📣 August Tiger Talent Recipient: Ag Instructor & FFA Advisor Bill Hammes 📣
Sherrard, Aug. 21, 2024 - During the August school board meeting, Ag Instructor and FFA Advisor Bill Hammes was recognized by the district for his nine years of service to Sherrard schools. He retired from Wilton in 2016 after 27 years there. He began his teaching career in Central City Iowa in 1981.
His family, colleagues, current & former students surprised him with their attendance for the special recognition.
Superintendent Dr. Carl Johnson implemented the ‘Tiger Talent’ award for:
“...those who model, build and encourage positive character qualities - speaking into students’ lives by word and deed that will resonate for years to come and help guide them to become the leaders and contributing community members of tomorrow.”
Hammes received a golden metal apple with “Tiger Talent” inscribed to commemorate his dedication to Sherrard Schools.
