KABOOM at Cape Borda
Переглядів 302 роки тому
At Cape Borda Lighthouse on Kangaroo Island the cannon is fired at 1:00pm local time. Before modern navigational aids, this was done when the lighthouse was built to enable passing ships to adjust their chronometers. We were the only two visitors on that day but the gentleman on duty seemed to enjoy doing it for us all the same.

A few clips taken during a day run by SDSR of their DH45 loco to Wallangarra. Experimenting with videoing using the drone and adding audio to it. The first scene was not shot with the drone, but a camera on a gimbal.

Ah yes, the year we had no CR cars on the consist as they were in the workshops having their bogies worked on. Was a bit weird seeing NM25 with SAR cars for a change haha. The only Commonwealth Car on that consist that you got would’ve been the accident van between NM25 and W22. Interesting video man, and thanks for sharing with us. You can find some beauties of the Pichi Richi Railway in action on my channel. You’re most welcome to check it out when you have time to. Keep well and a Happy New Year to you, Sir! Regards, Caleb
Fascinating, and well done Pete. Excellent videography.
Thanks Rod 👍
Good evening, I am planning to make a special edition of a train documentary and would like to use some of your footage of 3801 from the June the 4th trip. You will be credited for footage, as I have worked with others in the past. Thanks for your time, and hope to hear from you.
Yes, of course. I look forward to seeing your completed work.
@@orsonbuggie750 Thanks, I really appreciate it.
@@orsonbuggie750 The video is up on the group channel, AusRails Records. Thanks again for your permission.
Good on you Pete
The Strengths of Orson Buggie’s videos include that we get to see some of our top favourite NSW locos in more recent times, nicely restored and maintained. They are bursting with pride, strutting their stuff with their special features and sound. What makes ‘nice’ train shots is no doubt a matter of taste. But it’s also an art and so I like to see what other chaps a doing including Orson Buggie. Thanks heaps Orson Buggie. JohnB
This is a superb video effort worth a look. So good to see this class leader out on the tracks again and running smoothly with its sharp staccato rhythm. The video framing never chops off the loco, apart from a bit from 2m50s. The sound track is crisp and full even capturing the echo of 3801’s unique chime whistle without distortion yet also having bird sounds clean and crisp. Thanks Orson Buggie muchly, for filming and editing this film for us.
Thanks for those kind words John. It was great seeing and shooting this superb machine back in action once more. A credit to all those involved in her restoration and running.
@@orsonbuggie750 Let's hope there's more to come from Orson Buggie.
Thank you for sharing, i am unable to travel anymore...nice video

Good on you Pete - braving the freezing cold wind to bring us this treat. Coal is still king with these babies!
