🌟 Showcasing the Spectacular: Europe's Unique Complex with a 150-Meter Cantilevered Canopy!
The Technical University of Munich Campus project! 🏫
We were entrusted with overseeing the construction of 2 key phases.
🏗️ Phase 1 involved crafting the entire roof structure, sports halls, and institute areas using timber construction.
🌲 Phase 2 featured a 2-story building housing office and institute spaces.
🏢 The Free State of Bavaria spearheaded the renovation and construction project of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences and the Central College for Munich Technical University. Spanning over approximately 42,000 m² in total area, with around 19,000 m² of functional space, this site now accommodates an impressive array of facilities including 14 sports halls, 15 football fields, 7 beach volleyball courts, 22 tennis courts, a hockey and golf facility, 12 lecture halls, 15 laboratories, a cafeteria, and a library. In addition, as part of the second phase, 300 offices and 5 workshops were integrated.
🌿 This uniquely designed complex, featuring six inner courtyards and purportedly the largest timber construction in Europe, was successfully brought to life while operations were ongoing. 🏢✨

Great design and build, but I must criticize the client. Who would think it is a good idea to build a sports stadium out of wood? We all have seen how crazy and unhinged football fans can get. All it takes is an angry mob and the whole thing goes up in flames.
