Hole 6 - Zig Zag - 515 yds Par 5 Drive has to be faded from left to right or it will be blocked by trees. Consider going for the green in two with a fairway wood or lay up with a mid iron to leave a wedge to the green. Danger all around the green with water short and right. Again a possible birdie chance.

Hole 9 - North Woods - 381 yds Par 4 Driver from the tee but watch out of bounds left and the fairway bunker on the right. Tricky to get the correct distance with the second shot. You don’t want to be long or shot as it is difficult to get up and down.

Hole 3 - Maythorne - 416 yds Par 4 Slight dogleg right to left. Start the drive just left of the fairway bunkers with a touch of draw. This should leave a mid to short iron again to an elevated green. Par is a good score.

Hole 8 - Ice House - 350 yds Par 4 Lovely short par 4. Driver isn't really the club from the tee. Long iron/fairway wood coupled with a wedge should leave a great birdie chance. Favour the right half of the fairway with the tee shot so the tree on the left doesn't interfere with the second shot.

Hole 4 - Fish Ponds - 524 yds Par 5 Drive through the gap in the trees. If you haven’t hit your longest drive, consider laying up short of the water. Normally this is a genuine 3 shot par 5 for even long hitters. A birdie chance, but easy to make bogey or worse!

Hole 5 - Hopkiln - 172 yds Par 3 Medium iron length par 3. The green has a dip in the middle so try and work out whether the pin is on the front or back. If you don’t hit the right level, it’s a tricky two-putt. Bunkers left, right and behind.

Hole 7 - Middle Pond - 192 yds Par 3 Long iron par 3. Plays into prevailing wind. Be happy with a par.

Hole 2 - Pear Orchard - 380 yds Par 4 Beware of the bunker waiting on the right for the pushed drive. The prevailing wind also blows left to right. Again, a good drive will leave a short iron to a slightly elevated green.

Hole 1 - Minster 403 yds Par 4 A gentle opening hole with a generous fairway and relatively easy green to hit. Plays a drive and a short iron for the strong hitter.

Hole 17 - Crilly's - 190 yds Par 3 The par 3’s at Norwood are the key to a good score. The priority here is to find the green with the tee shot. Par is then no problem but missing the green invariably leads to a dropped shot

Hole 18 - North Park - 555 yds Par 5 Lovely downhill par 5 finishing hole. For strong hitters it is in range in two. The green is large and undulating and well protected by bunkers. You should walk off here feeling good about your round and ready to tackle the popular 19th hole!

Hole 16 - Vicarage - 409 yds Par 4 Great par 4. The drive should ideally be a draw to hold the left to right sloping fairway. The green is very long from front to back so try and get the length right with the medium iron length second shot.

Hole 10 - Lily Pond - 353 yds Par 4 Like the first hole, a relatively simple short par 4. Drive is a bit uphill and the second is a little blind but making par shouldn’t be a problem.

Hole 11 - Ascension 389 yds Par 4 A great tree-lined par 4 dog-legging to the right. Don’t be tempted to cut off too much of the corner from the tee as it is easy to get blocked out by tall trees. Do not commit the cardinal sin of missing the green long or right. Par is a great score at this hole.
