Is this REALLY better than NICREW? | Hygger HG508-11W LED Light Review
Algea is a natural part of the eco system. If your entire tank is covered top to bottom, then you have a problem. But if you have a lot of it growing on your substrate on all the dried leaves and botanical, I kind of think that's what it's like in nature. We only get angry at it on plants... personally, if it's on my rocks and botanicals, I don't mind, but if it's on the plants, I get angry just because I want the plants to do well.
Wait. Does this salt water aquarium not have the whole filtration sock and stuff system? I hesr salt mater id extremely difficult to run because algea takes over super fast and needs constant cleaning and a huge filter.
YES Excellent analysis of fish behavior.
Thank you, appreciate it. Did you watch the full video this clip was from. It was truely interesting to research. 👌🏻
So helpful 💕 thank you for this! 😊
No problem. Glad it was helpful! 😊
💕 great video! Thank you! 💕
Anytime, thanks for watching. Appreciate it 👍🏻
I heard this is a waste of money and it's better to DIY your own, what do you think? I bought this kit just to try it out, my tank has plants that don't require co2 and it's not overly planted, so I figured the kit would be fine to put some co2 into the water once in a while.
In new to fish but the ph levels are high on my water dp I hot drift wood and almond leaves. I have fake plants though except duckweed.😊
do you ofTen pronounce the T in listen? :)
They respond less to light changes and more to air pressure and water parameter changes, If you have weather loaches or asian cat fish of any kind you can observe some interesting behaviour prior to heavy rain fall
Yes I did a video last year discussing that very topic, all about the influences of fish behaviour based on different types of weather, it was really fascinating to research. 👌🏻
Nice
Thank you 😊
Interesting topic right! Agree with me on this or not? 👇
lol Natura?"
Indeed so! 👌🏻
Is that light waterproof
There's a few on display through this video, all have a small tolerance to water like splashes etc but I wouldn't recommend getting them soaking wet or submerging.
Great informative video. 🙏
Thank you. 👊🏻
Very good brake down on everything I run the Nicrew 50 Led for my saltwater tank to bad they don’t have that in the system for the Reef lighting
No worries and yes I agree. Would be a good feature to have on a reef tank. Provided it could be done in a way that limits the stress for fish like surface cover etc 👌🏻
Bro, please tell me 🙏 what time u change the leaves.
Can be a few different times that are good, when PH increases etc. Ultimately when you wish would be my suggestion. Some suggest waiting until the previous leaves have broken down, some replenish after a couple of weeks. As always just be mindful of the effects of PH if you do add them more frequently.
Thank u for the info. I’m over feeding.
What if my water is already softer?
Tannins definitely benefit more than just soft water. Help reduce line of sight which makes fish less stressed. Leaves help to create that natural habitat etc. I have a couple of videos on my channel listing all the benefits worth checking out 👍🏻
@@MrBrightfryed oh great! mega thanks!
Anytime, I hope some of my videos help you. 👌🏻
What's your experience with natural versus artificial setups in your fish tank? Have you noticed a difference in your fish's behavior or health?
Finally something with common sense, not only aquascaping tutorial which is pack as much plants as you can and setup is ready, but something you can and should learn!
Thanks mate. Appreciate it and yes completely agree. Look forward to sharing my next video I think you'll enjoy it if you liked this one for sure 👍🏻
Thanks for this video! Gives me something to think about when starting a new aquarium. I think even though fish are captive breed they still have the wild side of them in their genes.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you found the video helpful and that it's giving you some great ideas for your new aquarium!
What not to do. lol that bonsai wood is going to tear that fishes fins and tail up in no time.
@OrlandoFigueiredo há 44 segundos Hi! Thanks for this serie on blackwater aquariums I'm learning a lot I would like to know your opinion about using aquarium soil and carpeting plants along with blackwater. I'm setting up an 40L aquarium for a betta fish and I'm hesitating a planted clear water aquarium or a more tainted by tannins water. If I opt for the tainted water, I guess I'll not be using aquarium soil and will rely on epiphytes, right? Thanks you.
How long does it last a cylinder
Depends on how much it's been set to use. Roughly on my heavily planted tank about 3-4 weeks. 👍🏻
Can you turn off at night safely? Or is it on 24 hours?
No you can't turn it off unfortunately, that's the downside to these systems.
Can you turn of at night
No, it's the downside to non pressurised systems.
You can add creeping oak fig along the sides of the rubber tubing and java moss directly on top of the water feature to create a more immersive look
Fantastic idea, I've been thinking of what I can do to cover the pipe better and the fig might just work, thanks for the tips!👍
love that idea and the video editing was really good ill be here for the next video keep up the good work man 👍
Thanks for the kind words and feedback. Rally appreciate it. Been working hard on my editing etc so thanks 👌🏻
my pea puffers prefer live black worms over live blood worms
Interesting I'll have to give them a go sometime 👍🏻
What Should I Add To the Setup Next? 🤔
Small oscars and red tail shark minnow or angel fish with some rocks
😂😂😂😂 You'd be surprised with how many people would do that!
looks good mate keep the videos coming
Thanks bro. Appreciate it as always 👌🏻
I have guava leaves in my tank
Great choice, I love Guava leaves! Thanks for sharing👍
All my pods just created thick string algea :(
Was it a white fur? If so it's biofilm. Perfectly normal and a great food source for shrimp and fish 👌🏻
question, i have a tank with a bristlenose plecos, 3 yoyo loaches, and a senegal bichir, its technically already blackwater due to all the wood and tannins but how would i go about siphoning out gunk if i have a large amount of leaves and botanicals at the bottom of the tank
Hi sounds great to me. Personally I wouldn't syphon anything out. All those decaying items are massively beneficial to the food web you are building. They provide nutrients to the tank, food for bottom dwelling fish and fuel for the aquarium itself. Check out some of my other videos if you want to know more as I go into more details. Especially the food web one! 👍🏻
@@MrBrightfryed i figured as much, but one huge thing we learn as fishkeepers from the very beginning is that siphoning all of that gunk out is pretty important as otherwise it will break down into ammonia and cause some pretty big issues, would you say this is a myth or more-so just not the truth under specific conditions
It's finding the balance, when your aquarium first starts out it's still in it's infancy, the beneficial bacteria is still growing within the aquarium. Leaves being organic matter are considered a form of bioload to the aquarium which like fish will cause effects to the water quality. It';s always best to go slow to begin with an build gradually to avoid spikes in PH etc. Obviously size of tank, what mechanical filtration you have, water hardness etc will effect how well your aquarium handles bioload so take it slow and gradual. If worried test separately and see how the leaves effect the water in your area or test the aquarium water and monitor it's effects by adding one leaf and see how you go same with them breaking down.
I recently started adding leaves, pods etc. to my tanks. My fish and shrimp are loving it. Thanks for the info!
No problem. Glad to hear you are enjoying the benefits of them. Keep up the great work 🍂
Really well done James The editing and scripting payed off 👍👍
Thanks alot. Really appreciate it. Took a long time to put this one tother especially the editing part. 😀
@@MrBrightfryed I tried the scripting it’s a art in itself Think I’ll stick to bullet points until I get better
Fascinating 💙
Isn't it just. Funny how alot of this part of the hobby is not easily documented. Took some digging I can tell you!
👍👍
Thanks 👋🏻
Hi! Incredible work, it looks fantastic! What program/app are you using to sync and link the lights, water pumps, and other things? I would like to replicate it in my Paludarium. Thanks!
Thanks alot. No app for thr light just a feature that comes with it. The pump and fog machine were connected to a smart plug so I could either set a timer or in the case of the video toggle the on switch via an app on my phone. 👍🏻
Very good video, but water changes every 2 weeks as a general rule is quite complicated - in some cases it's simply not enough
I agree at the beginning when the aquarium is in it's infancy as bacteria is maturing but gradually over time I feel the need for frequent water changes can be reduced or even just left to top up's.
