Chinese mini excavator control handle replacement
Переглядів 6921 годину тому
I did not order the original handles, instead made my own with old drill press knobs and some threaded studs. In my opinion, they are alot better than the factory ones, mainly because I made them a little longer than original so they are effortless to operate now.

I just got done replacing all the axle bearings and seals on my 440...
Nice!! Not too hard of a job. Parts should be cheap too
great job man. loved the skateboards
@meganekun3676 Thanks! Thinking about throwing in a drawing video every now and then
Tenho um desse funcionando aqui em São Paulo, Brasil
Thats awesome!!!! !I'd love to see that!
reminds me of something i heard about buying quality stuff. "you can buy once and cry once, or you can cry every time you use it". buy the most expensive quality tools and equipment you can comfortably afford and work up from there, especially if it's something you're going to use regularly.
@dissimulii Thats no joke. I would be comfortable using this around the house, but i don't really need one around the house. I need one to work out on a jobsite. The size doesn't bother me, it's the reliability. It wouldn't look good to have this on a job and it lay down and die. I had a bigger name brand mini ex a couple years ago and did a video and then sold it. But back then, I didn't need one. I mainly got these because I got a smoking deal on all three and knew I could get em running and make a few bucks. Thanks for watching!!
Heck yeah! Awesome
Yup! I was gonna keep it, but it's def not gonna handle what all I need it to. So on the marketplace it goes!!!
Ok, you've convinced me to just never buy one
The more you look at these, the worse they get!!
I added an oil filter to my and my shop had the fittings in stock no problem. You definitely need an industrial bottle of blue lock tight and some time to retighten everything. Mine has about 35 hours on it now and has been great. Best of luck!
Out of curiosity how many hours does that one have?
@JamesThomas-dn6hz yea. And my adv8ce would be to even change out most of the bolts entirely. Because they are very weak and can snap. Waay easier than a grade 5 or eight
those appear to be DIN 24 Degree Cone O-Ring Lite. if i where you keep it all the same, and buy extras of the more common ends.
Sweden here🖖 The fittings are not "Chinese", they are used in Europe to, and you can order them on internet (its in millimeters ) and your hydraulic guy can press them. I think that the machine is imported in pieces, so it might be a American who have assembled it?! We in the western world are paying peanuts for the equipment, but expect to get a Ferrari in the mail 😉 Im the same 😊 But seriously, the Chinese quality is picking up fast and we better watch out. Unfortunately for the ordinary people, it's our own manufacturers who have moved production elsewhere, and they are lying about the wages being to high, because the wages are about 5% of the sale price of a new car. Hope you will be fine! Slava Ukraine, democracy, freedom and equality from Sweden 🖖🇸🇪✊🇺🇦
@mariabengtssonviking well a previous "mechanic" and I use that term loosely, had worked on this thing and had no business doing that because he caused more damage that repair. But it's all good now. Yea, I never expected a Ferrari. Haha. I know exactly what I'm getting I to buying these. But luckily, I can work on all my own stuff. So as long as parts are available, ill be good. And I should've clarified, when i said fittings, I meant the fittings in the machine. The fittings for the hoses are available at my local shop. But I think overall, for what it is, its gonna serve my needs just fine
Check your hydraulic fluid and it might have air that needs pergged
@@jeremythiel2550 i did. And I drained all that factory stuff out and put aw46 in it

I usually have this issue with guns/gun parts, optics and fishing stuff 😂 different area but same feeling, so I feel ya! Lol
That junk should be taken to the scrap yard. You're trying to make your problems someone else's.
@SzymczykProductions Thats a ridiculous statement. I'm not forcing anyone to buy any of this. Pretty sure that whoever buys this knows what they have to do. It's up to them to decide if they wanna tackle it. Plenty of people want this stuff to tinker with. I've never had a problem selling or trading anything I've got.
@oldironfinder dude I'm trolling I think it's cool relax. But I stand by what I said
@@SzymczykProductions me too
theyre real tough machines, i bought two in that shape been sitting so long water got into cylinders rotted them pistons good but i just honed them finally got engines to turn and they would run haha
@urbanitesgarage3299 i agree. I've had good luck with almost every diesel I've ever run. They last alot longer than gas for sure
THATS A FIRE
@@roosterwilson9371 dang right. Gotta stay warm here and there
I wish on these older 6.0 trucks they did the same thing like they do now with the 6.6 and use the Allison. Now the new 10spd Allison is just Allison branded, but at least the gas engine trucks get the same HD trans as the Diesel. I’m sure you know someone but if you need a good salesman at James wood let me know! I buy a lot of trucks from them!
@@etx24v86 i really wanted to buy a newer truck just like this with the 6.6 gas. Nobody had one close to me and this one was relatively low mile, so thought it would be OK. It is better now since I got trans flushed.
@ those 6.0’s are hard to beat for reliability. I know multiple people who have 200k+ without issue. I ordered 3 of the new 6.6 Gas engine 2500’s for our outside sales guys. 2 have been great, 1 needed a transmission at 70k miles but has been great after that!
@etx24v86 Hopefully be upgrading to a 6.6 next year.
Hey what size of pipe did you use. How far apart were the turndown tubes?
@connerlynch7034 ill have to go and check, I don't remember. I do know it was all exhaust parts and I had to cut one and y them together to get them close enough to work.
Good find on that one.
Yes sir, it was!
Whats that orange pocket knife...
@scionator hmmmmm. Oh I think u know.
Oh man! Definitely doesn’t seem like a good end of an early work day.
I use 10 or 20 amp motor controllers off ebay in place of a rheostat. They are much much cheaper than the ceramic rheostats and work fine. The fields will never pull 10 amps full fielded.
@pl747 great idea. Ill look into that. Thanks for the tip!
Did you ever get it going? I have built a few of these. The alternator needs to run around 7000 rpm to work good about twice the speed of the engine so 2 to 1. That engine will probably bog. I use 12-15 hp engines. I notice Harbor Freight has their 14 hp electric start on sale right now for 329.95. I have used it a couple of times and works great. I have one that is a Kohler 15 hp turning a Leece-Neville 24 v off an army truck that I run 12 v through the brushes with external diodes that welds great. It is probably 3 times the size of the one you have. I used an arc stabilizer coil out of an old Miller Thunderbolt arc welder on it. On the brushes you ground the uninsulated brush to ground. The brush that has the insulated wiring goes to 12v positive through your rheostat. The rheostat varies the voltage to the fields to regulate the current. I have been using 10 amp motor controllers in place of a rheostat since they are much cheaper than the ohmite type rheostats and they work fine.
Not yet. I've got a whole bunch of brand new engines, 10,11,13,and 15 hp. I'm working with another youtube that has a plasma table to build custom brackets for everything.
Oh nooo!!
Heck yes!!
Wild!
I bought a used one, same model and everything but it came with the cables disconected, right where the capacitator is and i dont know how to Connect them, cables have Numbers, by any chance do you have a diagram
@@JesusGarcia-qq6gs no. Sorry. But you should be able to Google it. Maybe look up diagram by model and serial number
Difficult to find them in that decent of original condition. The fact that it turns easily, is the biggest part of the battle. Odd that it has the belt guide on the axle, but no belt pulley. We love those little Allis tractors, have 2 of them myself, plus 4 of the row crop versions! In their time, they were as good as and better than most of the competition.
@frankwurth5375 yes they sure were! The new stuff is nothing like that old stuff
You definitely have some cool old equipment out there. It’s nice to see that little walk behind start up and run.

Pretty cool and definitely useful in remote areas.
@Bigislandguy Thanks! I'll be building another one soon. I've got my hands on some larger hp engines. I want to make it powerful, but still light enough to load in a truck by myself.
Yea she’ll start
Quiet too
2 weeks more likley
@@roosterwilson9371 that's just to get in front door! Haha
Might be able to find a rheostat off an old welder at the junkyard.
You're right. I never even tried that. It always welded so well like it was, I just left it that way. I hardly ever change the settings on my lincoln. I usually weld in one of two settings for all applications
Have you tried to TIG with it? I wonder what it would take to AC weld with an alternator.
No, haven't tried to tig yet.
I’m sure I’m going to enjoy her. 😂 I haven’t had a chance to drive it much or tinker on her yet(currently working out of town again), but I can’t wait to get back home and start enjoying it. Thanks

Can we see this in action?
ua-cam.com/video/AEciYhmSNmg/v-deo.htmlsi=Q07u755jOnn1k6R3
Sure can. Heres the link to my other video
I also have an older video where I'm using this exact same alternator with a bigger engine(13hp) in a homemade housing like an sa 200 kinda. I made a living with that alternator welder for a couple years before the diodes went out. I replaced them and it sat on a shelf for years until I decided to build this one with a smaller engine
well even if you didnt see you sure noticed .... be careful man. dont want to see you on the Darvin awards list
@johnsvensson9294 no joke!!! Yea, it let me know real quick!
At first I thought wasps got you.
@camshaftprelube i always worry about those damn things too. I'm highly allergic. But in this case, I think i would've rather been stung. Haha
I actually went to a school in '86 on those air cooled Deutz engines in Atlanta. Then the company I worked for either lost or gave up the dealership, and I never ended up working on a single one! I do recall crank starting one in class.
Thats cool! I would have loved to take that class! I have had and still have a few old deutz engines. And one very large v6 detroit 2 stroke diesel. I love these old diesel engines!!
This is a great idea, but how to control the current (amps)?
@@tedbastwock3810 you can control it to a degree with the rheostat
@@tedbastwock3810 maybe and rheostat on the field of the generator?

@rosscollins2910 yea. If I was doing these all the time, I would invest in a pair. But i hopefully won't be buying and fixing up anymore old dump trucks. Haha
Do you think it would move Aw-32 hydraulic oil?
@LiftTech22 not sure if this one would, but I've got a video of another pump from these folks that is designed for pumping oils and i used it for hyd oil no problem
YOUR DAM RIGHT!!
@michaelgreen4838 I think it's bs when these dealerships talk down to you like you're a damn idiot. Trying to tell me stuff that you and I both know isn't true. It's like, I'll pay, just fix the damn thing!!!

I always used a 16 lb sledge hit it then take a small blade flat screw driver stick in the slot and take them right off.
@lesliegibbons6917 most, if not all came right loose with a few smacks. Some i had to kinda "unscrew" but they came right off nonetheless.
@oldironfinder Back in the 70s when you had to drive the studs out to get the brake drum off I was working at a place with another guy and we hated each other with a passion. He was holding the steel drift pin and me with the 16 lb sledge. For some dumb reaso he had his thumb on the top I said are you ready he says just hit the fing thing. I did his thumb never to be seen again. Boss runs out there said there were two on the ground him rolling around screaming and bleeding and me laughing. He quit.
@@lesliegibbons6917 i felt that conversation. Haha
I have the same year MF 35 gas engine, I can’t get the hood to close all the way, it’s hitting on the new radiator, what did you do to get it all the way closed? It’s hard to see in the video what you did to finally get it shut all the way.
Mine was actually hitting that bottom center piece because it was bent inward. I took that piece off and it closed all the way. It was real close though even with that piece off
@@oldironfinder Thanks I will fool with it again tomorrow, the new radiator I installed is almost an inch thicker than the old one. I’m not having much luck with any parts companies finding a thinner radiator. Thanks again!
@gregoryanderson6550 i hear that. This was the second one I ordered. (Ebay) sometimes it's a crapshoot whether the parts will actually fit or not. Glad I could help!
