Basil's Garage
Приєднався 2 січ 2023
Basil's Garage specializes in outfitting vehicles for long-term travel to remote campsites and surf spots but can build a vehicle to suit any traveler's needs. After spending the greater half of a decade traveling around North America, we've learned a thing or two about what works and what doesn't. We've traveled in vehicles large and small and have the time behind the wheel, on the tools, and at a campsite to understand how a vehicle should be set up for remote travel. As a result, we build practical, simple, and capable off-road vehicles.
Ultimate Baja adventure truck?
We outfitted this RAM 2500 with all the parts that make it perfect to head down south and explore Baja's most remote point breaks. It's got the suspension to handle hundreds of miles of washboard roads, plenty of fuel, a substantial power system, great storage, a GFC for sleeping, and more!

This is perfect!
Seriously awesome build! One of the coolest truck builds I have ever seen
The sun is in a funky angle¿. Move the funky vehicle so as to match or oppose.
Wow. That is a total dream truck for sure… I have a 6.0 powerstroke right now that I’m trying to do something similar with from a suspension perspective… a camper like that would be fun too but I need to take care of some engine stuff right now. It just gets expensive though and money is tight. Hope to have a build like that one day! Good work!
Very cool. Would love to see a vid on a vintage looking surf hatchback for going to local breaks. Keep it up!
How high is that lift with the rear leaf springs?
Nice truck, but where is the combat unit that you you need for protection if you go to Baja California?
Clean build boss
How much did this install cost?
Sweet Set up👍🏻, very well thought out. 😊 Thanks for sharing… got some good ideas from your build. 💪🏼
Spacers 👎 shoulda done offset rims
🔥🔥🔥
Love to see how you guys do the camera relocations on the Mits
😮❤
This would be awesome for my K5 Blazer!
Do you have a video on how you did the install with the ARB front bumper? Was it pretty straightforward?
what is the size of those nomad wheels? 0 or +25 mm offset? Thanks!
Love this build and vid!!! Can the pass thru RTT be ordered from GFC? I don’t see it listed as an option.
This build is rad!
nice rig
Promo-SM
Awesome build!
One of the best 1stgen tundra builds yet. Currently finishing up my 4wd 02 tundra build
Wow that’s clean
Amazing rig. Love gen 1 Tundras!
Utter perfection. Only thing needed to change is the exterior mirrors... Both for looks and function!
What kind of radiator are you running? OE?
Hows that Tranny and 4.7 stock holding up after your adventures? That's a lot of weight on that beast!
I have a 2000. Exact color shell etc. and want this build. I am always in the area and will stop by for a consult. My truck has 150k miles and is in perfect condition. This looks awesome.
Just curious with respect. I installed spc control arms on my 2001 Tundra, bilstein 2.5 adj. 5100, ko2 265 -75 -16 tires ......did not require wheel spacers for clearance, did you go with fitter tires or ???? Very curious, with respect. Thank You_ I may use your shop in the future
How are the ADS vs Bilstein 6112? Whats the difference in ride quality etc?
How much lift did these coilovers give? Its looks like more than 3" yet the UCAs are not at a sharp downward angle at all. Im just trying tonunderstand the different lifting methods and make a decision for my 02
Beautiful!!
Excellent craftsmanship!!!!!!!!!
I love this truck so much!!! Makes me regret selling my FGT 😫
The killers of Baja love it as well, which is bad news for you if you are planning to go there.
Great buidl, it would be my dream rig, i have a 02 Sequoia 4wd and i can only dream of building something like that. I will be doing budget mods just to reach safely and reliably the same spots in baja
Cool rig
Perfectly planned and laid out. The cost must be out of the average persons reach though.
Looks well made. I'm no math expert but, how is that 360°? It's like calling a 3 wheel vehicle a 4 wheeler. Good walkthrough and breakdown but, why not include the answer to most everyone's first question? The price range they go for. It takes mere seconds to say, "These start at x amount of dollars and go upto..." Just seems, pun intended, shady, to not include a ballpark price range. I'm sure when you worked out a contract with the Australian company you asked Them how much it would cost to ship them to your buisness. Sticker shock use to be in reference to the consumer. So many of the outdoor, overlanding and camping product segments all are fearful of including pricing which leads to Seller shock.
2 x 180 degree awnings are being counted as 360 degree total.
I’m trying to purchase this same setup with my GFC V2 however I don’t see it available through your link? How can I purchase?
It all sounded so good until I saw 1,400 bucks! Dude, I'll string up an $8 Harbor Freight tarp before I pay $1400 for an awning. Actually just paid $500 for an OVS 180. Great it together on your prices and I'll revisit when this one wears out.
Nice design and great weight. Any bracket mounting options avail for crossbars, Thule, Yakima etc?
You missed how the tablet is mounted???
What size KO2s?
apparently he does not know what 360 degrees represents makes him look like he does not know what he is talking about
Not really his fault. All manufacturers call these 180 awnings even though they only cover one side. Put one on both sides and they would have to call 2 - 180s a 360, right? Never mind that you'd have to have a fill front and back to make an actual 360!
