Would there be windows on the house on the sides of the basement? Weren't these houses built in terrasses one after another with a shared wall? Great job so far on your build.

Just an idea to save money might be to "render" the basement and keep the bricks for the house above. Bricks are also easy to make out of sand paper and different shades of paint. Good luck with your build.

Re your problem placing the coving so it's against the ceiling: I would remove the roof piece for now, then cut a piece of MDF that's about 2 inches deep and covers the room side to side. This becomes your pretend ceiling. Then you can get there to stick your coving and you know where the ceiling will be for placement. If you place the coving a tad high you can use the MDF piece to gently push it in to place by just lying it on the top where the ceiling will be. Just move the the MDF piece around the top as you fix on the coving. I hope that makes sense. By the way I'm enjoying your videos very much.

Just watching your video. Welcome back. I have a similar room in my house. If you leave the fireplace and that back wall loose, fit the floor infront on some 1mm card. Then when you want Acess to that back room pull out the floor fireplace and back wall. Then when you are done put everything back in place and use a little museum putty to hold it all in place

I truly detest amatures, for anyone actually interested in building dolls house (from kit) CORRECTLY* you should decorate the house BEFORE building it,ALWAYS seal the wood before wallpapering it becomes the wood is MDF so its absorbant and the wallpaper will peel off in time, install lights DURING the building process.

This is definately too big of a challenge for me at this stage so I am starting small with a one room diorama of a bakery/sweets shoppe and it's been so much fun creating it so I will be moving to a dollhouse next (on a MUCH smaller scale lol) Those stairs DO NOT look fun but great job!

I did mention that as an option in the video about decorating the outside but it's still brick powder and so it still adds a fair bit of weight to the house. The other downside is that it's all one colour so you have to then paint over to age the bricks to the style and age I wanted
