Felling Pines From a Ladder! How Could This Go Wrong? Working For My 1st tree service customer!
Переглядів 548 місяців тому
I started my tree service in Sept of 2023 and last year was just about getting the business up and running. Weather has broken and I'm starting to work with customers! The customer wanted to leave 4 pines with 7-8 ft trunks so they can hang hammocks from. I thought about just putting on a harness and climbing the tree to 8ft and felling them that way, but figured I could do it with a ladder saf...

Start of the Journey - Tree Felling - 3 Trees Coming DOWN!
Too bad it doesn't really work with my ropes. They are too big and too dirty.
Had so much fun working with you like always!!! Good video!!
You both are very hard workers!!! nice video!!!!
Thanks Frank! You are as hard of a worker as there is!
That little chainsaw is sweet! Your helper screeched Ouch at the end of the video. Those blue spruces are sharp, especially at the top of the tree lol
Freaking cool video!!!
You both are hard workers! Nice video!
Very nice like always and thorough
Are you having any issues with the carabineer hitting the vertec when you go to pull out slack?
I was having a slight issue with tending slack, but I assumed it was just the pitch from the last few trees I've done. Never noticed it hitting the carabiner, but I wasn't paying that close to verify the issue.
Love the editing!
Lots of work, but helps tell a better story!!!
Why did you choose the notch vertec over the akimbo?
Akimbo is releasing 2.0 in the very near future. I'd be interested to see how it works. I've already got the magneato for the RR and it will work for the RRV so that was one reason. Second reason was I've heard the Akimbo is very rope sensitive and doesn't work as well with heavier guys. I'm over 215lbs naked so I figured I'd go with the RRV since I've had a good experience with the RRP.
My card board storage box didn't survive. 😆🤷♂️ I think the pro came with the foam pad to keep it from rattling around in the packaging. Notch prob switched to zip ties to save on cost.
You could get a piece of foam from a fabric or craft store for better storage.
Nicely done
We try... we try!
Awesome job brother
Wish they were all this easy! lol Thanks for the comment!
That ground worker sucks 🤣🫣
I STRONGLY disagree! That ground worker always shows up and works incredibly hard rain or shine!! Plus she's good lookin'! Don't sell yourself short!
@ 🥰
Well done.
@@Paul-hm3bo Thank you!
Greetings from Australia. Nice job Well done crew.👍🦘
Greetings from Ohio! Thank you! I will relay your message to Frank as well!

yOu nEeD A NeW HanDSaW!
That is great you have someone that will help guide you. I have been climbing about a year and a half using study material and UA-cam. It has been fun.
Buddy I did subscribe but you're taking some big pieces with somebody I believe it's your girlfriend or wife who has no idea about tree work I can tell she has no idea how to rope properly you better be careful God bless stay safe
Friendly advice😁... Teach yourself how to install a mechanical advantage on the porta wrap... Would have been perfect for this scenario👍. Nice job man!
Yes. Would have been the better plan for sure! The plan moving forward is to just purchase a GRCS and avoid this from occurring in the future. Also, I enjoy your channel and appreciate the comment.
@@YourOutdoorOasis that sounds like a great plan!! Cool man! thanks, glad you enjoy it!!😁
I dont think doin trees with the mrs a good thing. But ok be carefuĺ bro please'
I can definitely understand where you are coming from. Although, it certainly causes us to slow down and make sure we are being as safe as we can for each other.
I would have put a lid on when weight testing the SRT line. Minor criticism 😜
Definitely a good idea. The weird thing is Frank (With Ligas Tree) is almost always wearing his protos, even when you wouldn't expect him too lol. But definitely should have it on when setting the SRT line.
I will give you an A for when you drop the log across the sidewalk onto the other log that was a very good drop
Bullseye!
Yeah one of the things buddy I seen you cannot leave Stubbs never unless maybe one or two if you have to to use them to stand on if your legs started hurting or maybe to take a wrap if you're rigging by yourself but then stubs will hurt you bad
Yeah, it definitely was a learning experience. I knew from watching plenty of others not to leave stubs and now I learned in real time why! I didn't hurt myself, fortunately, but it did cause a lot of other aggravations along the way. I'll be cutting flush from now on, unless leaving for a specific reason.
I mean you got it done buddy but it was very painful to watch not being mean not being rude by any means you have a lot a lot of learning to do hey we all learn just take your time and learn from True Professionals of the trade the guy you have on the ground he's one of them he's very good at what he does
Part of the reason I'm posting these videos is to learn from them! I'm humble enough to understand that we can always learn more! Thanks for the input! I'm always looking to take information from more experienced guys!
@@YourOutdoorOasis most definitely buddy I understand 100% I'm humble as well we learn from each other and that's what we do God bless you
Suggestion: no helmet cam time lapses; dizziness. 😢
I went back and watched it a few times on my PC and it wasn't too bad, but on my phone I can see what you are saying. I'll make the adjustment.
as a struc- concrete contract i have worked many high buildings , towers, ect -- but i have never been tied off to something dead - ha
Always an eerie feeling! Just got to trust your instincts and best judgement! If it's too dangerous, use a lift/bucket! Stay safe in those high rises!
Need a new hand saw buddy
It is new lol. The tree had been dead with bark removed for so long that quite a bit of the wood had petrified and got extremely hard.
Suggestion: steel carabiners for light rigging.
Great job brother
@@toddjacks8288 Thanks brother! 👆
