Very skeptical about an acquisition, but I could see some sort of partnership maybe. Even that I'm not so sure, as Microsoft seems to be trying to pivot into a service model, and I just don't see how their goals are compatible with Valve's. One of the most important things to remember is Valve is privately owned, so they aren't motivated to maximize shareholder profits the same way most large companies are. As you said, they're already doing fine. Not much reason for them to agree to a buyout. Doubly so because Gabe Newell used to work at Microsoft and has set up Valve with a very different corporate culture. Microsoft has an increasing reputation of meddling/mismanagement of studios they buy, which would be off-putting to Gabe/Valve imo.

You know if Game Pass hadn't existed and filled devoted his attention to selling consoles instead of Game Pass this probably never would have happened to begin with. Microsoft just took control of Xbox and is making it even worse. You know if they actually made a Gears of War Xbox series X or even another Halo infinite console instead of just making controllers look beautiful why don't they make the consoles look beautiful.

You're the company that just bought literally the oldest third party developer/publisher in the industry, which represents probably the largest suite of studios on the market under a single entity. And you want to run your studios with a "lean central team"? Bulk the fuck up and support the studios you bought, or sell them to a company that will. Didn't Microsoft lay off a bunch of management after these purchases claiming they were redundant? Is this whole mess the result of cutting too deep on producers and studio managers? As for focusing on fewer games... LOL! 🤣 If you asked Xbox fans what they needed from Microsoft, the answer would probably be MORE GAMES! 😂 What an absolute shit-show.

When Xbox first announced they were trying to buy ABK, I was concerned. A big part of that concern is they'd just bought Bethesda/Id/Zenimax, and we hadn't really seen the results of that in terms of game releases, redundancies, and general studio operations. Xbox doesn't have the best track record when it comes to buying up studios and having them thrive. Now we're starting to see carnage within their Zenimax acquisitions. I'm guessing this is just the start, and some ABK studios will be shut down by early next year. It's frankly shameful. Honestly why don't they do what Embracer did and try to sell the studios off? I guess they couldn't poach the best talent that way. Smh. And to be clear, I've never really been an Xbox fan (though I liked the 360), I'm more in the PlayStation camp. But I want Xbox to succeed for the sake of the industry. Sony is at its best when there's strong competition, and they can be incredibly shitty and arrogant when their competition is weak. I really hope Xbox turns things around, but man they need to change how they manage their studios.

Xbox close the studios where all the talent left and I wouldn't be surprised if any Studio at this point lost their best talent and then Xbox shut them down.

I play HD2 on PS5, so it didn't directly affect me. That said, when this whole controversy escalated I gave the game a 1 star review on the PlayStation store in solidarity for the people who were directly negatively affected, and committed to not playing the game until the issue was resolved (I've changed it to 5 stars now that Sony reversed course). Sony fucked this up badly. If a PSN account was always to be required, the game never should've been on sale in countries/regions where PSN isn't available. It sort of goes beyond that though, as Sony has a history of poor security/data breaches. I was also talking to a former Sony fan who'd had his PSN account hacked and Sony did nothing to help him recover it, resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars of games. I could totally understand why he and others wouldn't want to create a PSN account and link any of his purchases. I feel bad that Arrowhead got dragged through the dirt over this. Hopefully Sony will learn something valuable from the experience. I also gotta say, it was pretty heartwarming seeing a massive gaming community mobilize against this move. Yes there were a few crybabies who just didn't want to make an account, but the overwhelming sentiment I saw was in support of players who'd lose the ability to legitimately play the game they'd paid for and been enjoying. Glad the effort worked.

bro, the last time I felt like an AC game was an AC game was ACIII. after that it became too clear they don't care about concluding a story, but rather want to keep selling us the same game over and over in perpetuity. having said that, valhalla was very satisfying in terms of the AC lore it gave us. none may follow. loki least of all.

It's gonna happen. I'm no Xbox fanboy, but I know that it'll benefit Playstation if they port Helldivers 2 to Xbox. My prediction they're going to send it to Xbox when Halo 7 is announced, and they'll have an ODST skin available for the Xbox and PC crowd. As it stands now, PC is the majority player count in Helldivers 2, not the Playstation players

Ive only had 1 issue delta so far just with the audio. I launch delta i tap on the game i wanna play the intro music plays for 3 seconds then it starts stuttering. Sure i could fix it by shutting off the audio but i think ill have to wait for a update

Nintendo is continually pulling from basically every con they can. Conventions are expensive to go to. And the ROI just doesn't seem to make sense to them, because their fans will buy whatever product they are told to buy, regardless of whether they have been to a convention or not. They have been enjoying the video Nintendo Direct format for a few years now and are leaning heavily into it. If they do anything around the time of the con, it will be a Direct.

Just release a $40 national dex expansion for scarlet/violet and a few smaller cosmetic skin expansions for smash and metroid prime 2+3 bundle and I'll be good for this year.

If this thing actually has backwards compatibility with improved performance to past and current Switch 1 games; then they have no reason to delay the release of the Switch 2. Many Switch 1 games NEED a performance boost and you could sell Switch 2's without many launch games; just based on this feature alone. However, knowing them; they are probably trying to figure out how to price any next gen performance boost patches to current Switch games and maybe many 3rd party companies don't have those patches yet. I hope the rumor about most or all Switch 1 games getting a basic 60fps performance boost right out the box; with the update patches simply being the 4k upgrade, is true; which would make the wait more worth it.

The main reason I got myself a lite on 2024 was because ultimately it's a very small device I can carry around. The steam deck would've been a better option in the long run but I didn't like how bulky it is

It's just rumors. I think a push back to 2025 is a good idea. So they can get everything ready. So chill and enjoy the games we have available. I do not see the problem here.
