Thanks Oleg! This is my integrated amp. For those curious, that is not the original case. I had a guy local to me make a custom one in the spirit of the Yamaha vintage wood cases, which I feel are way cleaner. Also, this a real wood case with walnut veneer as opposed to the original MDF and vinyl wood grain cover.

Always liked your videos! Are in California by any chance? I would love to send you some vintage receivers for repairs. 😁

I've just finished reading your blog and as I ask there (repeat the question just in case someone else could benefit from the answer). Why didn't you use more film caps and just changed the old ones with new Nichicons UKL? There is no gains going full "film caps"?

I have the SX-737. Would the SX-1010 sound much better? I’ve read that they sound the same with of course the SX- having much more power. Any thoughts??

I had a CA 610II it was by far one of the best integrated amps I have had.

Great receiver. One of my favorites under 60 watts per channel, but the FM tuner is just a little above average. If you're looking for kickass FM reception you'll need to move up higher in the Pioneer line. I started using separates with Kenwood tuners and they just blow the doors off most <100 watt receivers.

I had the same receiver along with a pair of Celestion Ditton 15's in 1984, Bought them at a used stereo store when I was in the Military. I left them with my sister when I was posted and upon return a year and a half later she had allowed my brother in law to take the to his place of work and they somehow just disappeared. I was 23 at the time, 63 now and it still bugs me. It was nice to see the Marantz in action again. Thanks.

Nice unit. I have been looking for one of these European versions with the two Auxiliary inputs instead of the useless Dolby FM setting on the US version. I really don't care if it is a silver or black face. I had a US version but I sold it to a friend of mine who loved the 2285B's FM sensitivity. Good luck with it.

The "hallmark" of a McIntosh is their autoformers. The MA6100 has no output transformers, only a gigantic stereo power transformer, which is just fine. This integrated amplifier is perfect for today's use because you can get virtually any AM/FM radio station in the entire world from your computer and send anything you've downloaded from UA-cam to your amplifier and with 70 watts, the only problem you face is if your speakers aren't fail safe with proper fuses. This amplifier will cost megabucks, so that's a thing. Never buy one without that PANLOC case. This is a magnificent piece.

Amazing job refurbishing these old amps. I would need advice on the cr 1020 receiver. When switching off, a big bang is heard in both speakers. I don't know where the error is and what should I check? Thank you in advance for your professional answer. Peter

Hi Oleg I have a question for you: I have used my Marantz 2230 for years now playing Vinyl exclusively. Recently I aquired a Denon DCD 1500 CD player and wanted to hook up the cd player to my Marantz receiver using Red and black RCA cables. I used the Tape in inputs on the marantz and the "fixed"output on my cd player. I get no sound whatsoever. I tried some different inputs, plugged it into the AUX input on my receiver, changed from Fixed to variable outputs on the cd player, but nothing....Am I doing something wrong? Apologies for the noob question

Mine, after a complete recap, sounds fantastic. I only find one problem: the sound of electric guitars. When I listen bands with strong guitars (Pantera, Stooges, Ramones, etc.) the guitar sound is very poor. Does it happen to you? For jazz, bossanova, swing, classical, etc is my prefer amplifier
