We travel great deal, much of it local. I have always relied on UTUBE to give me opportunities to check a place out before I go. Now I would like to have enough content that people will trust and enjoy my experiences. We are 65plus years of age and want to show seniors that they can do it. I am new to all of this and am enjoying the posting. I try to post the content that I would be looking to make me want to do that activity. Therefore, you will not see me skydiving, jumping off waterfalls, parasailing, hang gliding etc. My feet stay on the ground.

What camera did you use for videoing? Great job!
Just my phone camera. But I do have a great editing program I use: Wondershare
Thanks for the wonderful video. We are doing the same route in December 2024. Ours will have an emphasis on the Christmas markets. We are taking an extra day in Basil to stave off any jet lag. We were just curious about tipping and currency exchange. Any advice?
awesome!!!!!!!!!
Generally what were the temperatures that you encountered on the trip and was there any fall foliage coming out when you visited?
As you can see from the video, just about the right kind of coolness. Some of the time we were in short sleeves, but mostly just very very comfortable. Most of our stops were along the river and in large to medium cities. The overrall views are so spectacular, that I don't recall foliage with any specificity other than just post card type pictures everywhere. Our side trip to the Black Forest will give you an idea of the amount of leave coverage. I would do this trip again if the opportunity comes up. Have fun.
Super❤
nice place i will be there soon
We are doing this in a few weeks! Thank for the video! We are Sooners too!
You guys are AWESOME , the Harmony is 10 stars
my brother lives in canton .
Thank you for sharing your trip. My wife and I along with two other couples are taking the same cruise this October. We are very excited and can’t wait. Thanks again.
We only used our credit cards while on that trip. What small amount of cash we used was gladly accepted by everyone we dealt with...Have fun
Very good editing. Just the right amount of commentary. We’re going on this cruise in June, and your video really helps. Thank you.
Beautiful, helpful, informative, enjoyable . . . appreciated captions identifying locations, dates and temperature!
Thanks! Your video helped us to get an idea of what clothes to pack for the weather - we are doing the Viking Bergen to NYC trip in May and coming from Australia have no idea about dressing for an a arctic summer - looks like our winter! Also useful to know that you can actually walk to some of the places under your own steam rather than taking the tours all the time.
Greetings! We will be taking a Viking Rhine A-B in March. Thanks for posting this included excursion to the Black Forest. Would you recommend any of the paid tours? Thank you.
There are many offered, all good. My personal interests are the outdoors and nature. Having said that, you should really consider the Top of Cologne..It was well worth it. It's not on the video as we were asked not to film. I'm so glad we did it.
What a dramatic waterfall. So loud and beautiful
We’re taking Viking to Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania in January/February. We plan on taking some of our own excursions but also some that Viking offers.
I love Viking. We took the Viking expedition ship to Antarctica last year. We even got to go down 60 ft in a 6 person submarine. We did have some 25 ft waves going through the Drake Passage but we just had to hang on to the railings and watch our steps. Viking is the best ship on which to travel.
I loved Kehl it is worth the walk it is lovely.
we did this last May too many factories and other industry on the shoreline we did danube in 2022 the riverside scenery is much better
Saw these guys last night in Charlotte. I saw TPHB at least 6 times and The Mad Hatters are the next best thing, they put on a great show.
Always an Awesome crowd in Charlotte!
Planning this cruise for next year. We hope there are some October Fest experiences but I didn’t see any in your video. It's not a deal breaker for me!
Excellent video, well done!
Looks like you guys had a great time. I would like to have seen the ship (facilities, cabins, dining, lounges, etc.), but nice video.
You can go on UA-cam and google it. There are tours of the Viking ships. I won’t cruise on any other line. The ships are perfect. No gambling, no children, no awful shows. They have a small musical group-violin, pianist and flute. And a show like this one. Tasteful. They are called the Thinking Persons Cruise line. All inclusive- food, wine, even sashimi and sushi. They feature expert speakers in the geology, culture, animals and more. They cater to an older crowd. The cruises aren’t cheap.
I do recall several people using walkers, no wheelchairs that I can recall. We just finished as Viking Sea cruise to Norway and there were wheelchair passengers on it.
Was anyone on your cruise in a wheelchair?
Thank you for this beautiful video ❤
Very nice- I’m looking forward to this trail and the falls:)
What time does the ship leave Basel?
I enjoyed your video.
Good video. Great editing, also. We did it in early May 2019. Same cabin! We would do it again. Thanks for sharing.
today is Red Cross day, in honor of henri dunant the founder of the icrc, and he lived in strasburg.
we did this cruise back in 2017, they upgraded us for free to a two room suite, french balcony and balcony. british airways fouled up our baggage, so in base we had to do some shopping, got our luggage the next day. viking is the best.
This is my favorite place in Canton. It's astonishing to me how little-used it is; I hardly ever seen anybody on the trails other than the main White Trail. During a 3.5 hour hike yesterday I passed only eight other people, all on or near the White Trail. The logging has severely impacted a large portion of the area but there are still many miles of pristine trails.
Thank you, Keith. Very informative. Planning to take my dear wife on a Viking river cruise in the future.
Loved your video Glad you posted. We are doing the cruise from Amterdam to Basel in september. I was wondering if the Top of cologne excursion was a hard one. We signed up for it but a little concerned about the stairs going up.
great video place look nicev
It is “Koblenz” - not Klobenz!
Um
Excellent post, My mrs and I have considered doing this in the next year or so.
I did a 2 week cruise from amsterdam to budapest.. last August only 120 on the boat about 90% americans a few Australians and canadians... 3 scots and 2 english... i was one of the english.. and i was the only solo traveller... so it was wierd to do a European holiday with almost not Brits.... i realised afterwards that Vikings target customers are americans. . No problem except i came down with covid on day 5.. so i had to spend 5 days in my cabin... other than that.. i met lots of great people it was an enjoyable river cruise
River cruises are so much more interesting than ocean cruises, so much more to see for the simple fact, that once you’re out in the middle of the ocean, the water all looks the same
Thank you for the tour!
Just stumbled over your video. Nice one, BUT the city called Koblenz not Klobenz (Klo means also toilet beside this and WC 😂) Greetings from Germany 👋
Thank you, comfortable, large room.Hitler’s tanks ruined the Back Forest, really enjoyed seeing the forest is returning to the density it once had. My mom was very upset in the 1980’s at the sparsity. Amazing cruise, loved the itinerary ! Would love to cruise but not sure since I now am confined to an electric wheelchair. The magic of the castles !
Cool, i wish i could join.
You did a great job on your video. Thanks for posting. Looks awesome there. Now I definitely want to go.
Nice job! I enjoyed!
Nice photography. Obnoxious and loud music
Great video! We did the same cruise in December, the Christmas Market cruise. The problem with that cruise is you get less history and nature and more "here is free time to shop". Christmas shopping is fine but after 1PM the areas are as crowded as American malls, each one had the same stuff (gluiwein, ornaments, nativity scenes) and very few had singular handcrafts. Viking still made it all worthwhile.
Beautiful trip you had! I cruised down the Danube in April from Germany to Budapest and it was a wonderful cruise as well. If you ever get to cruise through Germany during Christmas, the markets are amazing!
We did our first Christmas cruise in December on the Elbe...Fabulous!
