Jimi Hendrix 70th Anniversary Octavio Demo
Haven't uploaded in a long time, so I figured for my first video back I would make a demo of a pedal I've really been enjoying using lately - the Dunlop 70th Anniversary Hendrix Octavio.
Amp Used: Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10

Testing out my new Bugera V5 Infinium with a few different guitars and pedals. Really is a great sounding amp for a very reasonable price.

Great demo, cheers
Is this ok for humbuckers? As I've heard it's more suited to single coils
Well he's playing a humbucker guitar so yeah, according to the video it's ok for humbuckers :D
I have the buggy v5 also. I play single coils, I've heard humbuckers are a little bit too muddy or dark on the amp. It's tough to hear thru the recording. Any input?
Ye recommended to replace speaker
I have the V5. BEST 5W amp there is. I mean, the 57' Champ actually is, but it's a 1,000$. It's not 5 times better than the v5
Great playing. Big Sound
how's it sound by itself
I use mine with a strat and have been wondering how a 335 would sound with it. This demo helped so much!
How is it today? How many times have you had to change the tubes?
I’m wondering how this amp would sound playing my Epi Casino through it ? Someone has a H&k tubemeister 5 combo so I’m going for one of them.Love the playing :)
I'm sure it would sound good - really is an impressive amp for the price. Given it's not what I use everyday, but it's great to have in the lineup to just jam at a reasonable volume w/ solid tones.
@@jamesmunro6863 I didn’t notice you was playing a semi hollow as I was watching on a phone. It sounds great how is it with pedals ?
I’m gonna steal those settings
Nice. Thank you :)
This amp sounds good.
Very nice 👍🏻
Thanks for the demo...
Ey! Subed and Like!👍👍👍!
These things love single coils as well, very punchy. Mic it up and it's phenomenal.
Why mic it up?
mic too close..
Very nice! Which version of the Deja Vibe are you using, the cream one?
Great playing. The bummer about the amp for me is that it's a "Bugera made by Behringer". Behringer doesn't have a very good reputation for reliability in guitars, amps, or effects and their low prices reflect it. For $100, you can load up a pedalboard with used Behringer effects and, in my case, a brand new $27 delay pedal arrived DOA. I threw it away and ordered a Boss. I also don't know why Bugera is the only company that puts a LOT of focus on extending tube life. In most amps, tubes last a LONG time. Plus, they're inexpensive, easy to change, and gigging guitarists usually carry spares. Maybe Bugera amps aren't biased correctly at the factory and go through tubes quickly.
Hey, this amp is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!
Awsome brother. Sounds great
How does the amp produce sound when volume set to zero 0:34?
i think its just b-roll clip, the volume is in 0:13
Lovely bit of playing man..keep it up, was a pleasure to listen
00:40
Tasty👌
Is it all tube ? how is the attenuator ?
Thanks. It's amazing how common it is to hear a few Hendrix riffs in guitar/amp reviews and this one had a less referenced one at the end.
nice to hear how the es 339 sound with the bugera, i have exactly the same guitar and thinking to buy the bugera g5 together with 112 cabinet. my other guitar is a dobro style resonator , but still beginner
Nice sound! I just ordered this amp with a gretsch double jet.
Im having issues with My V5 sounding super muddy no matter what I do. Ive tried to keeping it clean and tried a few guitars. I wonder if it needs to be broken in more or something. I am not getting any clarity like you are here. Everything sounds like its muffled.
Chris Saintmire did you buy it online? As long as you get these in person and make sure it's not a dud they're superb but they are a bit inconsistent given it's a budget amp
@Bodgie1960 Agreed. I put a jj ax7 in mine. Got a better top end. High gain became greasier and smoother. More pleasant to the ear.
Hey man, having used this amp with pedals, do you think it could produce stoner/doom metal tones for practice/recording purposes?
Hey, I think you might have some trouble trying to get those type of tones out of the amp for recording. Using my fuzz or distortion through the amp can start to get a bit muffled when I start to up the volume. You might be able to find a fine line with it, but I would say most amps with a single 1x10 speaker aren't ideal for that type of tone.
James Munro thanks for the update. I read that it "could take pedals" but I didn't know to what degree.
This amp is great with pedals, but for a great metal tone I recomend you to use at least a 1x12" external cab. I use my Bugera V5 with a 2x12" cab and it really shines. The stock 8" speaker sounds really nice for vintage and classic tones, but for heavier stuff I preffer to use the external cab. I have a Metal Muff, Metal Zone, Crunch Box and you can really use this amp to play any kind of metal with good tone at bedroom levels.
Victor Von Belmont so if you had to choose between the Bugera v5 and the Vox Ac4tv, which would you choose? I will bring practicing blues/70s rock and doom metal.
I would go with the V5 (especially if you want to use the amp as a pedal platform) because it has independent "gain" and "Volume" knobs, so it gives you way more flexibility controlling headroom and saturation. You can saturate the pre at low volume, or keep the amp clean at higher volumes. The AC4tv has only a main volume knob, so you saturate the pre and power sections at the same time, so if you want cleans you need to play at low volume, and if you want overdrive you need to play at high volume. Also the AC4tv dosn't have reverb. Anyway, if you have the oportunity, try both. Other option if you have the budget is the Laney Cub 12r, because it already has a 12" speaker, 3 band EQ and FX Loop, and can work at 15W and 1W
what pedals are you using?
I know that with the strat I was using a fulltone deja vibe, but I am not 100% with the rest of the video. I know for the majority it was just straight into the amp with me tweaking the settings, but there may have been a few times where I kicked in a boss bd-2 for a boost or an animal overdrive.
thank you
great playing
Hello James, ¡Great demo! ¿ What pedals are you using when playing whith the epiphone? Thanks
Hey, thank you. If I recall correctly I was actually not using any pedals for the majority of the demo, just messing with the amp settings. There may have been a few times that I kicked in a boss blues driver bd-2 for a bit of boost, and possibly an animal overdrive at some point.
bugera v5 infinium or Laney cub 12r ? if i have enough budget for both . i need amp for pratice at bedroon . thankyou
I'm not too familiar with the Laney, but I can say I am still happy with my bugera as my bedroom amp after months of having it. It sounds great at low volumes for a reasonable price
I have the Bugera V5, but in your situation maybe I would take the Laney Cub 12r because of the 12" speaker and the 3-band EQ. Bugera sounds really nice, but it needs at leats a 12" speaker to really shine. I use mine with a 2x12 cab.
What is name of pedal that you use with stratocaster?
I was using the fulltone deja vibe with the stratocaster
nice amp. great picking. good demo.
Thank you!
I somehow keep coming back to this video, not because of the amp, but because of the blues piece you start at 0:15 I love it!
Thanks! I appreciate it. Looking to start doing some more demo's of gear.
@@jamesmunro6863 you definitely should do that
That's a BB lick
does it have a line in aux for mp3 backing track or whatever?
centravanti no
finally someone who understands how to mic an amp. Good demo.
Does it have a line out to connect to a mixer for recording and silent band practice? Nice chops btw
I'm not at home with the amp right now, but I don't believe there is a line out - just a headphones jack in the back. I'll double check when I get home. And thank you!
Nice demo. It sounds like it handles pedals well. How eq'd was that demo?

Sorry on the late reply. It actually does take pedals surprisingly well. No EQ at all actually.
Very Cool !!!
