Should I Ice an Injury? Sports medicine advice
I can't believe without surgery it cant be recover❤ from 🇮🇳
Depends on the type of tear and proper physical therapy.
I doubted that I have gout into my knees. I practice karate and I got strange injury in both of my knees, without doing a wrong action! I got declofenac but I still feel uncomfortable and now after 6 months I'm unable to start again my training. And the pain increases after eating some foods like red meat and pumpkin seeds and I realized no pain after drinking ginger and lemon Give me an advice doc please What should I do I'm 36 Thank you
What did you do with the Ginger?
@@chadalferez I only put it the whole night into water and drink it in the morning. 1 T spoon in half liter of water with little slices of lemon. Right now did that to drink it tomorrow I'm still trying it not sure about that But when I read I found Ginger and lemon are good for inflammation and for gout.
@@youzeri Thank you, try moringa also it could help. because it worked with mine
@@chadalferez welcome my friend!
@@chadalferez small spoon 🥄 not the big one that's too much
Awesome! Tore mine and going non surgical just one week in

Can it cause synovial reactions in long term?
No reported cases of this
What types does this work for?
Works well in arthritis
I have a small full thickness tear. My surgery is scheduled for the 30th of September. How long should I expect to be out of work? I work heavy labor.
I tell my patients at least 3 months

As a pitcher, that's not correct...
Please give your perspective. Thanks!
I'm one of them! Only found out after tearing for the 3rd time :(
Sorry to hear that. Hope you are recovered and doing well.
Feeling discouraged... week 2 have chosen to do none surgery 🙏
Hang in there! I’ve been through it myself. It’s hard but you can do it!
I did this today. Went from being on crutches to walking slowly without them. Such a relief!
Glad it worked for you!
How many months does it take for a complete recovery without surgery??
How long does it take to recover from this I recently dislocated my shoulder playing basketball
What’s the difference between orthopedic general surgeons and a specialist and what do they do why wouldn’t someone just go to a specialist if they have like a broken hand why would they go to a general orthopedic? And do you get to choose if your on call or on duty
Subspecialists have extra training in a particular area of ortho. Sometimes these doctors aren’t available in someone’s area. A patient gets treated by the on call doctor.
I would like to know your thoughts on the management of partial rotator cuff tears. I have got a partial tear in my supraspinatus 7x6mm on the articular surface confirmed via ultrasound. I injured myself during martial arts, I heard a popping sound but no immediate pain and then the following day experienced severe pain and unable to move my shoulder. I am in my early 20's and active across multiple sports. I am being advised to do conservative management by my general practitioner through physiotherapy and rest. I am hopeful this can give me a good outcome, but from the literature and expert opinions I have reviewed it seems that the census is that tendons do not heal and at best I can hope the other muscules within my shoulder can be strengthened to reduce the load placed on my injured tendon, and partial tears are at high risk of becoming full tears. However as I come from an active background my shoulder is already stronger and more developed than the general population and my injury is symptomatic despite my surrounding shoulder muscles being strong already so I am unsure on the merit of physiotherapy. Additionally due to how young I am and my desire to do sports and activities I feel the risk of it progressing to a full tear is high and that would result in a worse outcome. I can understand you can not offer me specific advice, but I have provided my own background info to show why I'm interested in the topic, but if you could provide some general advice on: Your thoughts on the management of partial rotator cuff tears and what you have seen in your own practice? Have you seen non surgical conservative management be successful? Do you believe the tendon can heal over time? Have you seen, or do you believe there is significant risk of partial tears progressing to full tears?
Great question. Tears do not heal and tend to progress over time. Hard to predict the rate. But young healthy patients who do PT and hs e relief typically do well in my experience.
When did You fisrt restart running after injury?
I'm complaining and trying to take mine off. I only have to wear it for 2 weeks. Just find a way to make it more comfortable 😅
Keep with it! Almost there.
I’m actually at the crossroads right now….. Either have the surgery or not…. What do you suggest for me???
I can’t provide specfic medical advice, but in general, no surgery requires strict PT program.
@@phillipwilliamsmd I decided to go the surgical route. Wednesday, morning is my scheduled appointment for the surgery. Thx! I appreciate your input.
Do you have more information on your recover journey? I'm 2 weeks out from my rupture.
Cartilage procedure. Please elaborate in next short. Is this bone on bone or defect in existing cartilage?
Great question. There are many different cartilage procedures but none of them are for bone on bone.
@@phillipwilliamsmd Thanks, Doc! Appreciate your time.
What distance did You run 1 year later?
Marathon
Great! And when did You start first running after rupture? ( I have the same injury).
@Alex73777 about 6-7 months
The forbidden juice
Cutting patients open and prescribing drugs is not being a Doctor. You have been lied to and you bought it brother. God made us in his image . Everything we need to have a healthy robust life is here . Diet is 95% of our health..both physical and mental. Taking the “ magic potions “ is witchcraft. Unless something is physically broken or deformed ( probably because of a toxic diet or artificial substance ) medical intervention is totally unnecessary. If you don’t understand Chiropractic, then don’t be a lazy ass and study it. Study Functional medicine , study reiki, study energy healing, yoga, meditation…they all actually work . You have become a slave of the Rockefeller crime cartel dude. They approved all you have been taught…
What about PCL and Posterolateral corner. What do you recommend?
PCL reconstruction with allograft and posterolateral corner reconstruction
My knee cracked right when the short started... Can confirm sounds like gravel😢
My knees have been cracking since I was 8, now all of my other joints seem to be cracking. Shoulders, wrist, hip, ankles etc. Happens multiple times daily. Anything I need to do about it?
Nothing unless there is pain. Not a concern
@@phillipwilliamsmd thanks there is no pain, only sometimes in my knees nowadays
"think of it like a gravel road" Yup, as a guy who's every joint has been popping for a decade: know how to traverse those motions. If you xan get from point A to point B easily? Don't strain it. Do 100 on that road? You'll realize why it had a speed limit while laid up.
💯
Yeah Im a teenager and often worried because it happens daily. Thankfully it’s not something to worry about.
No worries
Is it Achilles tendon totally rupture possible fix without surgery?
Yes. With proper physical therapy.
@@phillipwilliamsmd I didn't know. I already pass surgery for total achilles rupture. Today is week eighth. I did on 27april
Wait ..THATS A SHORT CAST ? :o
Yes. Short cast.
ahhh man, one question i have is how do you handle pain, mentaly a push to do that rep. I try to avoid injury but i question myself if im too afraid
Never go beyond your limits or push too much without proper warmup.
I had a surgery on my left Achilles back in 2008 and I feel great. Now my right Achilles is torn. I feel that having the surgery will make me feel more confident on future physical activities. Does anyone had a second achilles tendon tear after surgery? Thanks in advance 👍
Sorry to hear about your injury. Yes, bilateral Achilles tears does happen. Good luck!
I tore my MCL off the femur and because of insurance changed it's been 1½ years I've been trying to get surgery is it worth it now or not? I use a brace to keep my knee from hyper extending and have knee pain 24-7
If you still have knee issues that affect you regularly, it’s worth getting it check out.
Interesting!
I went to my ortho with terrible shoulder blade pain. He thought neck too. Sent me to surgeon who did neck surgery. But didnt resolve. Unfortunately only then did I go for 2nd opinion and the dr. did MRI of shoulder and according to him it "my shoulder was a mess." Had to have reverse rotator cuff. Im still dealing with pain and going to a shoulder clinic in Lexington Kentucky. Only place to get help with shoulder blade dyskinesis. I live in Alabama. Had the first doctor done MRI of the shoulder this could have been avoided.
Sorry to hear about your difficult experience. Hope you’re doing better.
THANKS, I get shoulder blade pain.
Hope you feel better
How do you treat it sir
Shoulder stabilization surgery if dislocations continue
Is muscle atrophy reversible in the calf after achilles injury? Were you able to get your size calf back pre-injury?
Great question. In theory the atrophy is reversible with surgery and appropriate rehab. Without surgery, it’s extremely hard. My injured leg is still smaller and I don’t think it will ever be the same size.
HONEY I DONT USE BRACES. YOU SURE ARE A CUTIE. 🎉 I NEED A DOCTOR ❤

I got 1 Friday missing my flag season 😭
I had to get this a week ago and I broke my ankle pole vaulting and it sucks, it keeps rubbing against my heel. Any tips to prevent it from hurting?
Got one yesterday , it’s purple for a hairline fracture in the inside of my ankle 😅 missing cheer tryouts now too
Speedy recovery
Any help would be a huge help. Was it a full tear? And how was your range of motion and ability to push off after? I have a partial tear and looking at my MRI it seems that my tendon could be healing a little long. Haven’t seen too much information on Achilles Tendon healing long. Thanks 🙏🏼
I had a full tear. I was in a cast then a boot for 2 months and went slow with rehab. My leg is still a little weak but it’s fine for what I do.
Hi, can you tell me the exact manufacturer or model number of this robotic arm?
It’s really just a hydraulic arm. Arthrex Trimano.
thanks@@phillipwilliamsmd
