For those that don’t wanna listen to me yap: AMP - Marshall DSL 40CR Ultra Gain Channel 1 Gain - 2 Treble - 4 Middle - 6 Bass - 8 Presence - 6 Resonance - 4 GUITAR - Fender Player Strat (JB SH4 in the bridge position) Wowow if you read this far you should follow my instagram(s) @seersdivizion (my personal) @dracula.scum (my guitar page)
You should do some more if you can, this was awesome 💣
@@Voracidous absolutely will do more! Trying to brainstorm some more original content to post but I’d love to post some more covers as well!
i can get this tone with my bad monkey and roland blues cube
Raw as fuck this is it dude so dope
The tone I’m tryna capture is the tone off of the magnolia album from turnover too. This was awesome man!
@@22AH26 I took a listen and while I don’t really know that much abt their gear, it kinda just sounds to me like a lower output humbucker (so the kinds you’d find stock in your generic LPs and HSS Strats) through a JCM800 with not too much gain and a relatively stable EQ with maybe a bit more focus on mids and bass. That is a total guess tho, I really don’t know much abt them or their gear.
Turnover have had a few gear tours in the past but not a lot of info from magnolia days mainly just peripheral vision. From memory they used a JC 120 and a couple of pedals from ehx I think it was soul food and holy grail.
i know single coils through a Marshall when I hear it
@@abrahammda haha I’m actually using a JB sh4 humbucker! It’s just slanted like a Strat bridge single coil (kinda like EVH or Billie Joe Armstrong)
great cover, great energy man🔥🔥🔥
Great cover man!
amazing tone
Thanks! The Marshall DSL40CR is no joke!
sick cover my man especially for one take
Thank you! Would love to go back and do a perfect take at some point as well, but I mostly just post on here for fun so we shall see
This video rules, I'm in love with the guitar work of this band and I've never really seen anyone dive super deep into their tones until this video. I know it probably takes a while to figure out but I'd love to see how to get some of the Hyperview tones (which could also probably be extended to Floral Green's spacier cuts). The chorus-overdrive combo (or at least I think that's what those effects are) on those songs is so unique and a full breakdown would be fire. Great work here either way!
@@hennyboi I’d def love to do some deep dives on specific songs and tutorials and stuff (for some other bands too). As for Hyperview, def down to do it, I think I wanna wait until I can get some more pedals and maybe a JC120 or a lower output guitar, just to really nail the sound. Really appreciate your comment tho it means a lot!
Someone in the comments of the previous video suggested I do covers so here’s one. Did this in one take, it’s sloppy boohoo waaaaahh
Awesome video man
@@Ian-Threaded thanks dude! Hopefully will have some more coming soon!
@ heck yeah dude. Definitely going to try your suggestions along with Euge Valovirta’s suggestions to get a more JCM800 sound out of my JCM2000 which I am not exactly in love with. Would you care if I made a video and cited yours as a source if I get closer? My band used a borrowed JCM 800 for some songs but I really don’t want to go and buy another amp when I have the 2000
@ ofc you can! I’m not in this for anything really so if you wanna credit you can and it will always be appreciated but it’s no biggie
goat
Wow that’s actually crazy! I’m gonna have to try similar settings on my boss katana.
@@HeathTheBedroomGuitarist plz do and lmk how it goes!! My search for this tone actually started on a katana but I couldn’t get that breakup to sound the way I wanted it to. I’d be super impressed if you could get something in the same ballpark!
@@z3rker I’ll let you know how it goes, I’m on vacation for the week and when I get home I’ll definitely try it out!
@@z3rker I tried it and still couldn't get it to sound right on the katana lol
@ hah yeah I just don’t know if it’s very easily done on the katana. The tone really relies on a lot of that crunchy breakup, and a lot of that is just hard to achieve on a platform like the katana. Part of why I love Marshall’s so much, nobody does that sound better imo.
@@z3rker yeah I can’t get that nice crunchy sound on the Katana, maybe someday I’ll figure it out. Still a great video tho :)
AC15 as a head and a rockerverb 100 head, and Orange ppc412 closed back cab loaded with either green backs or vintage 30s (I forget). I interned at studio4 right after floral green was recorded and remember both Will and Jamie telling me that's how they recorded the guitar tones. I believe it was all mic'd up with SM7's too which helped capture that low end better. There might have also been a marshall 1960 cab with greenbacks as well. Basically big 4x12s mic'd up with dark mics layered twice per side is how Will gets that huge wall of guitars on most of title fight's catalog.
@@vincedejesus2285 ac15 doesn’t surprise me at all actually, especially on a song like 27. I’m almost 100% sure there’s a lot of JCM800 on there, maybe they just didn’t mention it. That’s really cool to hear tho dude thank you for that info.
The cabs are a big part of their tone too. I’m not sure what they used on shed but they used an orange ppc412 for floral green
@@jazzmasterbator agreed. I think for shed it was a mix of orange and Marshall cabs. But yeah a 4x12 is definitely gonna get you closer than a lil 1x12 will
I have been telling people to turn their gain down for years. You proved my point. More gain doesn't always make better tone
@@Natural_Order yep this is the truth. My rule of thumb is typically to just go with whatever gain sounds right in my head, and then dial it down to the least amount I can possibly have without sacrificing the tone I’m going for. Ppl really forget how much clarity and definition they lose when they drench everything in gain, especially on a tube amp where you could just crank volume instead.
You should do some covers, your playing is tight, and the tone is on point. Good stuff 👍
@@trouttickler5065 super appreciate that dawg, I definitely plan to. I have a lot of songs I can do.
bro i’ve been searching for like a month and this is so good thanks
@@kodiesarkodie267 ofc dude. Lmk if you have any questions or feedback
