Back Road Video Project #2 - 'Interpretive Dance'
Wow nice practice. I will do it. My back is not straight in straddle
I'm glad you like this practice. If your back is not straight, sit on a block or something so you can straighten your spine. The goal is to feel the stretch in your groin and/or hamstrings. Keep up the good work.
Any tips for leg lifts hanging on the bar? And pull ups? I can do 1-2 pull up by myself but I find myself doing more with a light band holding me up. With my leg lifts I can do bent leg to straight up to the sky, but struggle with the full straightened legs becuase I have super super long legs. Any advice is appreciated ❤
For pull ups, I would say do either or both of the following: 1. keep doing pull ups with the band helping you and try to do sets of 5-10. 2. Do negative pull ups. Start in the bent arm hold and as slowly as you can, lower to straight arms. For let lifts, there are a lot of things involved. I would say keep doing this video and my other core strength and endurance for aerialists video to gather more strength in your core stabilizers. Do my video about straddle ups with straight knees too. And keep working on stretches to lengthen your hamstrings. All of these things should help. But even better, do some work one on one with a live coach who can watch you to make sure you aren't missing any important technique. Hope this helps!
Thank you. This is a great place to start. I’ve been so happy to find your videos. Enjoying the process!
Hooray!! I’m so glad!!
Thank you
You are very welcome!
The best workout ❤
Hooray! I am so glad you like it!
❤❤❤❤❤
What happens when i cant keep my legs straight and im feeling it more in my thighs than my abs?
Thanks for asking. You are probably not quite ready to do this video yet. It is important that you can keep your spine stable while moving your legs. You could try doing everything with bent knees. But even better would be to try a different core video. I have a playlist of core strengthening videos here. ua-cam.com/play/PLiQ18l8bJNVuKyE3R-GTjaI7nnAv5QSKm.html&si=s6147kTpAs0aafSN. Try the one called Core Strength for Beginner Aerialists and see if it is challenging enough. Or you can try any of the others. You shoud definitely feel the work mostly in your abdominals. Keep me posted.
Thank you!!!! Is there a way to continue doing online conditioning with you? I love your energy
Awww. I am so glad you like my videos. I don't have any ongoing online classes right now (because I teach full time in person classes here at Casa Chango Mexico). My advice for now is to do all of the conditioning videos and then start over again until you are sick of me! haha
Thank you for your amazing videos. ❤
You are very welcome. Enjoy!!
OMG I didnt know that you trained at Circus Center!!!! You are amazing Kerri!!! Wish you were here at SF !
Awww. I hope to come teach some workshops in the bay area this summer/fall. xoxoxo
@@KerriKresinski omg that will be awesome!!!!
tits!!!!!!!!
Great video! So inviting
YAY. Thanks
Definitely feeling the burn. I could not lift my butt off the ground at all for those ladybug taps 😭
Don't worry. Keep working on it and trying other exercises too. The point is not how much you lift. The work of trying to lift is the most important.
Thank you
Hollow body holds cause me to Coregasm after a minute or so!
That sounds exciting! Worth it!
I can’t do any of these 😢
These exercises are specific for aerialists and are not beginner exercises. You can try starting with a Pilates class or try my beginner video here. ua-cam.com/video/iyD2bzB5okw/v-deo.htmlsi=n7I3cpwSwmoRhwxw
Kerri, whats the name of the stretching song at 59:44 ? Ps. Thank you for your service 🫡
Hmmmm. I can't remember the name of that song. Sorry.
You are so good !!!❤thank you so much 🎉

I ❤ your abs workout!
Hooray! Me too. haha. Keep up the good work!
@@KerriKresinski When I go to the gym I’m using the wireless earphones and follow your instructions meanwhile I’m glancing at the video from time to time ☺️👍
Great work. That’s a super smart way to use my videos in your training. 🤸♀️
I always have issues rolling on my spine with feeling like it hurts to the vertebra of my lower spine unless I’m on cushy enough ground… so following the prompt to round the lower spine is hard because it feels painful on my bones. Any tips?
I would say only do it if you have a soft enough floor underneath your spine. Otherwise you can work on rounding your lower spine without rolling. Just by laying on your back and imprinting your lower spine towards the floor. If you still have trouble, working live with a coach or PT would be the next step. I hope this helps.
@@KerriKresinski thank you!!
A fabulous challenge!!! thanks Kerri, I'm going to keep coming back to this and other videos from you : )
Awesome! I am so glad you are enjoying my video. I have a bunch to keep you busy. Enjoy the process!
Day 1: only got halfway Day 2: did the whole workout with some pauses. Couldnt do the straight leg to head lifts
Well done. Keep practicing. You can supplement w some of my leg and straddle videos!!
What a generous and enlightened person you are Kerry! Thank you so much for this abs and shoulders foundations 🤩
Aww thanks for saying that! I’m so glad my videos are useful for you!
Wow, this was very challenging and I had to pause at times. Loved it! Will definitely be repeating this one.
Yes keep practicing. At some point you won’t have to pause any more. That’s when you know you are gaining strength and endurance!!
Love your channel! You are a great instructor. I'm almost 40 complete beginner. I appreciate your tips for injury prevention ❤
I'm so glad you like my videos, and they are helping you. Keep up the good work, and enjoy the process.
Raising my hand for the sexy twerk-shop!
Well that kicked my butt! Thanks for the inspiration and laughs!!
You are so welcome! I am glad you liked the class! Keep up the good work!
Still the hardest core training I know!
Keep practicing and it will get easier!
Is it OK to make the circles a bit smaller if hard time keeping lower back glued to the floor? Also, when I try to do this type of exercise, my right hip pops loudly. I can even feel when it's about to pop. So unsettling.
Absolutely. That is a very smart adjustment.
@@KerriKresinski Thanks for confirming. I could probably strengthen my glutes and core as well to remedy this popping business.
@@emmaeIIe Yes. Also popping can happen for a few different reasons. But strengthening will hopefully help.
It's a killer really, I love that mini core workout, you do everything so effortlessly speaking in the meantime just wow!
I'm so glad you like this. Really if you do it regularly, it will eventually be way less hard and maybe even easy. That is what great acrobatics/circus training is. Just do it a few times per week and it will definitely get easier! Enjoy!
I am doing it very often, it helped me lots to regain my core strength postpartum and my inverts are better ... Last one is still sending me to hospital 😂
@@debbiepap4383 keep up the great work!!
Where do you live? I want to move there the trees absolutely beautiful! 😄❤❤
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this video! I have had shoulder injuries in the past, and as a new aerialist I am trying to be mindful and careful with my shoulders. This is such an awesome sequence to warm up with or just throw into the middle of a busy day. I hope to someday train with you- it looks immensely fiun :) Peace and love to you!
I'm so glad this video is helpful to you. I have lots of other tutorials which I hope will help as well. Yes, please come train with me in person. I will be excited to work with you!
this was excellent… thank you for showing the less-flexibility variation. that’s where i’m at right now!
You are very welcome. Enjoy the process!
Okay, someday, I'd like to train with you in person. With your help, I'm working my way up to be able to do the prerequisites for your retreat. Thanks so much for your inspiring videos.
You are so very welcome! I hope you can come train with me in person too. In the meantime, keep up the good work and enjoy the process!
I have been working on straight arm inversions for literally three years and trained with so many people without success. (I can do one with bent knees but it hurts my neck😦.) The drills starting at about 5:00 are super tough for me so hoping this might be the missing piece!!🤞🤞🤞
I hope so too. Keep me posted. They are just hard and take some time.
@@KerriKresinski I'm feeling stuck at the 5:00 drill--can't seem to get my knees high enough to straighten my legs. Any tips? Thanks. (The pistons are a great drill!!)
@@jb92024 it could be hamstring flexibility or hip flexor strength issue, or both. It could also be just a little more core and shoulder stability. Keep trying and definitely work the active pike too!
Such a good stretching video. Can’t wait to come visit some day.
Thanks Julia. I hope you can come have a train cation with us soon too!

Any tips on making a straddle wider?
Yes. I have a whole playlist called Everything Straddle. Here you go. ua-cam.com/play/PLiQ18l8bJNVvgnYe0r4LJKv3ORP_3AvCO.html
Tqsm for this😍
your channel is so underrated this is by far the best video i've seen on how to do this. I DO feel it behind one of my knees which is what has always prevented me from doing this- what might be causing that? is it a tight gracilis or something? all the other stretches are fairly easy for me so i know it's not my hips that are the problem but i just CANNOT have my legs open very wide at all. Also i gotta say it's so refreshing seeing the inflexible girl actually being inflexible - so often on these things there are the 'inflexible' reference people who can put their feet behind their heads and do perfect wheel pose etc like honey that's not inflexible.Big up for the girl in the blue leggings showing the rest of us mere mortals accessible versions!
Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm glad my videos are useful for you. I prioritize being genuine and efficient in training and teaching technique and being wild and free when working creatively. Yes, many people feel the stretch under their knees. The goal is to feel it in the belly of your inner thigh/hamstring area. You don't want to put too much pressure on the tendons near your knees. Couple things you can do (with patience). 1. slightly bend the knee when stretching. You can put something under your knee if needed. 2. Do some PNF active release for your hamstrings and groin. That basically means engaging the muscle before stretching it. 3. Make sure to externally rotate your legs from the hips when stretching your pancake. You may need someone to help you. 4. Commit to stretching your hamstrings in a forward fold with your spine straight. Knees can be bent. LOOK FOR THE STRETCH in your HAMSTRINGS. IF you don't feel your hamstrings stretching, try bending your knees more and sticking your butt out (anteriorly rotate your pelvis) and keep your spine straight. This can be tricky. You can also come train with me at one of my in person programs, and I will help you! www.sweetretreatsdr.com Hope this helps.
Lost a lot of strength but have gotten a lot back. Currently struggling with reverting and getting my hips up in a straddle invert. Will try this video and your core videos!
Yes. This will help. Have patience and persistence. It may take 2-3 months to see big improvements. You can also do these exercises. ua-cam.com/video/fowSX9j65U4/v-deo.html You got this.
Ive been working on my bent arm hold for over 10weeks and its very weak still. Any pointer? X
Yes. It is super hard. The short answer is drills. Make it a strength goal and work specifically on that for at least a couple of months. I have a few other videos that can help you. Check my playlist about strength for aerialists. Having a coach that can help you work towards these goals is super important too. Come to our Circus Fit Intensive Retreat in December and I will help you in person. www.sweetretreatsdr.com/circus-fit-intensive/
Try some of these. ua-cam.com/video/DSkuKtC14cA/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/gAXZnLR_srU/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/fowSX9j65U4/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/_3EnpYeySs4/v-deo.html It will take at least 1-2 months of regular practice of this one skill to make progress. Keep at it. If you haven't seen progress in 10 weeks, you should definitely change the way you are approaching your training. If you have seen a little progress, that is better than nothing.
Great exercise helps me a lot.
Oh great. I am so glad. Check out my other videos too! Enjoy your training practice!
Is there a written out version of this workout?
Hi Maha. Sorry I don't have a written out version of this workout.
Awesome.. but how do you open the legs that wide ? Does that come from practice ?
Yes it certainly does. It takes time and patience, so enjoy the process!
@@KerriKresinski Thank you for the encouragement. I will certainly try to get into splits with regular practice.
@@mommymukherjee4897 Awesome! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for these workouts! I’ve been doing calisthenics to supplement aerial training but am getting really bored with it. I was also worried this wouldn’t be enough of a lower body workout…😅 this was great!
Hooray. I am so glad my workouts are helping support your training program. enjoy the process!
Wow just tried this for the first time. It is no joke! Deffo be doing this regularly
Yes. Enjoy the process. This will support your aerial practice!!
