"almost caused me to miss the green light" 😭😭
y u running a yellow
Why is that a problem?
Well given that you were speeding to beat a red light and that he likely couldn't even see you when he started the turn... yeah you need to slow down dude.
In my defense, I have had to wait extremely long periods of time here before (sometimes up to six minutes). According to my calculations, I was not actually speeding: (3 car lengths * 15 feet/car length) * (1 mile/5,280 feet) * (3,600 seconds/hour/1.2 seconds) = 25.568 miles per hour (the speed limit before the light is 30 MPH, and the speed limit after the light is 40 MPH) Also, the other car had a pretty clear space to see me coming, so it's on them to yield while turning on a red light. Here is the video showing the brokenness of the light sensor: ua-cam.com/video/PnVEPHA2wes/v-deo.htmlsi=9g-UDUZdgxHWUdMM
@@connor13666 leave sooner
@@kevincat2What in the world is that supposed to mean?
@@connor13666 "extremely long periods of time here before (sometimes up to six minutes)" earlier for instance.
@kevincat2 That has absolutely nothing to do with "leaving sooner." That instance was also caused by the fact that another car in front of me failed to pull up enough to trigger the horribly misplaced sensor on a separate occasion. Your previous comment makes absolutely no sense and does not fit the context of this video at all.
You should have slowed down and stopped when the light turned yellow. You almost ran a red light.
I don't think that's the main issue here. I don't remember how fast I was going, but the speed limit after the light is 40 MPH. Also, the car turning from the other road should have yielded since their light was obviously red at the time.
You should have stopped. The light turned red in the intersection - that means you had enough time. You always need to drive defensively.
@arnereykowski1985 I completely disagree with you. I started accelerating a bit more before the light turned yellow, and going through the intersection on a yellow light does not break any law. It was completely on the other driver to check if they were clear to turn right on a red light, and I did nothing wrong here, having broken no laws.
@@connor13666 you can disagree with me, that is your right. But your way of entitled driving will eventually get you into an accident and you will learn the hard way that it will be partially your fault. Drive defensively.
@arnereykowski1985 Your argument is, "running yellow lights is bad and makes you an entitled driver." There isn't much substance to that, and I have never talked to anyone who thinks that. In fact, my driving instructor told me that it is the driver's discretion whether to go or stop on a yellow light. You are obviously entitled to make different driving decisions, but I firmly stand by mine. I simply do not see what the problem is in running a yellow light, as nobody has ever been honked or stopped by police for it before. Regardless of that, the other driver should not have turned right on a red light without properly yielding to the cross-traffic which did not have a red light.
This shouldn’t even be on UA-cam and it shows you really have no life for taking the time for uploading it. The white car should have entered the main road when it knew the SUV was trying to enter the driveway The SUV did nothing wrong , they entered a tight space slowly and safely, from you prospective you can tell the white car didn’t leave much space for anyone to enter the driveway as they likely weren’t thinking someone would try to enter as they are trying to exit. And from your POV what? You’re mildly inconvenienced?
@ because you posted a 3 minute video, UA-cam algorithm brought it to me, unfortunately, and I waited 2:50 to watch a car make a safe right turn. At least edit the video to the part you’re referencing. And actually no, the car clearly could have exited when it understood the SUV made it clear it was turning.
Why is this on YT? Nothing happened. Likely that driver was making sure they could complete the turn....
The car turning into that apartment complex created a severe delay in the right lane that nobody in any other lane experienced. The extremely slow turn was also quite unexpected. This is far from a "nothing" incident.
@connor13666 its nothing. This is why you keep adequate distance between you and the car in front of you. 4-5 seconds extra. That's all there was.
@@FedUpKentuckianI wholeheartedly disagree that this was "nothing." I have never encountered this situation before, and I haven't seen it since (as you can tell, this happened over a year ago). The oddity of this is what makes it notable and far from "nothing."
@connor13666 I have been driving since 1996. This has happened to me numerous times. You move on from it. Its seriously not a big deal.
@FedUpKentuckian I don't know how you could have encountered this situation so many times. This remains the only time I've seen this in two and a half years of driving; at this rate, you would have encountered this eleven or twelve times. If you really don't think this is a big deal, you wouldn't have commented here in the first place, and you wouldn't keep responding to my replies.
Had someone do this to me a couple weeks ago, unfortunately for me the lady behind me wasn't pay attention and was rear ended by them. Damage wasn't bad, both of us were fine, we both agreed to go on with our day.
I consider myself lucky that I didn't get into a crash, but I did consider myself unprepared in this moment since I am a relatively new driver (I first started driving as a student driver on May 31, 2022). Thank you for sharing your story.
@connor13666 yeah i also started around that time. Funny enough it happened to me again; someone taking a garany turn, noticed the guy behind me not slowing down so i pumped the brakes thus flashing my brake lights and he missed me 🥶.
@@PlumbCarton5607 Flashing your brake lights is actually a very smart strategy. If this incident or the one you described happened to me today, I would just start braking once I see the brake lights of the car in front of me. Though, I do think there may be a widespread issue of people not paying enough attention, even with more driving experience than us, especially if this has happened to you multiple times.
@@connor13666 that's exactly why aftermarket third brake light flashers are getting popular. I plan on installing one on my car sometime soon that only flashes on hard braking but if you're wanting to do the same be sure to look at your local laws
@@PlumbCarton5607 I don't have the money to get an after-market modification on my car, but I agree that the flashing brake lights are extremely helpful, whether or not the driver behind you is paying attention.

Illegal turn by the camera driver. 1:11 turned into the far lane changing lanes in intersection
Which specific clause in the traffic code says that it is illegal?
@ look it up in your own state. But in neary every state i have known the law is you have to turn i to the same corresponding lane, and not doing so constitutes changing lanes in the intersection, which again is generally unlawful in almost all states.

You would commit suicide if you lived in any of the boroughs of NYC.
If I lived in New York City, I would either use taxis or walk from place to place.
You mean you had to wait 11 seconds? With cars legally parked on a residential street? Outrageous!
Firstly, eleven seconds is a much longer wait time than usual (about 2-3 seconds). Secondly, if you didn't think this was a big deal, then why did you take the time to leave a comment here?
@@connor13666 Firstly, yes 11 seconds is longer than 2-3 seconds. You've figured out how numbers work. Congratulations. Secondly, it must be a big deal since YOU took the time to clip it from your dashcam and post it. Welcome to the internet.
Left lane is for passing on ALL streets. Slower traffic KEEP RIGHT applies to ANY road. Its just common sense and courtesy for other drivers so they dont have to pas on the right. The world doesnt revolve around you..
1. I turned left at the second light after this video. You don't see it due to the three-minute recording limit of my dashcam. 2. It makes no sense to wait in another lane if I am turning left eventually, as I may be unable to change left in due time, causing me to miss my turn. 3. What I am doing in this video is no different from what nearly every local does. You see people in left lanes all the time, regardless of how far they may be from a left turn. 4. My driving instructor told me, "Always turn into the inside lane," meaning be in the left lane after left turns. This implies that the left lane is not for passing only on non-highways. 5. If you search "highway" on Google Photos, you will notice zero traffic lights. This implies that roads with traffic lights do not count as "highways." 6. If I need to turn left in the middle of rush hour and can't find a clear space to change left, I would just miss my turn. Your alternative leaves whether or not I can make left turns up to pure luck. 7. You don't see any "left lane for passing only" signs on this road. If your logic applied here, then a number of these signs would have appeared. Your "common sense" is completely illogical, and you would see this if you have ever driven yourself. As a final challenge, why don't you record every commute of yours for a month using your logic and see how that works out for you?
You may wanna move outta the left lane hoss.
This is not a freeway. Nobody actually cares whether I or anybody else is in the left lane.
Not according to your comment section. I've driven in 46 states, accumulated over 400k lifetime miles, and I don't have these problems. I'm not going to tell you how to drive, but driving like this will upset some other drivers.@connor13666
Absolutely nobody I have talked to outside of UA-cam thinks there is a problem with being in the left lane on a non-highway. I don't know what you mean by "I don't have these problems," but I believe the other people with a problem with what I did in this video are UA-cam trolls lacking common sense. If I am traveling on a street like this in rush hour traffic, I refuse to miss a left turn because of this nonsensical issue.
You're uploading videos on a public platform and are getting defensive in the comments. Nobody is liking your comments on this video meaning others are disagreeing with you. You keep right unless you're passing. Own your mistake. It's not the end of the world.@connor13666
@Tom-o4c Where is your logic? You are making no sense here. As I said, I turned left soon after the end of this video. What do you expect me to do, miss an infinite amount of left turns? If so, then you should try out your own logic, record it for a month, see how that works out for you, and post it on your UA-cam channel. Otherwise, you are being ridiculous and hypocritical.
Useless aggression? I see people who are being blocked by a slow idiot in the lefthand lane get around them
Obviously, left-lane rules only apply on highways. This is not a highway. That is NOT the problem here. How is this basic principle so poorly understood?
@connor13666 if you know it's going to be a problem, and you still do this, then you're the problem
@@christophermichael7265You misidentified the problem. Being in the left lane is perfectly fine on regular streets. Swerving through traffic is not okay, regardless of the circumstances.

@@greggchaffin1596 You are assuming I was somehow being malicious when I pulled up too much. That is a lie. It was a mistake, and if you want to keep deluding yourself, then I don't know what to say.
That’s beacon they are a shingle place. More than likely just got done delivering shingles to a job site. All the materials for the houses you were passing all came on the back of a semi truck. Some dude in a pickup didn’t bring it all
I'm not sure how I was supposed to know that.
I understand sometimes semi's shouldn't use small roads, but sometimes they have no choice depending on where they are going
I know this area well, so I know that there are several major roads that the truck could take that would make the neighborhood streets much safer for everyone else. I also know that such trucks are prohibited from driving on those roads, as there are signs pointed at cars coming in the opposite direction.
@connor13666 like I said, sometimes and depends on where. Never specified where.
@@peachespie1249 As I said, there are signs expressly prohibiting trucks like that from driving on small streets like that. That truck should have never been on that street in the first place.
@@connor13666 There is no such sign there. The only signs I see are signs about Local Deliveries Only, which it looks like this truck was likely doing with the loader on the back end. Even large trucks sometimes need to go on those smaller residential roads to make deliveries. You had plenty of time to give him room to finish his turn.
They should put something on cars that signals to other drivers when you intend to make a turn.
If you can find a dashcam under $50 that shows turn signals, then I will applaud you.
@@connor13666 Mine shows turn signals perfectly clearly for 8 hours out of the day.
@@tstivers1990Okay, but does your turn signal show clearly in broad daylight? Do they show up visually, or just the sound? Is your dashcam budget-friendly (about $30) like mine? I can never get my turn signal to show up at all during the day, and only about a quarter of the time at night.
@@connor13666 Most dash cams are probably going to have problems with turn signals that originate from newer cars in general. Newer cars are moving to LEDs and LEDs strobe rather than emitting a consistent light. Because cameras are essentially capturing images and assembling them into flip books, and the LED is strobing, you end up with a lot of those images being taken while the LED is in its off state, and not catching the light. Couple that with the fact that turn signals flash by nature, and that's probably why dash cams are having a hard time picking turn signals up. You would have to get something with a higher frame rate to pick up turn signals consistently. IDK what the necessary frame rate is but yeah it's probably gonna cost more than $50. TBF, it's probably worth getting a decent dash cam anyway. The better ones will have better image quality, for picking up plates in suboptimal conditions, better low-light images, parking mode features, etc. I can't complain about my ThinkWare dash cam. Had it for like 5 years now and it has served me well. Just make sure to get an SD card that can handle the constant writing. Most SD cards aren't built for that.
@@tstivers1990It's just I really don't have the money to invest in a better dashcam right now. This one doesn't even have a rear-view feature.
Every single person in this comment section is saying you're doing something wrong. Have you considered driving normally?
@@noquestions9529 I am driving legally. What "normal" driving is nowadays is actually illegal and sometimes dangerous. Why don't you name specific things I have done wrong and suggest safer, legal alternatives?
Dude did absolutely nothing wrong, why even upload this?
As I said in the description, the truck driver chose to accelerate from the stop sign right as I was passing by. If that driver had accelerated any earlier or later, there would be no problem. How is that "doing nothing wrong"?
He 100% failed to yield right of way. Unfortunately, most people will agree with you. It's not surprising as, in my experience, most people on the road are pretty thoughtless and don't think about things like this. That's why my insurance rates keep going up 20 fucking percent every year even though I consistently avoid these thoughtless dorks who buy oversized trucks they don't have the qualifications to drive.
@@tstivers1990I concur, you can clearly see me stop completely at the stop sign about a second and a half before the truck even arrives there. I'm not sure what the original commenter is talking about. Maybe he's a bad driver.
you need to question who put a stop sign in front of a traffic circle, not why people ...... behave normally idk
I don't see how choosing to accelerate from a stop sign at the worst possible time constitutes "normal behavior." I can't say this is a traditional traffic circle, but I can see why you object to the existence of a stop sign there.
Failing to yield right of way isn't normal. I agree, though, whoever made the decision to put stop signs at the entrances to a traffic circle instead of yield signs is a jackass. Traffic circles literally don't work if you have to come to a complete stop before entering them, and can't just match speed with the traffic in the circle and zipper merge smoothly. You're better off with a 4-way intersection, at that point.
@@tstivers1990 I think the circle is there just to show off the local foliage/vegetation. Even besides that, though, these neighborhoods have way too many stop signs, in my opinion. They mostly serve as police traps to raise revenue for the city.
@@connor13666 Yeah it's a bastardization of modern road design. It's like they slapped a traffic circle where an intersection used to be but never bothered to implement the other shit that was supposed to go along with that traffic circle. So you end up with roads that are actually worse than they were when you started, and gain none of the benefits of modern road design lol. For one, you're not supposed to have obstructions in the middle of a traffic circle. You should be able to see everything that's in the circle and approaching it. Hell, that stupid vegetation could be part of the reason the truck pulled out in front of you. Maybe the vegetation was blocking his view of you as he approached the intersection and he pulled out thinking he was the only one at the intersection.
@@tstivers1990To be fair, nobody actually likes that design. But it was a decision made by the neighborhood's homeowners' association, so I don't think it's going away any time soon. FYI, I don't live there anymore.
