New Coffee Alert! - Uraga, Ethiopia

One of our most favorite regions is the Guji Zone of Ethiopia. The coffees from Guji are wonderfully floral, sweet, and full of complex flavors. This new lot of Uraga is no exception. Sourced and imported by our friends at Red Fox, this G2 is more like a G1. The coffees from this lot were grown in the forests surrounding Yabitu Koba, Larcho Torka, and Layo Teraga. Good video, but I could get a drink if before preparation I washed the paper filter, here I shape the paper filter using filtered water and then I let a little more hot water flow, to eliminate any residue from the paper that could negatively interfere with the final drink, I discard this water with a paper taste and only after that I start the final extraction of the coffee.

im interested in knowing what margins we could expect. they said they're not making much money in this interview and are still working day jobs. was interested in that.
I'm gonna go ahead and watch this video, then I'm gonna go ahead and brew some coffee, then I'll go ahead and drink it.. hint: please say "go ahead" less.
Does the thermal keep the coffee warmer than the glass?
I've never had a carafe keep coffee as warm as the MM. Coffee is still hot 24 hrs later. Not drinking hot but hot
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!!!
Man, you make this so complicated-- telling stories and going off on tangents, backtracking, interrupting yourself, restarting the process, detailing totally unnecessary things. And you omitted many other important things. Are you stoned? @ 8:55 you messed around so much with your brew it failed to settle and I bet it's luke warm -- as you said a "minute or two' ! Swirl method? Proper extraction? Seriously, waiting 12 minutes for a cup of coffee, the Moccamaster makes in 4 minutes perfectly without any messing around. 🙄
This really explains part of the process well! I will be in touch soon!
You failed to mention grind size…😢
Unfortunately there is no exact grind size. I would suggest starting in the middle and adjusting for your taste either way.
Am a coffee farmer who wishes to sell my coffee directly
I'm ready can't wait to start
An actual pour over seems easier to me to accomplish than messing around with a spoon during an entire brew cycle. He's pretty much the Lone Ranger with the whole spoon deal. Absolutely nobody else does it. There's reason for that. You don't need to do it to get great tasting coffee.
Love this! Thank you 😊
I needed this…when’s part 2?
Heard you on the Coffee Runs Deep Podcast and learned a lot! My wife and I have been roasting coffee at home over the last year and are loving it! We are still learning so much and want to try and get into the roasting business but don’t know where to start. After watching and listening to some videos on the channel definitely considering you for dropshipping if we get there!!
Sounds great. Glad it was informative.
I love it!
wet the filter
Just being honest. They would probably generate more sales if they optimized the website. They need to really brand it. New theme, compelling ad copy, content etc.
I have a following on tik tok and I would like to leverage that. I thought coffee would be a good idea
Great idea
Whats the requirements to import coffee to the united states

Great information! I am doing my research right now before I start this journey.
Fantastic
A youtube interview i actually learned so much from!
Great to hear. Thanks for letting us know.
Thousand degree on fahrenheit 😉 Thousand degree on Celsius 🙀
What grind setting do you use on your Baratza Virtuoso for the Moccamaster? I've had and loved my Baratza for years now, but just adding a Moccamaster.
I start right in the middle for my first brew and then adjust for taste from there
@@pathcoffeeroasters8278do you mean number 20 on your Baratza ? Just got mine moccamaster and still dailing it in. Did you do anything to the calibration or did you leave it to the “ factory” setting?
Great Video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it. Part 2 coming soon.
Woot woot, first view! 😆
Thank you. This was a helpful introduction as I’m looking into a private label coffee business.
Great explanation, thank you. Our Papua New Arabicas may be interesting to you.
How much gas do you use per batch ? My father developed a 12kg fluidbed roaster in 2008 and we're still improving our burning system. Thank you
I really have no idea.
Ridiculous.
The feather in cap was already blended pre roast?
Yes.
If you have the 3 setting brew basket that sits on a circular base on your Technivorm, you can simply swivel the brew basket back and forth a few times to more evenly disperse the water on the grounds. Since the sprayarm is off center, rotating the basket back and forth allows the water to disperse around the circumference rather than only in the center and is pretty easy. Once the basket's water level is about as high as it will go, give the basket a gentle side to side shake and then leave it alone. This process will take perhaps a minute. The enitre brew cycle takes about 5-6 minutes for all the water to disperse and another minute or so for the basket to drain. If you wish to stay there the entire time, you can then give the basket a litlle shake during the final drawdown for a flatter bed. If this is too much work for an "Automatic" dirp coffee maker, just simply swiveling the basket back and forth for about a minute and then leave it alone and let it brew on its own should do the trick.
Was thinking of purchasing this, but who has time to babysit the coffee as it's brewing, too much trouble. My Bonavita makes great coffee, I heat the pot before brewing and saturate the filter with water. Makes excellent coffee for 1/3 the cost of the Moccamaster brewer. Have you ever brewed without stirring? Seems the shower head design should have been round.
I have and it still produces a nice cup. Stirring just adds another level of consistency. Some people like to take the time, and others don’t. Either way I can appreciate both sides.
I am super excited to reach out soon. I have a few questions but I am ready to move forward in the next couple of days.
Wonderful. Thanks for letting us know.
Interested. Do you make the website for a fee? or through shopify?what about merch?
Hi, we don’t make sites or offer any merchandise.
Thanks for the video. Can we send our own colour artwork label for the front AND you will also stick your label (with all info about the coffee) to the back? Cheers
We can. Once you are signed up to our program we can really get into label review and setup.
@@pathcoffeeroasters8278 And can your service be used by customers from outside of U.S.? (EU)
@@subtitles3379 yup.
Can we use this Coffee Dropshipping system if i am not from the US? I am from Asia
Thank you for that. I just ordered the kbgv. I wanted to know what you use to weigh the beans. I keep hearing that its best to go by the weight of the beans. Did you test the coffee with and without the stirring and how much of a difference do you think it made?
It’s always best to weight your coffee. You can use a regular kitchen gram scale. By stirring you saturate all the grinds asap and then your extraction is more even. Better extraction = better flavor.
My daughters bf and his mom are coming in a couple weeks from Sweden, I want to have great coffee and have been researching but this is what she uses. According to these parameters I've never had fresh coffee☹ at home. I never knew there was so much to making great coffee, a long ways from my folks 1 scoop to 10 cups of water Mr Coffee lol
Is it worthwhile operating this business structure from Australia still selling into the US?
Yeah, would be interested operating from abroad too, but can't seem to get this info from the guys.
@@subtitles3379 Me, too. Have sent the guys a message and waiting on their response.
Thank you for this information. Here to support
Quite impressive Jason!
I think the Moccamaster does a fine job at creating a really well-rounded cup of coffee without all this nonsense with the spoon and agitation; it’s almost pointless, you might as well of poured the water yourself. I own a KGBT741 and anyone watching this looking to up there game or refine their method, or equally buy a TMM, the key takeaway here is ‘grind size is important’ - sadly not going much deeper than that as to what size (I get variable, but some depth on that would be great).
Would I need a food seller permit and insurance to sell coffee online ?
I would suggest checking with your local state government requirements. We definitely recommend getting insurance and setting yourself up as an LLC.
@@pathcoffeeroasters8278 what kind of insurance? My homeowners has an umbrella policy.
@@jkmisch8518 I’d speak with your insurance provider, but some kind of business liability insurance is probably what you’d want to look at.
Can, selling coffee as a dropshipping product, be very lucrative ?
It can be considering you have barely any overhead and there is no inventory to manage.
Hi, nice video and good luck with the channel! I'm from Indonesia and want to start trading specialty coffee such as Luwak Coffee and Javanese Arabica to the US, any tips on where or whom I should offer my products to? Thanks in advance!
Another Indonesian here, also would like to hear your thoughts on the matter. I am currently exploring opportunities to curate quality green beans across Bali.
