@@DanielParisMusicI was in the hospital hurt pretty bad, in lots of pain. Thought I wasn’t going to make it. I was alone and the meds were making things worse psychologically. My girl at the time kept leaving me on read and I was feeling her slip through my fingertips. She told me that she was going through something, but she was still able to respond to my friend and beg for his attention. Once I got out of the hospital, I still couldn’t get around on my own, was urinating blood, in excruciating pain, and hallucinating from the meds when I’d try to sleep. I found out from my friend that my girl told her friend when they were playing a game together “omg he said that he loves me, he never says it back”…. Right there, when he told me he said that, I knew something was up. She ended up breaking up with me and said that it wasn’t fair to me to let me wait on her. Well, during that time in the hospital, I had a vocal melody in my head and lyrics just started coming to me about the whole situation with how I was feeling in regards to how I was being treated in such a time by her. A few days after I got home, I had almost 9 minutes of lyrics written down. I searched for a Ben Howard type instrumental on UA-cam to help me express that same melody I had in my head, and this one worked perfectly. Strange thing is, it was the first one that I listened to!!! I am a music producer myself and always make my own tracks, but this time I wasn’t really able to get around nor sit at my desk to create any instrumentals. Plus, I didn’t have an acoustic guitar at the time and I wanted it to be acoustic. (Have one now though). On the day she broke up with me, I was able to move around on my own. Just after, I took a hot shower, cried, and went in the booth to express my emotions whole-heartedly. No one was home at the time so I was able to be as loud as I felt comfortable being. I showed that friend that gave me a heads up about my girl at the time the song and he loved it. He sings and plays guitar and decided to use BandLab to recreate the whole song singing my lyrics and playing his own guitar part. He never showed me though and I haven’t heard from him in many, many months. I hope he is okay… I never wanted to copy this instrumental exactly, just the chord progression was exact for the vocal melody that I wrote in the hospital… I’ve been trying to learn it on guitar, but I don’t play well on standard tuning, I usually play a custom tuning that Ben Howard plays and I think I’m getting closer to the chords used. (I don’t know how to play chords really, just trying to play by ear). I may end up using your instrumental or I may (not recreate it, as Ive had people ask me to recreate beats for them for a cheaper price and I completely do not agree with it, go against my morals) make one with the same chord progression or similar. I want to make it more personal and use ideas from myself rather than others, but it sounds so good how it is with your work that I’m having trouble figuring that out 😅 I really want to make my own instrumental for the lyrics now that I can do a little more and aren’t struggling with my health as much (still recovering) Do you have an email I can send the song to, to get maybe feedback?
