      yeah i'd collected a few difference angles of lens but was'nt to happy with them when i started the project the 180 seemed to hit the right spot for what i wanted.

    Hi, I like the length of your videos and I am wondering what your AllSky settings are for your night time imaging? I have mine set at max exposure of 60 seconds with a 5 second delay but most of my videos come out at less than 1 minute. Just wondered if you would share. Cheers.

      so i have under 'allsky settings' my max and manual exposure 17000,mean target 0.85,threshold 0.1,brightness 3,delay 0,max autogain 3,gain 3 frames to skip 20 then under 'editor' I'd changed auto stretch to 'True',auto stretch amount =20,auto stretch midpoint = 10% - timelapse bitrate at 30000k and finally the FPS=17 hope that helps..

      @@TibbyWorcester Wow! that's a lot of settings. I don't understand cameras at all and so I am really lost with all this until I learn, usually from mistakes, but I shall give these settings a try. I have done a new installation of AllSky today as I have been experiencing an issue with images not being take at odd intervals through the night. I am going to see how it behaves tonight before I move away from almost default settings. Thanks for your info, and clear skies.

      That's because of the moon,the extra brightness from a clear night don't play well with the exposure settings that i've setup for normal dark nights..👍

    Nice skies, great video. I am just in the early stages of setting up my AllSky camera. I missed last night as I made a silly mistake whilst testing the rig. I had the Pi out in the garden with no network access and forgot that there is no RTC on the PI. I only got 24 night shots before it thought it was sunrise and then another 23 shots before I assume it started making the timelapse. Needless to say I was gutted. Better luck tonight as I have now fitted an RTC module. My intention is to have the camera on the roof but for testing purposes it's in the garden for now. I have a similar setup to you it seems but just a different lens. I use a 12megapixel, 120 degree wide lens 1/1.7 whatever that all means. I have subscribed to your channel and will keep an eye out.       Ah Brilliant,I've subbed Back..I'd advise to say make sure you got easy access to give your dome a wipe every now and then...birds and bugs do crap on them quite regular in passing..

    Really nice sky this night. I think I saw three separate cloud layers all moving in different directions. Looks as if you finalized your adjustments. It looks really good.

      thanks Ray i wont be adjusting it for a while,does'nt look to bad!,will be interested when there's no moon cycle as it was hidden behind the roof and it seems to be when major cloud cover it looks off but i guess it just fingers crossed for a few clear skies

    The clouds are not normal they are not there and then they are and 1 minute later they are gone and then they are back.

      yeah I've been tinkering with a few setting over the last few days,only problems are lots of cloud cover so can't really dial it in.just need a few clear skies,I've also a new build to do with a new zwo camera and fujinon fish eye lens,cam and lens are quite chunky tbh,but again the weather's not helped to test and play.

    Just a quick question - What is your frame rate? Is it fixed or variable?

      the software has it fixed at 30fps and i have the resolution at 2560x1440 - if i try higher or try tweaking to much the Raspberrypi wont encode a timelapse due to its memory and cpu.
