The Weekend in Venice for a special birthday

Niamh had a big birthday, so we packed ourselves off to Venice for a long weekend. I decided to put this into one super-blog, rather than split it up. I hope you enjoy the format. Admittedly, I have a little to learn about being able to speak to the camera as a 'friend', but I'll get there. Below is a list of facilities and restaurants we visited! October 2023 in Tuscany - Part 4 - We close the season with the amazing Cortona
Переглядів 247Рік тому
The end was nigh! We and our friend took off to Cortona. What an amazing town it is. Tons of U.S. expats if you're from there and thinking of a place to move in Tuscany. After exploring there, we hit Passignano sul Trasimeno and had a lakeside stroll. I will continue to post with content from Ireland if I deem it interesting enough, but for now, it's farewell to Italy for 5 months! Parking in C...

Volterra is still quite a busy place in October. There are tons of markets... Truffles and fresh porcini are in abundance.. this year we had a tribute act to Pink Floyd playing for the Ugandan Emergency Charity. All in all, October was a blast - a little chillier, but we still had some days with 20 degrees! BIS Restaurant in Colle di Val d'Elsa: www.osteriabis.it/comingsoon Map images by Google...
October 2023 in Tuscany - Part 2 - A rainy day in Val d'Orcia

The microphones are still killing me in this video. Fortunately, only the San Quirico d'Orcia footage suffers. We also went to Bagno Vignoni and Montalcino and these have sound. Sadly, the rain didn't really let up, but the towns had a mood all their own in the poorer weather. We do, however, look forward to returning. October 2023 in Tuscany - Part 1 - Served food by a Robot! Palaia, Montaione, Val d'Era...

Microphones are destined to be a disaster for me. On a couple of occasions this holiday, they either weren't turned on properly, or I inadvertently reduced gain or muted them. No sound for Palaia, and no sound for San Quirico d'Orcia in an upcoming video. These are just some highlights of the first few days we had on our trip in October. We visited Palaia, Montaione, drove through the Val d'Era...

The 'hill' name for Brownshill Dolmen comes from 'Brownshill House' situated walking distance from the tomb. The tomb sits on what would have been the original estate. That hill with the house dominates the landscape of Carlow, you can still see that house from many points in Carlow Town.
You're really ticking off every single village in Tuscany aren't you? There are some great hidden gems, there's no doubt! Thanks so much for taking us to some unknowns once again! Big hugs 🥰😘
@@talesfromtuscany Cheers guys. I think we’ve visited over 65 out of 120 or so towns/villages ☺️
@ thats awesome! 🤩
That drive through that town was hillarious! It was so lovely to see that day we went to the sea together. 😍

Great video! Wonderful scenes of Volterra, love that little town of Loro Ciuffenna, so happy to see Vicopisano was included and I really do want to go to that veggie restaurant!

I thoroughly enjoyed this Eoin! So many lovely places and so much variety! Gosh we are fortunate to live in Tuscany and be surrounded by so much beauty and culture! Thank you for taking me with you on our wonderful day trip to Montecatini and for the shout out! I always love my day trips with you and Niahm. Sending hugs your way! Marisa & David 🥰🤗😘💖
As a homeowner in Volterra for only a few years (vacation home), I absolutely wanna thank you for making these videos. I have learned so much….. if we are ever both in town at the same time, my wife and I would love to meet you and your wife. Cheers!
@@stephenferrari4163 Thanks a lot! I’m glad you find the videos useful!
I once saw the Italian and European champions of flag throwing perform in Lanuvio (Castelli Romani) and they were sensational! Somersaults, the highest throws I've ever seen and lots of tight pants! LOL...since then I've always loved flag throwing! Was interesting to see the centre of Pistoia as people have told me how quiet it is. So odd for a Tuscan city to be so quiet! Thanks for the trip around! 🥰😍🤗😘
@@talesfromtuscany My pleasure… thanks for watching!

It’s an amazing place… good weather is a plus though!
cute -
I lived near a Druid tomb like that in France. It was very impressive 🤩That's a whopper!
I went to Dingle in August 2022. What a wonderful little town. Just fantastic!!!
Thanks a lovely informative video! We’ve not made it over to Cortona yet but it looks very nice. Loved the filming of Volterra following the fab along the lanes and seeing the views.
Cheers! It is a fab town!
what days do they have the market? And where?
Always Saturday. Off-season (about Oct to March) it’s in Piazza dei Priori, the main square. During season (April-Sep) it’s in the Vallebona carpark beside the Roman Theatre ruins.
I am aghast, blue sky in Dingle, on every occasion it has been passing wet, my motorcycle jacket was sorely tested..
We were extremely lucky!
Totally gorgeous xo
Sadly ireland. Is. Changing. Drastically and sadly not for the better
What is the whining about the entry fee! It’s a VERY historical building that need funds to preserve it for future generations. For the same price you can have a fish and chips and a beer that will be down the drain in 24 hours 😂. Get a grip.
I didn’t have a problem paying *a* fee, but found it very high, that’s all, and have heard others similarly complain about NT attractions. Also, thanks for the ‘VERY’, as I had assumed it was ‘NORMALLY’ historical and now feel silly.
Framlingham is the home town of Ed Sheran the singer and ´diehard supporter ´ of Ipswich Town Football Club. Show your love for Ed and be a supporter of that great club !
He does not currently live in fram he likes in one of the neighbouring towns Dennington
Looks gloomy but lots of fun! :D Merry Christmas xoxo
