Ancient Greek Language & Lyre.
χαίρετε! Welcome to my Ancient Greek language & lyre channel! For the last few years, I’ve been learning both the Ancient Greek lyre and language. Here you’ll find videos of my progress speaking the language, live videos playing the lyre and tracks from my albums of lyre meditation. Music helps to immerse ourselves in a culture or time period and the relaxing sounds of the lyre have been key to my focus learning the language, so these two things are deeply entwined for me. I hope to share the wonders of the journey with you all and inspire others to join me!

Annem işten yorgun gelirdi bana uyumadan masallar okurdu. Masalların hiç sonumu dinlemeden annem uykuya dalardı. Tabi florasan lambası tepemizde yanardı. Annemi masalın devamını okuması için uyandırırdım. Oku anne derdim. Annem yattığı yerden kaldığı yerden okumaya devam ederdi. Gece saat 12 gibi uyurduk genelde annem ablam uykuya dalmış ben tepemdeki ışığın huzuru ile gözlerimş kapatırdım. Göz kapaklarımdan ışığın yandığı turuncu bir hüzme gözüme gelirdi. Işıksız uyuyamazdım. ışık olmadan gözlerimi kapattığımda o derin karanlık beni korkturdu. Işığın yandığını bilsem yeterdi uyumadan önce. karanlıktan çok korkardım. Şimdi 33 yaşındayım. Karanlık huzur vermeye başladı.

It would be great if you used the modern vernacular pronunciation instead. But great idea nonetheless!
It sure would! Unfortunately to do so, we would need to listen to others actively using modern pronunciation (and not just reciting texts). We can only speak a language naturally the way we've heard it. Maybe you could point us to some other podcasts using Ancient Greek as a living language with modern pronunciation?
@@leandroscorieltauvorum Church services use the modern pronunciation for example.
@ Sure, but I’d suppose they are just reciting a text out loud rather than actually speaking in the ancient language, right? (like some at the Vatican do in Latin) It’s a very different thing to actually speak Ancient Greek paraphrasing, analysing and talking about the texts in the target language and I’d guess most Greeks would do that in the modern language. We’re still looking for sb who is actually using Ancient Greek as a living language but with modern pronunciation and produces content online who we can emulate.
Dionysus is yet a god of disorder. Only through passing through the Dionysian and surpassing it to the point of realisation of heavenly order can one achieve salvation.
What?
@computer1-hc1qn Huh?
@@robinrehlinghaus1944 can you elaborate on your argument?
@@computer1-hc1qnThe purest Being, and therein the summit of pleasure, lies not in subjecting oneself to Bacchus. His path is one that needs to be taken and went through to achieve true salvation - the peak of worship is, thereby, not to be sought in the kind of faith the musician herein supposes, but in engaging in that which he gives us to realise its inherent imperfection relative to the true glory of heaven. This video here explains it well: ua-cam.com/video/rntOdCWNB3M/v-deo.htmlsi=0WFwVucmVO8sYBNc

I will listen often.
That's gorgeous
Interesting how much it sounds like Japanese koto music. It's so common to think of ancient Greek culture as "Western", but in some ways it was more of an Asiatic, Eastern type culture, being influenced by Egypt, Persia and Phoenicia.
Rather the opposite actually. ua-cam.com/video/Oj_e9wTXMUI/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/8goAOiz7Zvs/v-deo.html
yeah, eastern world used to be hegemonic for most of human history if you think about it, in both economy and cultural affairs. Even our dominant faith in the west, christianity, is came from asia.

I met an Etruscan lyre player on tour in Athens around 287BC. She played this sort of music. 👍🏻🙏🏻❤️😺
Spitting straight facts
Your description is really bad, are wheels more advanced than particle accelerators because one is older? Modern party culture isn't religious, this is proven by the fact it requires drugs for it to function properly, because without drugs, you're standing in a gross room with strangers with bad and loud music and flashing lights. Religion is more than an activity you occasionally take part in, it informs every aspect of your life. Does party culture do that? I didn't think so.
its a beautiful song bro to me it sounds like new and old mixed together haha

Well, feelings are human, not divine or spiritual - best regards, calvinist
I started to learn harp last year, about my eleventh instrument, and except for organ (and oddly enough, learning harp was using the same parts of my brain that organ does, whxih feels different than all other instruments I play--but I think I will take that angle of approach back to my other instruments), harp is the only instrument I have ever felt so comfortable just jamming with, improvising and exploring. I have done it a little with piano, the first instrument I started so young, but it's just not the same, and I never can get into improv on piano like other people.

Hi guys. Thank you for the efforts you put in to these great episodes. I enjoy them and find them very helpful. Please explain "Zatrikion." Why can I not find this word or any of its possible cognates in my dictionaries or even on Perseus site? Is it a neologism? That, or I wasn't listening to the podcast closely enough! Cheers, N.
Hi there Nathan! Yeah, the word can be found on wiktionary, en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ζατρίκιον but you're right that the ancient Greeks didn't play it, hence the AI generated picture, hahahae. Thanks for listening!
Thanks so much! I wasn't even aware of Wiktionary. Looks like a good resource.
