I enjoyed making this quite a lot! I actually plan on making more of them and maybe making a little map pack with more 24 hour levels. I even decided to include a narrative, since if I got a couple request for more narrative driven levels. Be careful what you wish for! If you you are interested in making a 24 hour Halo 2 level let me know!

This map was made for a competition where you had to use fire and water in some way during the map. This is what I came up with. I was listening to the Unreal Tournament soundtrack a lot during the making of this map. Another area was planned for the map, but didn't have the time to make it before the deadline. This map took roughly 3 days to make.

A map I made for the Map Labs Episode 1 competition. I wanted to make a map set in the citadel without game play revolving around the Super Gravity Gun. I'm really happy with how this map turned out, although the orange glow without any fires is a bit weird! This map was made in roughly one week

This is a map I made in 2019 for a developer texture competition. The idea was to focus on the gameplay using dev textures, but I decided to mostly focus mostly on the visuals instead. The opposite of what I usually do! My maps are usually not very visually impressive, so I thought it was funny how a dev texture map is one of my better looking ones. A custom map I made back in 2019. It was made for a competition where you had to make a map in very limted space. I was always quite happy with the way this map turned out. I'm planning on uploading more maps I've made over the next couple weeks. I plan on making some kind of portfolio in the future, and I wanted to have video recordings of my maps

The Final Boss babyyyyy. He seems a bit tougher then in the OG, but not entirely sure about that. Credits were a lot longer than I thought they would be. And that's it! My favorite section of the game! Love the look of the palace. I recall this unit being called The Palace instead of The City. Accidentally started a new game since the last level, so this is a fresh start. Tank Commanders seem to be able to get their rockets out really quickly. This may be a bug, but it can make them pretty scary

Was playing really sloppy in this Unit. Couldn't recall a lot of the areas very well for some reason. Also turned the corner while checking my phone and died to 2 gunners. Ouch. Last map of this Unit is one of my favorite in the game tho, and the secret level is also really good! The brain enemies are a big thread, but they're still pretty slow, so they are dealwithable. I feel like the Raygun is weaker this remaster compared to the original, but I might just be remembering things wrong. Kinda prefer using the rocket launcher over it now. The Rocket Woman seem to be better at aiming. This has never really been my favorite Unit, and that hasn't really changed with this remaster unfortunately

Pretty sure the section past the boss fight has been extended slightly. New shot of the big gun actually being destroyed is also new I think, and a really cool addition!

Any plans for a custom BSP tutorial for H2? The only ones I can find are for CE and H3
I might be able to make one when I have some more free time on my hands! Halo 2 mapping workflow is very similar the as Halo 3 tho. Porting the map into engine works the same as Halo 3, but I believe Halo 2 does have lower maximum poly counter. There are some things in Sapien that are slightly different, like how AI is set up
@@skurly8689 Seconding that tutorial request, it would be a HUGE help and Halo 2 modding is very underrepresented in its current state. I've been able to make custom/modified bipeds and whatnot in Blender but mapping's still very alien to me. The Source engine spoiled me for 10 years so mapping in a modelling program has been pretty hard for me to wrap my head around

I might make one when I have some more free time! You should be able to follow Halo 3 mapping tutorials, and apply what you've learned to the Halo 2 toolkit. They have a very similar workflow

I am planning about making a level onboard the Keyship, but I don't think it will follow the events in the comics

Can this be partially recreated in infinite?
I haven't used Forge a lot at this point, so take everything I'm saying with a grain of salt, but I think you should be able to recreate most of this map in it. Some things you'll probably won't be able to do is stuff like dialogue, cutscenes and playing music. Scripting in general seems a bit more limited, with the trade off of being easier/more fun to use, but for a simple map like this you probably wont run into any major limitations

This is only possible in the Fusion version. In the OG HD, it won't do enough damage and in the Classic, the cannon can't even chamber out the shots that fast. Either way, the ONLY reason I don't do it is for the pink secret

This was awesome to play. I appreciate the hard work. When there is a will. There is a way. I finished the entire mission riding on a Chopper once I was able to steal one.
I'm still thinking about whether or not I should fix being able to take the chopper through the whole mission... What do you think I should do?
@skurly8689 keep the option! It's how most halo games have always worked. It will allow replay value. Giving you different ways to complete it. I'm gonna do another run without it tomorrow.

Fun mod, i really enjoyed the boss fight at the end although i feel like billus could use a little health buff.

I always felt that the scarab encounters in Halo 3 didn’t take as much advantage of the terrain as they could have. Your showcase has perfectly demonstrated this. Very nice work!

I liked the scarab arena! Fighting the scarab on foot was a terrifying experience, especially when it started climbing onto the islands. Great use of the man cannon lifts as well throughout the level (I’m surprised we don’t see more in campaigns). I think I might’ve ran into a glitch in that arena though, since I was unable to pick up the crated Fuel Rod even though it was fully visible. Luckily the there was the tank at the end
Huh, that's odd... Never seen that happen. Fuell rod was mostly there to make the infantry a bit easier to take out. Hopefully they didn't give you too much trouble!

How unusual, I see the dual wielding feature was disabled. That's unfortunate. Map is very creative, I like the AI aggression and map theme! The top of that mountain climb was unironically one of the prettiest things I've ever seen in Halo 3
You'll probably be happy to hear that I'll release a vanilla sandbox version of the map soon! Only problem is that this map in particular has a bug that crashes the game with vanilla tags. No idea why as of now
