    Love your recipe! I mix all the mash and ingredients together rather than layering it. I did the turbin once my favorite but I usually use this to make a stuffed butternut squash or acorn as the turbin is hard to find.

    In case you haven't found out the name to the large blueish-green squash that you held up, it is a Hubbard Squash and they can get much larger than the one that you have on your counter. There is also a smaller and darker variety called the Chicago Hubbard squash.
