Hi, My name is Gina.
Thanx for joining me here on my NEW Channel. I have begun this channel to practice this new medium to learn how to film, edit and share my renovation projects on this 1857 Historic Home I bought in May of 2021.
Choosing to Restore another property was a personal choice. Healing through Renovation and Travel.
I share a bit of my writings from 'My ITALIAN Therapy' my audiobook, some renovation & day to day to do's. There will be recipes for healthy living, creations of salves that have helped me heal my tumors over the years and many travel adventures. We will soon be heading to Portugal & Italy for the winter.
Join me on this new adventure and thank you for being patient.
Life is forever a journey, but it's way more fun if shared.
Thanx for coming along.
My Italian Therapy confronts a dramatic lifestyle change after a cancer diagnosis in 1997. Gina takes what could have been a tragedy, and still is for some, turning it into a gift and a life changing lesson.

This is a compilation of spring time to summer projects inside and outside on this Historic Home. All while I am trying to turn a garage into a home for me 30 minutes away. Everything hinges off the trades I hire. Phone calls and waiting for scheduling is truly the most stressful part of my li...

Welcome to my Corning New York Garage Conversion. I bought 4.6 acres outside of Corning New York. Presently I am converting a small 16x24 foot garage into a home for me to move into as I try to downsize so I can move to Italy/Portugal. Moving completely overseas seemed too daunting to me from an 1857 historic renovation I have been working on for 3 years. So I decided to make my escape via a sm...

The mobile I will disassemble eventually using what I can, scrapping what is scrapable, burning some and dumping the rest. It's the garage I am turning into a home for me. Why did you paint the woodwork brown?
because it was painted white and brown many years ago. This house I bought 3 years ago. It was headed for the wrecking ball. It was in bad shape and honestly I did not wish to sand every crevice of the woodwork and molding just too many layers of paint.
Watkins here…Boy I admire your ambition! You should be proud of yourself! I’ve been to that Pennsylvania welcome center…it’s beautiful. Congrats on your new apartment in Italy. You must be excited about it! Take Care…
Good Sunday morning Miss Maggie. Thank you friend for the encouragement. hope you are enjoying your day? I love it up in Watkins. That gorge. Did you see the episode I did on that hike? Magnificent experience last fall. Thanx again Maggie
Watkins here…Wow, what an amazing job! It looks great. Can you believe how agile those guys are? No way could I do that! You are getting things done, one step at a time. Take Care
Hi Miss Maggie, thanx. One step at a time...Hope you are enjoying your summer. Gina
Hi Gina…Watkins here. What an awesome job you have done! The before and after photos really show just how much work was needed! How is your garage make over coming along? Are you hoping to live there for the winter? Wow…so much to do! Don’t forget to take care of yourself! See you next time…
Hello Watkins thanx so much it's been a project and a half. I just left the Corning Property excavator will be there for 5 days. After this I wont be doing any work until mid Sept. Hope you are enjoying this amazing weather.
I'm subscribed thanks to Mindy
I finally was able to view one of best friends Mindy's videos she sent me on you Gina. God Rest in Peace my friend Mindy Lawrence you are truly missed. She really wanted me to look at your videos before she passed. Portugal looks lovely.❤
Hi Carolyn. OH NO what happened to Mindy. When and what. I am so sorry I did not know. Thank you friend for being here. My condolences. I am so sad
When you moving in?
Not sure working on it as we speak
Hello, you work so hard and have such a great vision for your house. May I ask if you are a retired school teacher (also some of the hardest working people I know 🙂).
oh that's sweet thanx. No not a school teacher, not retired. I do old home restoration. Finishing up this big project and moving into this little one. Check out THE CORNING GARAGE CONVERSION. Where are you from? Thanx for being here friend. And yes teachers are the best.
I BELIEVE in everything you said. And the flower bush is a red peonies bush.. And my grandmother had several colors of peonie bushes. I stayed at her house every year from 10 yrs to 20 yrs until she was almost 100yrs old. She moved in with Mom and i. I will always and forever be thankful of what she taught me in life. The mind set of what you said. The only thing you can't do is what you think you can't do. My mother taught me how to build..At 45 yrs old she built on a 20 ft × 20 ft addition on our log home. From the footing on up the the roofing. Kitchen and large breakfast/dining room. My dad didn't do building. He was insurance and real-estate broker. Always gone working. I got the bite and in my life I went on to build Navy war ships. Thank you Grandpa for teaching my mother the trade. And the wisdom they gave me. In Jesus name Amen Love your videos.
Oh thank you so much friend for that lovely story. WOw what a life you have had. Arent grandparents amazing? I would do anything to have mine back. Thanx for being here.
What a lovely trip you had there! Besides Italy, Portugal is another country that we love. ❤
Yes it was amazing. Will be moving in November. It was a lovely trip with my son. Thanx so much for being here. Gina
Watkins here…I’m enjoying your videos. You have so much energy! I’m so jealous of your Corning property. It doesn’t look like much, but with time and elbow grease it will be great! You have done so much to this Waverly house…it’s looking so beautiful. You are so brave to tackle these projects!
You are so kind thank you friend. Stay tuned it is more than you think it will be. Appreciate you neighbor.
Hi Gina…your Watkins Glen friend here. I haven’t been watching your Waverly home much, so am now. Take Care
Hi there. Oh how sweet. Love having you. Have not had too much going on inside for a long while but getting ready to sell. So stay tuned. Thanx friend.
Hi there…I’m over in Watkins Glen. Subscribed…anxious to see what you are up to!
Oh fun love watkins neighbor. hanx for the support. stay tuned it's a challenge LOL
Geez im exhausted just watching the video. Great work.

@@myitaliantherapyginafiore4414 I'm doing great thanks Gina, missed talking to you both.. I've been away for a year
Corning has a dump/transfer station over by walmart..
there was a reason I did not go there. I do not think you could take anything longer than 4 feet. I had 10 foot siding. I had to take it to where I did or Bath and Bath was too far in other direction.
It would have been fine if I knew that before the trailer was full. Did not know until after.
Spending money on a old mobile home is waste of money is what everyone told me back 2015. I did basically the same thing your doing.. pros and cons 🤔
@@erwinaddison2030 Hi thanx for sharing. So what were your pros and cons? I really did not buy an old mobile. I bought the land with all the utilities at a good price. I am renovating the Garage not the mobile. Perhaps in the future i will but not at present. Did you renovate the old mobile you speak of. I was planning on scrapping it until I saw how it was built
My original plan was to replace and trade in the 1979 trailer on a new one. They didn't want the old trailer because it couldn't be transported on the highway. I also would have had get approval the town cuz zoning laws have changed and it was now a flood zone. Bring in tons of gravel with a concrete slab..big money! So I rebuilt the old trailer..new windows, doors and more . Tried to sell it but banks wouldn't finance it because it's was over 20 years old ..
Great progress. Look forward to the next exciting instalment.
Thank you my friend. One should have been out yesterday. I will check to see if it's downloaded. Cheers...

Why are you going to bury the old refrigerator?
Hi, I picked up this old frig free. I am putting it in the ground so it can be like a storage cellar deep enough so whatever I put in there will not freeze in winter. I will be winterizing the place in winter so I need somewhere to put anything that will freeze. Thanx for asking friend.
Ok, good plan! I'll be watching the progress.. how will you insulate the floor? I live near Corning and im interested the latest building codes..good luck! 😀
@@erwinaddison2030 floor stays putting flooring over top. It is going to be to code. Insulation requirements are very stringent in all walls and roof. Will put vapor barrier on cement it's 8 inches thick. It's been quite the process. Working with Code department and all trades. Thanx. I am outside of city.
Wow Gina, I just subscribed to your channel. You are doing something that I dream of doing close to the ocean. I hope to achieve it someday. You lead an interesting life and I am looking forward to watching this project and future projects.Kathy
Hi Kathy thank you so much my friend. I look forward to hearing what beach you end up at. That is all I want to do is inspire people and know we are able to do anything. Love having you here. gina
I wouldn't want the sheetrock in the bathroom draws moisture. And I'm not into the sheet metal walls for the rest of the interior walls. But you sound like you think you will. So congratulations. And good luck, down sizing.
this is a part time structure, seasonal yes I love love love the metal roofing on walls and baathroom will be fine. Thanx
Your plans sound good. And reusing an existing structure will save you a couple thousand dollars. Your progress is pretty impressive. Keep up the good work.
thank you friend. Oh more than a couple.
WoW! That music was loud. I listen on headphones and my ears are still ringing. At least give us a heads up next time. LOL
Hard to tell I wear headphones when I do the editing. Guess all computers are different. Did you try turning it down? Sometimes it's too loud sometimes you can't hear me. Hard to balance. When I come across things too loud that I listen to I turn down the volume cause I too wear headphones. sorry friend, thanx for the input.
think you're doing great. It will be nice when your finished sounds peaceful Aria too
Thanx friend yes it will be so peaceful. This new episode will show the beautiful trees and flowers. I stepped on a nail which sucked. Thanx for being here.

I just spent several days in Torre del Greco as a tourist while visiting local attractions. I had a great experience and met awesome people. I felt far more safe in there than most places I would walk late night in USA. Your issue looks to be with Vodaphone and not with Torre del Greco. Although you may not have meant to, your title is misleading as thought the city is a bad place, which is definitely not deserved for the city and wonderful people.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am only sharing what happen to me. I have been going to Italy for over 27 years for long periods of time and this time was the second time in the Naples area. It was frightening. I am not exaggerating. Shock was all I can say it was to me. Not everyone experiences the same thing. Like I said it too me a few months to decide whether I wanted to share this or not. Thanx for watching....people should know that Italy is not all wine and roses that there are risks at times like any other city. Just wanted people to be careful. UA-cam is not just for sharing fun things but the reality at times. It's a lovely lovely Country...
love your writing and advice- well done!
thank you friend. That was right before I left. My father died right about then....It was sad. Took me 3 weeks to shake it when I arrived into Portugal and Italy. Hugs to you

"It didn't tarnish my experience..." Clearly, it did.
it tarnished my naples experience but not anything else. italy is amazing
I believe that there are two types of people, those that want to help others and those that want to hurt other people (and animals as well). On one end of the spectrum you have people who'll put themselves in harm's way for others, and on the other side you have murderous psychopaths. They blend together in the middle, so essentially there are three or four types of people with those in the middle being the majority. The problem is that those who are in the middle can also fall to one side or the other. The main issue, however, is that when you run into a bad person there's nothing that you can really do to avoid their wrath as it's not particularly focused, and they just lash out without question or focus at whomever crosses their path.
Interesting. Thanx for your comment
When I travel I mostly use wifi in hotel or air bb for communication for free. Now Google maps and I maps has a download feature for specific areas you download. Than all maps and driving directions are available free. When I move locations I delete them and download new areas. Free
Clickbait...Want to make this short then repeated endlessly for dramatic purposes...and I thought you were SA or robbed at gunpoint from the headline. These disputes happen, oh, every nano second of the day worldwide and were they Italian or migrants, Roma's? And they're right about America, the corruption, people skipping out, scams, etc. are 1000X worse and make this insignificant in comparison. And the implication, Egypt, Mexico are better is just 100% LUDICROUS. I hear it happening and MUCH MUCH worse there all the time, rarely do I see anything worse or even something this petty happening in Italian videos.
Thank you for your comment. America is worse. I was not comparing anything to anywhere just saying that I have been around the world and never had it happen...It was horrific. You don't have to be held up at gunpoint to be attacked. It was horrible. Just my opinion. Not clickbait it was really frightening in my personal opinion...just my experience. Thanx
I think you had a run in with scammers to be honest. You could have been any nationality, it wouldn't matter. They wanted to embarrass & alarm you so you'd pay up. Shouting to the world around them usually embarrasses folk into doing what they want. You're feeling the injustice of all the situation. At least you got away. Put it down to experience is all you can do. I hope it doesn't stop you travelling & exploring. ❤
Thanx so much for your comment friend. I have been traveling and exploring my entire life. If you watch the video to the end it certainly does not curtail anything. I have no use for Naples this was the second time. Honestly, I do not put myself repeatedly in a place where I am at risk. I will never stop exploring nor traveling. Like I said in my video I am not a negative person nor will I let this experience tarnish anything. I just wanted to warn people. Scammers well of course but it was far beyond that it was a neighborhood and a culture. It was not one person it was the area. They all stuck together like GANG mentality...And they jumped in my car and were frightening. Yes tried to scare me but the entire neighborhood supported this. This was the second time in Naples area. No more. I drive to Mexico and never had this happen not physically anyway...
got it all wrong salerno is on the other side of the mountain positanoi also that island is capri and not ischia and the so called amalfi coast is the sorrento coast.Don't just guess, study before speaking. And by the way Naples is not at all so dangerous or at least is as dangerous as any other big city no more no less.American cities are far more dangerous.
Hi you are correct I did say Salerno and I did not catch that. I knew it was Sorrento why I kept saying Salerno maybe because I had driven through. Sorry you are correct. As far as Ischia or Capri at that moment when I arrived I did not know which one it was or either. That is why I said I am not sure which one was Capri and which one was Ischia. I have been to both just not ever seen them from this particular view. You are right I prob should have known, but how many Americans would have known off the cuff. I've taken the ferry to both at different times from Naples. Thanx for correcting me about me saying Salerno. It was a mistake. I was very tired and the next day I spent 4 days in bed so exhaustion had set in and I did not even catch it while editing. Thanx again friend for watching.
I have seen a documentary a few years back and I remember in naples a lot of these shops have to pay money to crime gangs .
I imagine but the cops were no help to me. That was a shocker because many times in Other countries the police are very helpful...

Sorry you had this experience. I had a similar experience in Portugal and I speak fluent Brazilian Portuguese. I heard from many expats living there that the Portuguese people can be xenophobic and racist. Of course the majority are very nice, but there's a large number of people there that can be nasty. Just be careful wherever you go.
I agree my friend. thank you
Doesn’t seem worth it. Sims have a data limit so if it runs out you have to pay more anyway. eSIM is a better option

Thank you so much for your input friend. It was long because of my Naples being accosted. Thanx for the suggestion. Yes, tweaking it. Just sharing for posterity....it's very new modality for me
Why nowadays using a sim? Not ESIM or US phone service. What is the savings? $5 a day?
You can get a sim card for 20 euro a month. I was away for 2 months...@@tomdemeo2708 Using my US phone service was $40 a week.
Attacks by immigrants
No, attacked by local Torre del Grecco Italian woman who owned Vodaphone shop in torre del grecco. Not immigrant.

Yes I did explain at the end of the video. Not sure if I said she was an italian woman but most who are in those neighborhoods, most who the cops would agree with would be the locals...@@giak7525
