Chris Merkley question: what kind of cable did you use from the Amp to the Suhr Reactive? And from what jack of the amp comes that cable from? Thanks! im a newbie

It needs to be a speaker cable plugged into the 8 Ohm speaker out on your amp.

@@julyguitar-x8c sorry for the late reply, I didn’t get the notification for some reason! Amp to Suhr is a speaker cable. I’m sorry I didn’t quite understand the second question?

@@chrismerkley223 I think I‘ve answered this. It’s coming from an 8 Ohm speaker output on the amp.

The USB port is just to load other ir’s right ? No need to be connected all the time? Thanks 🙏🏻

Correct :) to either delete the pre loaded or add 3rd party IR’s. Other wise no need to connect it.

How can I get a DI signal from my guitar at the same time as my amp signal in case I want to change the tone in reaper later so I have a DI track? Also do I plug this right into the focusrite?

Good question! So when you look at the back you have thru, un filtered and IR. So to make your signal go to your cab you’d run a speaker cable from the thru to your cab. Then you’d run a speaker cable from either unfiltered (which would have zero IR from the Suhr) or IR (which would have the IR in the signal) straight into your focusrite. Keep in mind this is still all down stream from your amp head or any pedals you may have so say you’re running a drive pedal that will be in the DI recording. Side note based on your comment I got the feeling you wanted a complete unaltered sound from your guitar that doesn’t touch your amp head. In which case an easy solution would be to run an A/B/Y pedal. So guitar to the aby with the y engaged. Then one signal straight to your focusrite and other signal to the amp/Suhr. Then you could have three signals (assuming you mic your cab) to blend, reamp, and shape as you please

Chris, what kind of cable did you use to go from the Suhr RL IR into your interface? Is that a regular guitar cable or is that a microphone cable with 1/4" ends?

Its a line out right, so any instrument cable will work. Speaker cables are non insulated.

@@chrismerkley223that’s not the right cable type. Needs to be either instrument (TS) or a symmetrical (TRS). For short cable lengths, either one works.

That’s correct, it should be a regular 1/4 there :)
