Fort Casso (fort Rohrbach) is the best WW2 fort I have ever visited. This shows a fully restored and working Maginot line fort. It is classed as a "Petit ouvrage". Original WW1 German sniper armour which ive not seen before. Its pretty thick armour. Was visiting Fort Pompelle and found this armour which is a rare find - so I thought I would post it up for anyone else who may be interested in German Snipers of WW1 as ive never seen this before in the flesh only books/movies.

Rock climbing in Cornwall about a 6c/7a ish. Rock was granite and thus crystals very sharp on the hands. First time there climbing - great views and interesting rocks. yep - they are an amazing collection - they are in perfect condition and its so good they are now preserved/looked after as they are an interesting historic items. I wasnt expecting to see them where they were - ie a small unknow French fort. I think they should be in a formal museum for more people to see.

There’s one of these at slapton sands southern England. It’s a memorial to American soldiers who were ambushed by a German convoy while training for d day.
Thanks for that - sounds like a good place to visit and see the memorial. Its important that the stories of the soldiers are not forgotten nor their sacrifice.

Hello - It used to have another floor where the walkway is. Stores would have been above and below this other layer. Looked to be perhaps a chimney in one side so maybe used for accommodation.
The upper level and roof level was fully fitted out as we stayed there for a week - bedrooms, living room, kitchen etc.
