Changing gears in our turbo mail jeep! Thursday Trip EP4
This past Thursday we went over to Kevin's house to swap out the 9in gear set in the jeep. This hot rod was built in 2020-2021 and was the start of our Thursday hangout. The jeep is 1984 DJ5 with a 5.3 turbo and th350 trans. Super fun street machine that gets looks everywhere it goes.

Will it run? Big Block Chevy motorhome power!
Переглядів 765День тому
Dad got a free to him motorhome with a big block and turbo 400. My uncle found it on a job site that he was clearing land for. They ripped the body off with an excavator so we could haul the frame on a trailer back to his house. Judging by some papers we found, we believe It has been sitting in the woods for about 15yrs. Plans are to swap the drivetrain into a 66 Cadillac for a cheap street cru...

This is my dad's 96 roadmaster wagon that he has been working on for the past year and a half. We were able to take it out this past weekend for him to test. It will take a little bit for him to get back into the swing of things but overall, he had a fun time and is ready to get back after it once he does a few more minor changes to the car

Classic gear jammers and pro stick drivers racing at Virginia motorsports park 8-17-24 My apologies if I did not get everyone for at least one pass. I missed the beginning of the first time runs and I missed around 3 passes for the second time run when I had to change a battery in my camera.
Making runs at Virginia Motorsports Park. It was hot!

Much needed suspension upgrades for the Buick

I decided to add a sway bar to the car to help with how much the car lays over on the right-side during launch. This should also help with 60ft time by have a chassis that is working "correctly". During the removal of the rear is when I discovered the upper arms and how stiff they were. I can only imagine that the rear was not performing the best it could because of it not being able to move fr...

Have two old MH, one has a 454 and one has a 383, hoping to find someone interested in them?
Put them on marketplace, I'm sure someone would be interested
@@leftlanewilson that's what I figured, want to do the same thing and get them running.
I just got a 1977 Itasca motorhome with a good low mileage 454 and 400 trans. It's the only way to get a good, unmolested engine these days. Motorhomes are used little then parked for decades. Scraping the body is a pain as scrape yards won't take them anymore ( too much wood ).
Yea thankfully we found this one on a land clearing job so we were able to scrap the body in the dumpster.
Without times I would never go there either. What a waste of time. And motor I want my ET every single time!!!!!
Times are there. Just can't see them at all due to the sun and this person's camera settings.
good job
You done Left Lane
Not many folks in the stands!
That wagon is mean!!!
Love it bro
This just reminded me to build a hot tank, thanks 👏👏👏🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
Lol me too.
That EGR was working perfectly!
Na, thats not clogged, its just seasoned. 😅
new BBQ grill
Nice guy stuff
Easy fix...take out the EGR. 😂😂😂😂
That's what we did, still needed to clean out all the build up in the intake.
Never seen this on any of the older cars @@leftlanewilson
Correct, they most likely don't have a EGR or if they do it's not as much of an issue on conventional EFI or indirect injection setups. The intake still has some gas or fuel moving through the runners to help wash out the intake. On a direct injection engine like this was. The intake is dry, so there is no fuel moving through it to help with the build up inside the intake.
Dang
Dump that in the potholes on the driveway. Instant repair
Sup
My man
I definitely saw light under one of them tires on launch tho
Lol yea it will pick the left front a little bit
@@leftlanewilson I'm picking up a white 95 Thursday
That reminds me of my first car.
Running it at 18 volts will overheat the 12 volt pump .. fine to check a fuel pump like this not fine to use it to dump a full tank.. use a m12 battery so your at least in the acceptable range or get a voltage drop down regulator (18 down to 12)
If the tank is already out, then why worry about how much fuel is in there? Granted, I usually remove a tank with a trany jack so am not worried about the weight.
We were putting a new tank and pump in the car but the fuel was still good, so we were just transferring it into the new tank.
To everyone worried about the pump burning up. Most dc power systems can run off of 24 vdc and 12 vdc. Pump is probably fine.
Depends on the pump 24 volts dc would be peak when it kicks on to prime running it long term on a higher voltage can and will get it hot
What if the sending unit is broken. Then you have to do it the hard way
18v on a 12v system tho ?
Pump was being changed anyways.
Good way to burn up a 12-volt pump.😮
Oh my... thats potential for an arc flash
Also how to burn up your fuel pump😂
Replace it anyhow while you have access to the tank
It was being swapped for an inline pump
Just driving home tonight reminded me of how much I want to ditch the TBI and go carbureted. Carburetors man, that's what life is all about.
Nothing wrong with a carb that is properly tuned. Everyone is always in a war of EFI vs Carb, but honesty they work well. Carbs will always have a place in the engine world.
@@leftlanewilson Yes except that the new ICMs have bad terminals that corrode every month and leave me dead in the water.
This is cool as hell
Thank you
Plenty of power there. This was clearly built to have fun. 👍
100% just a cheap car to go have fun with and let anyone drive.
@leftlanewilson absolutely love it.
😴😴😴😴
Pretty cool too!!
hate it when that happens
My dad was racing his sand rail in this one. It was great to see him do this so long ago. RIP dad❤❤❤
Burp!
