Guyana jungle ride on a "Chonda" 125

Riding on an abandoned road from the gold mining town of Mahdia in the Guyana Highlands to Shirabama on the Essiquibo River . The bike is a Jialing JH 125 , a Chinese copy of an old Honda XL125 . This was part of a three month long trip trough Guyana , Northern Brazil and the Gran Sabana region of Venezuela in 2014 . After 6600 km's , the bike proved to be tough and as reliable as an axe .

Wow my dad was a shearer. He's shore in many places, on the back of a truck exhibition shearing with blades and portable shearing stands but nothing like this. Thanks
ahh started in the game by been born on Gwavas B farm.- it was on border off maraekakaho station in 1938.- My parents were very fussy about wool been perfect- Sheep/ bales/ wool- Mr Asia - Clarke use too come too take wool bales too Napier port. - he never gave me any illegal drugs. Dad built the 4 stand woolshed on Gwavas B. in 1953, without any plans jist his irish head. Found out the old Gwavas station woolshed burn down and was hopeing public knows any photos off it so ahh can write a book about Gwavas B. and rest history off Gwavas since 1854 when irish decent family took over it. - O'Connor/ O' Caroyln. - some time in its history it was judged the most perfect sheep farm in human history and ahh was hopeing Public could get it re- judged too see iff it still is the most perfect sheep farm in human history- contact- Sean O'Dwyer- 136- 140 Hobson Street.- Auckland City. 1010.- new zealand.- South pacific.
As soon as I seen wool sheds I clicked on too it and checked it out then I see hay plains that where I grew up so of course I’ve got to I often go out to big stations and just walk through the wool sheds and it brings back so many memories for me cheers mate 👍🍻🇦🇺subscribe

Thanks for sharing, great video, nice work. I would like to have seen the sheep run up the race into the catching race and how the shearers got them out of the race. How about that flying handpiece! Never seen the lizard fly like that! Cheers Beard.

My friend and I want to take a trip by motorcycle from Guyana to Brazil. Do you have any tips for us?
Yes Jayden . Take a hammock , there are plenty of shelters where you can hang a hammock for free or very cheaply . I recommend taking a side trip to Mahdia . From there you should be able to organize a boat trip up the Potaro River to the Kaiteur Falls, the most spectacular sight in Guyana . The abandoned Garroway Stream road that I took has since been rebuilt, so travelling there will be much easier . If you want to buy a bike there , I can recommend Jailing in Georgetown , they also sell Hondas . I don't know about re-selling a bike in Brazil , but it was easy enough to do in Georgetown . Good luck !

Mine was tough and reliable , but it was a brand new bike . A 20 year old bike may still be ok if it has been well maintained , and hasn't done too much work .All the best .

They have sheep grazing on a munitions range? I would think the residues and unexploded ordinance wouldn’t be good for the sheep. Maybe it doesn’t matter if the random sheep blows up or gets lead poisoning?

They skirt heavy because the back legs are full of burr , and need to be separated from the main fleece line .

Hi love your video .Have just discovered you tube .As watching It brings back memories of a sheep shearer I met at the COCO COLA CLUB in Victoria back in the 1990 his name was Leny I believe.I Truly liked Him heaps but timing was wrong Letting this man go was one of my lifes biggest regrets .I think about it a lot .If your out there Leny .I always wish you well I am single now lol
God I miss this life was only a learner but sadly no one will put me on no anyone out near Numurkah contract wise

Great video, the scenery was beautiful. I'm from Texas and have a '79 CX500, it's a nice bike and as you said, very smooth and comfortable. I also have an old Harley Sportster, that I used to tour on, but the Honda is much smoother and more comfortable so I use it for touring now. I enjoy tinkering with old bikes and keeping them on the road!

Greetings...good to see a Left Handed shearer. Great to see a women Presser, first time I have come across a female wool presser. Not sure if you'll read the comments but...if it helps - when your doing the Belly's with burr in them, grab a couple of belly's with the shorn side on the outside (make sure your hands are picking the white wool side first and then use them to pick a arm or handful). Yep a flanny is a good investment too...roll the sleeves down and into it...great to see, well done.
