Honda XL 500 S ‘79 build Tracker
Picked up a cheap Honda XL500S and made it run, brake and road legal. There was no electrical system and everything was 6V. Super machine with lot’s of torque. Smaller front wheel and lower suspension make it nice tracker with some unexpected good on-road and off-road capabilities. Super simple build with the exception of the electrical stuff.

I bought this 2 stroke Vespa when it was a bad runner. New tires, suspension, bigger carb, air filter, cilinder and piston made it so much fun to drive.

Hi, Im doing similar but having SIP Road 2 barrel/bracket bolt alignment issues. Ive spent a few hours trying various ways of offering up both sides but the bolt isnt horizontal when the barrel is connected and when the barrel is disconnected but bolt lines up for tightening theres 20mm gap between barrel and exhaust manifold. Did you suffer any connection issues?
Thx for your question. I don’t remember having any special issues. But the bolt is always a pain in the … to remove. Maybe try removing the center stand and try with the top end bolts loose? Good luck 🍀
