GPS for IAP in MSFS 2020, Version 1.1, Sample Video
Very informative video in a bite sized lesson. I certainly picked up some new tips and I gave it a thumbs up. My previous comment was made after digesting 2 sarcasm tablets.
Great video. Good job. I went ahead and made one good copy, did some minor changes and editing to make it look like it was all my work, and then I mass marketed it. Turned out my version sold millions of copies worldwide, with heavy sales in Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, India, Chiner (that's China with a Trump accent), Barackastan, Krotchastan, Takeitawaystan, Ubetchastan, and also way down in sunny New Guinea. Surprisingly, sales were quite brisk in Somalia, but not so good in Cuba. To date, I've made millions and millions of dollars off this video. Holy cow, I'm set for life, and dim sum! My neighbors are so jealous. Please, get back to work soon and produce more videos. My neighbors want to give it a try.
And, you're STILL here after all these years. I have your books, and have been taking your advise since FS2004. Well done, sir!
Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you are happily flight simming.

This clears up or at least makes me aware of what most of the markings on an airport is for. Though you may want to add to the video the different lighting meaning like blue light the outside of the runway...
My Airport Lighting video explains the blue taxiway lights and others.
I don't see the ALSF-II's Sequenced Flashing Lights on FSX at all. Is there such a thing in FSX?
Hello Jack, Great question, and I’m glad you brought this up. ALSF-II’s sequenced flashing lights are seen in FSX when visibility is 3 miles or less. Go to Weather, then User Defined, and reduce visibility to 3 miles or less. Then go to a runway that has ALSF-II such as 1R at KIAD or 4R at KJFK. Wait a few seconds, and you’ll see the sequenced flashing lights. Bill
Bill Stack Thank you!
Can this be changed? Xplane has it by default in Clear weather.
I am unaware of any methods for changing airport lighting as depicted by FSX. In the real world, airport lighting is controlled by airport towers, and sequencing flashing lights are not activated everywhere 24/7. Since they are needed only in instrument meteorological conditions, FSX chose to limit their depiction accordingly. I personally don't see any need for them in clear weather.
Very nice
