Hi ! The Silhouette Studio software covers all their machines. The actions in the software are the same. This video is an old version of it. The differences lay mostly on what you are going to create in the end. Cutting, Embossing, Stippling, etc. With that in mind, check out videos that address what you want exactly to make. This video, I agree, shows too quicly how to do the manoeuvres and I think is not thoroughly mastered. The small vertical lines that show up in the design after welding mean that the two letters are not close enough for the software to weld them together. Ungrouping before welding would be the solution, then moving the first closer to the second with a slight overlap would resolve the welding issue. Hope I made myself clear... As for the Free Font website : www.fontspace.com and in the search bar type Pattern. Voilà !

Hi there, sorry about the belated response. Silhouette software has a learning curve and some people might say is not as user friendly. I highly recommend Silhouette School website for all things silhouette and lots of in depth tutorials and there’s also many facebook groups like Silhouette Curio Creations on facebook. When I created this video I was learning myself but I wanted to help others because I saw a lack of tutorials on these machines. Good luck, I hope this helps!!!

Yes, to cut use the mat that has the grid, if is not too sticky use some tape to secure it, also lowering the cutting speed should help keeping your material in place. Settings for htv are: blade setting 2, thickness 5, speed 7.

What l use is Gilders Wax to darken, I would not say it’s waterproof but is long lasting.

The vinyl used in this video is permanent adhesive vinyl works for solid surfaces only. For t shirts you would need iron on vinyl/heat transfer vinyl which this machines cuts as well. There’s many brands of heat transfer vinyl, but I recommend Siser Easyweed.

Witchy_Pagan333 It will depend on the size of your base the small base you can cut pieces of vinyl 6” x 8.5” and with the large base 8.5” x. 12”. Yes heat transfer vinyl can be applied with an iron or a heat press.

Yes, this permanent vinyl but hand wash only do not put in dishwasher.

Oracal permanent vinyl sticky side up, on the platform and then I place the cardstock template on top.

@@edniperez if it's cardstock under the pendant how does it stay?

My mistake I haven’t engraved these in a while. In this case I used the Picscan mat and just a piece of Oracal permanent adhesive vinyl sticky side up right on the mat. ( no cardstock template ) But if you want to know how to make the templates/jig I have another video on that, when you make a template you don’t need a Pixscan mat.

I think I depends on the gauge of the stainless steel piece. And in my experience is really difficult to get a deep etch on SS, I always get more like a laser engraved finish.

Yes you can use a small bar, i’ve tried copper, acrylic and stainless steel. With SS you get more of a laser etched look. My favorite brand to work with is Impressart.

I don't think these could cut metal,, you could probably emboss or stipple on tin. Let me know if you achieve it!!!
