It is as if nature is alive and conscious.
She’s adorable and so very right when she said she painted what she is. ❤🙌🏻

This is a whole philosophy ❤
I am close to Mt. Tamalpais. Makes me want to go there. What an amazing woman. I also looked up her partner Simone Fattal - also an amazing poet and artist.
I've never heard of her before. Because she died. Why am I not surprised?
what that is good and very good thank you
Had no idea she was painting our local landmark Mt Tam with such drama and color. Glad to discover Etel Adnan and her work. Thanks for this beautiful interview.
I feel this... "If you feel something strongly... it comes out, whether you want it or not. You can't escape that. So I do respond... to the beauty of the place... of people, of language, of colour. And I feel... it comes, whether I want it or not. When we work... our whole being participates in what we do. It's more than just thinking. It's who you are... you can't escape from. It's going to follow you like your shadow. And it will come out. So let it come out." -Etel Adnan
Love this... "There is no total rest. Not only for us, but for the world. Nature is also constantly changing like we do."
that hit me hard
Beautiful expression...inside & out
What a beautiful human being and amazing artist! Such wisdom! It was amazing to hear her speak.
Nice
I never heard of Etel until today either. I read the summary and I'm bummed about the exhibits I have missed. I plan to do more research and read and see more of her work. So fascinating.
I never heard of her, until TODAY! Art will always matter and this goes for drawing, singing, dance, spoken word. It allows us to escape to other realities. Thank you Etel Adnan for your beautiful part!
Likewise...I am not familiar with Etel's artwork until now ❤ thank you for sharing this lady's art. Love her colours. Going to research her now. Beautiful paintings 🖼🎨
Yes! Imagine if we built cities and crafted our lives around beauty and color rather than efficiency and profit.
"I paint what I am." "Color is language." "If you look attentively (at the painting), you can feel his fights." Gotta love the emotion, commitment, and expression.
Thank You Etel Adman for Your Contribution to Humanity!🙏

Beauty is a powerful force, interconnecting different levels of being and at the same time being banal… the presence of the seagull is sheer beauty. What an interview.
I am fascinated withe her work and I love her personality.
🤩😍🤩
Etel, I feel you are painting for the whole Universe...the innocent smile of God is specially now for you, beautiful artist, painter and amazing poet. Don´t forget, please, artists who are still living in this strange planet full of violence and diabolic wars. Thanks a lot.
I cannot wipe the grin from my face 😁 This was beyond delightful, thank you for stoking the fire ⭐⭐⭐
So happy I have found this artist. She is awesome , love her work
What an insult to Van Gogh. How do the curators get away with these abominations? There are a few "nice" pieces. Nothing that belongs in a museum. Nothing that she could make a living off of by selling. If you took these pieces and placed them in a critique session among other students work in art schools across the nation, you would get plenty of feedback on what they need and how to fix them. This is more like an untrained hobbyist's work. It's amazing how desperate people are to buy into something when there's little to nothing there. I'm completely unimpressed and disgusted with curators.
Thats the great thing about art, it's about feelings, opinions. You don't like the work, fine. But I like it. Your dislike does not cancel my desire to see her work, does not erase the comparisons between her landscapes & Van Gogh's.
@@xw591 Go ahead and look at it. I didn't say not to, and I never said that you're not allowed to like it. And, yes, you can compare it to Van Gogh's. You can also compare chop sticks to Mozart.
Pitying for yourself, she still living in the heart of people and museums around the world with love, respect and beauty. Her words live through her presence, just like your hate. ❤
@@freddyfelipe5047 Aren't you the pot calling the kettle black. And you put a little hypocritical and passive/aggressive heart after your assumptive and hateful statement. You're the one who brought up hate. I'm just speaking the truth. I never said her heart wasn't in her work. I'm sure it is, but it doesn't take away from the facts.
❤Etel!
"La naturaleza esta cambiando constantemente " Espiritual Dama. Sabía. Un abrazo. Siempre aprendiendo de los que Saben. Un abrazooooo infinito oooooo ❤🌎💎👍🙅
Wonderful artist . I have written down every word she spoke in this interview. It is a kind of deep meditation about life and art. Thank you for posting it.
ua-cam.com/video/zauDzL1B_8M/v-deo.html Hi @Van Gogh Museum Extra I loved this video and I wanted to translate it into Arabic in my channel. I hope you don't have a problem with this. Tell me if you want me to remove it ♡
Brilliant! "Who is the most important person you have ever met?" Her response: "A mountain ". This woman is a mountain of ideas, insights and talents.
“I write what I see I paint what I am” love her!!
perfect quote
Erg mooi!
What a beautiful experience to be made aware of this captivating elderly Artist and creative. Such wisdom.
this is the most pureal thing I've ever watched!.
pure+real = pureal
I like her.
아름다운 그림을 보는순간 산을 많이 그린 한국의 추상미술작가 유영국(1916 ~ 2002)의 그림이 생각 났습니다.

"We don't speak of beauty anymore" 🙏
Wonderful ❤
Very special indeed! Expressing verbally…what happened to us that we can no longer say the word beauty? 😢 that’s how far we’ve come from nature, her main thrust for being. Being a writer before painting enables us to understand better the creative soul. Much gratitude for introducing us to her.
