Rob Cope wrote this cool duet and asked me to record it with him virtually. I had a lot of fun working on it. Perhaps we’ll get to play it together in the same room one day! Thank you!! 🙏 😊
Yesss finally I find a bass clarinet in jazz😭🙏 I wish I new the rhythm of this song😔
Cool, I'm glad you're into jazz bass clarinet!! Not sure what you mean about the rhythm of the song! You can check out the full tune here: ua-cam.com/video/ObYGHOPKtto/v-deo.htmlsi=3LO0FE5xcQ93SlkQ
Stan Getz!
Great stuff!
You have a nice phrasing despite of fishing for effects. But who are the other musicians on the record?
Thanks for asking - Sue Orfield on tenor sax, Kameron Markworth on bass, Ted Godbout on piano and David Schmalenberger on drums. I should get this listed in the details, sometimes I don't think of it for shorts. It's from an album called "Splash" with myself and Sue Orfield as leaders.
Great!
Thanks! 🙏
That is blazing hot on the money a bold fresh sound
Thank you so much!! 😊
What a beautiful voice you have
Thanks - much appreciated!
I could only dream of that tone quality 😭😭😭
Aww that’s kind. I can’t speak for Lu but I’ll say obsessive practicing for many years is the key! 😁
Man I wish I had a tone like yours! Keep it up, this solo is notoriously hard and you executed it perfectly. What's ur horn setup?
Thank you so much! I play a TM Custom and right now am using an Otto Link but I have a few mouthpieces and am never totally settled!
What human beings are able to achieve is astonishing to me..
incredible!!
Thanks! It is HARD!
Who ? Why she is the bomb 💣 A sweet interpretation
Thanks so much!
This was lovely, Joan. Beautiful performance. Hope Sonny Rollins hears this. I think he'd approve.
Thank you so much Doug! Hmmm do we think Sonny is scrolling around on UA-cam…ya never know! 😄
Love it!
Thank you 🙏 😉
🤘🏻
Wonderful stuff! Terrific tune and great solos Sue, Ted and Joan. Love it!
Thanks Doug! Always appreciate you checking out our stuff and commenting. 😊 It’s a really fun tune to play and has become a standard opener.
A groove indeed
Pretty!!
Thanks! 🙏
This is Good Music!!
Thanks, I appreciate it! 🙂
Terrific performance and loads of fun. Great solos all around...especially Joan and Ted.
Thank you so much!! I personally do have loads of fun with this tune and I think the band feels the same. Thanks for your support. 🙂
This is a good day to be a jazz fan. The news of your coming album reached me (immediate pre-order!) and then I found this :-)
Thank you so much for listening to my music! And for the pre-order :)
Covid or no covid, there will be a need for music!
My favorite track among the dozen or so Shifting Paradigm albums I have (the rest are good, too). The opening bars always make me feel good for the whole day :-) Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate this! We’ve got a new album coming out later this year 🙂
Looking forward to it! @@JoanHuttonMusic Hopefully in Bandcamp also 🙂

Thanks so much Doug! It’s really fun to play trio sometimes, the harmonies can be a lot more free. Thanks for checking it out.
Very smooth!
Delayed response but....thank you!
Good stuff..
Lovely performance. Always wonderful to see the way you all interact with one another. Great chemistry.
No static at all: totally fun and funky - lovely tune, great solos and, as always, wonderful interplay. Love you all!
Thank you so much Doug!
You guys sound magic!
Thank you so much!
Very nice, Joan - as always. Love Ted's Fender Rhodes and Kameron's electric bass. You and Sue are both marvelous soloists. This is a lovely version of "My Six."
Thank you so much Doug!
Great!
Lovely.
thanks Kris :)
Fantastic!
Fantastic!
Thanks Kris!!

Thank you!!
Sue Orfield is my favorite performing musician. She is extremely talented on the sax, and she exudes pure delight in performing.
Agreed! :)
btw some of this song was improvised
That's right bud! And we'll get you doing some improv too soon! 😉

Sick!

Yeah, Joan! This is killer. And Sue, you're wailing! Nice work all three. Keep writing, Joan...this is a vibe.
Thanks so much Bob!
I really enjoyed the arrangement and playing. It must have taken some time to put together. Look like fun!
Thanks for checking it out - yes, lots of fun!
