My mother had Dementia and now my dear friend does. I learned that things that they used to love to do they don’t anymore. It becomes to difficult and confusing. Perhaps find something she can do that will help her feel confident. Also your frustration is no where near what hers is. She has Dementia so her brain doesn’t process things like the rest of us. Perhaps you can check with her doctor on how to treat someone with the disease or search the internet.

I have Dementia from being in a coma and seizures, and the best thing for me has been Art Therapy. From deciding what to paint, picking the medium, and finishing it, its very therapeutic, and when you finish its really an accomplishment!

Sugar and caffeine make dementia worse. Ask the doctor for memory pills that help slow dementia.

Maybe she just doesn't like doing puzzles. Ask her what else she'd like to try.

I do have a question for the family though. Did granny consent to having her challenges recorded & uploaded on the internet? No judgement, just curious. Idk that I would want my life chronicled, but, I’m not Granny. Either way bless you for the care you give to her. Keep cultivating patience & God Bless you.

HCW here. For ppl who keep saying “this doesn’t look like Dementia…” Remember this woman is not *YOUR* family member. You do not know how her dementia has progressed. She is *DEFINITELY* displaying symptoms of dementia. She doesn’t look like your mom, sister, aunt, dad, etc… because she’s not. Disease processes don’t manifest the *EXACT* same in everyone in a linear fashion. We’re all individuals & things manifest differently.

I don't see a problem here at all. I've seen dementia and this isn't it.

Hi, I ran across your Sundowning video and I may know something that could help. I make and use a vitamin E oil and essential oil mixture which I’m going to share with you. I use Jason’s vitamin E oil with 30 drops of frankincense essential oil. Frankincense is soothing to nerves and skin. It is an instant painkiller, no joke. 30 drops of cedar wood essential oil- it kicks in your body’s natural melatonin to help you sleep. Works really well! 30 drops of Lavender essential oil- calming and soothing! Either use topically (just rub it in on face, arms, legs, feet… or use a few drops of the mixture in a bath for full coverage. I truly hope this finds you and works for you as well! Many blessings to you and your family! 💜

Give grandma a basket of laundry to fold it gives them something they can easily do with their minds and hands 🧺

When you get to be 60 everything and anything is Dementia, a person has the right to have feelings without being declared Dementia. Box um up and ship um out. 😶‍🌫️

Also he refuses to admit issues, so kind of hard to get help for someone if they refuse it. Unless theyre so bad they dont understand that.

My mom, aunts, grandmother all had dementia. And this lovely lady doesn't seem like someone with dementia. She seems alert and spry for her age. She very mobile and doesn't have that glazed look. Was she diagnosed with dementia?
