You know... I always loved Adventure Time. Everything about it, masterful. Fionna and Cake, masterful. Everything, all of it... Gave me warmth and love, and manners. Taught me humility and that weirdness is cool... Breathtaking. Six years old, watching the show through with my brothers and cousins. Seven, we watch it all again... All day, just enjoying the show and each other's smiles. Eight, again, smiles and content. Nine... I wish that hadn't been the last time we'd done so. I don't get to have that anymore, that peace... That feeling of not being alone. I have family but I'm not connected. I have people but I'm empty even when they hug me. And now... ... Now, I'm still alone. I have nothing to live for besides myself and the one damn person I might find before I die. No reminders of my past or anything left to grasp, besides myself and the covers of my bed... Might as well be my deathbed. And yet, I want to live. I want to create a life that can shelter others and bring them happiness, wisdom, comfort... A feeling like they're not alone. Even if I still feel empty... I'll do it. You get used to crying after a while, don't you? ... Maybe being reminded of mortality isn't so bad.
