This is my favorite Dick's Pick's along with Dick's Pick's volume 7 and I'm glad that this was made into a vinyl and I have the original CD of volume 12.

Dick's Pick's 7 is one of my favorite Dick's Pick's and I hope it gets pressed on vinyl.

The taped-on labels come from orange crates. I don’t know about now, but back in the day, quite a bit of work went into the art for labels on crates of fruits and vegetables.

Picked this one up myself (and had to pay £47 import tax but that's another story) and I like what I hear. This period was basically the last hurrah for the anything can happen setlists before Drums and Space took over the second set and the songs are played well. I know she gets hated on but Donna sounds really good in these shows it must be said. For the future I'm still praying they re-release 30 trips around the sun for the 60th anniversary for those who were a bit too young to drop £600 on it 10 years ago and I'm really hoping for some 67/68 shows in a Dave's Pick or Boxset.

Here's the quality issue...a record is made from a steel or brass plate stamp. After being pressed a few thousand times, it gets dull and quality goes down. The later your pressing, the worse is the quality. That's why first pressings are so valuable. Thanks for a great review man🎉

I have a 30 plus album collection of dead and solo works. Never seen that one and I'm very curious.

Been waiting for this one! Haven't opened the cd set or the vinyl yet, waiting for that long day alone for that.

Anyone else noticed several "under-water" sounding sections. It's as if they spliced the tape to add in parts that were damaged.

The box set is not officially out until Gerry reviews it

The only year from the 70's I'm missing on wax is 1979. Might have to get that Hampton release until something else turns up.

Your thoughts on them not adding Jerry’s vocals to Jack Straw and Direwolf? As you know, a good audience version has his vocals on them.

Just received my 19 cds Friends of the Devil box set. I am quite disappointed with the quality of the vocals. (The jams sound great, tho.)The vocals sound deep in the background and are often muffled. Have you got that set yet? Wondering if Plangent Processes actually listened to their work before releasing it. $199 is a lot to pay for poor recordings - Rhino always does a good job but fell down on this one. Anyway, it’s been some time since you posted; I trust all is well.

I have always been suprised that No video exists for Oakland 76. So many Day On The Green Performances from 76 and 77 exist on Video so its quite strange there is no video of the Deads performance from 76 especially when you Consider so many Dead performances from Bill Graham venues .

They have Reissued the Road trips serious as well .

Jerry didn't sound good for almost all of 1978 . Jerry was smoking alot of heroin and cocaine in 78 .
