are you guys using axon Maxes for your linkage extenstion?
Wow! Where did you get the material for the two bars they extend your horizontal extensions? That would be much appreciated
@JoshuaThe-xp2jb Those are gobilda viper slides.
I meant for the thing that is connected to the horizontal slides that like the servos/motors power on the horizontal extension like the linkage extension I think it is called
@@JoshuaThe-xp2jb 1102 series flat beams, also from GoBILDA.
Great job!!! But, did they miscount the Auto points?
They did. They even acknowledged that it would've been a state record if they fixed it
I would watch out for launching game pieces into the wings, might get you a penalty
it is a penalty, check the game manual
@@ziezster8470 yes, it absolutely is. We just wanted to release this before the league tournament, so we used any footage we had.
Awesome design! What are the dimensions of the wedges? Seems like it would have been tedious to measure them out.
@@pointyflyer155 the wedge was derived off of a sample CAD, so it pretty much is just an insert with the exact dimensions of a sample. The main problem was getting the exact distance between each triangle, and how annoying it was for drivers to pick up.
Great robot, would you have the cad available?
Great robot, would you have the cad available?
@@carlosdemarco3470 we don’t currently have a full cad of the robot. Sorry.
Cascading rig??? How are your slides so fast?
@@complexity_ We currently have 3 sets of slides for the robot. Two are used in the intake, one for the elevator. The elevator uses continuous, (default gobilda viper slide kit with a better motor) and the intake has the arm structures on it to move it.
@@FirestormRobotics Thanks!
Hello ! Is that servo that throws samples to baskets isn't broken? How strong is it?
how does the mechanism help score points?
@Olive807 our intake would sometimes get stuck on top of samples, so we push them out of the way so that doesn’t happen.
Sounds like an autoloader
The wiring on this robot is incredibly clean, well done guys
@@derpii5311 thank you!
I’m in FRC and I’m not used to seeing small robots
I use to be on the Firestorm FRC team (6341) before it fell apart. FTC is quite different.
why are so many comments from annoying ass randoms
Great showcase of the weong color failsafe
this intake is with gobilda speed?
@@leohai6700 we use gobilda servos, but only run them at 30% speed since the color sensors are very slow.
@@FirestormRoboticshow are you able to lower the speed of gobilda servos? Is there some kinda of hardware extension
@privyao0 they are running .3 power in cr mode. Hope this helps!
Nice! How did you guys do it? Would it be possible to arrange a meeting and talk about it? It is really interesting and is something my team would want to put on sometime!
It's actually a lot simpler than it looks. (I'm assuming you guys are using the Limelight 3A, as we are). Basically, the limelight has a pipeline that detects the sample by color. This pipeline can be configured by following the limelight documentation (docs.limelightvision.io/docs/docs-limelight/pipeline-retro/color-filtering) In the actual code, it looks at the nearest sample and rotates the robot to where it is centered with the sample. Since the limelight gives you how many degrees off the sample is from being centered, we've just created a PID loop that multiplies the degrees off by a P term, and we set the robot to turn at that speed. So, if it is at 0 degrees, the robot doesn't turn.
@@FirestormRobotics ah thank you!
Me too, we need to know how to do it
We don't talk about auto though... the reason it probably failed was due to a low battery. We are fixing that with the limelight (ua-cam.com/users/shortsEfJQyVH6STw) so it will never miss
coolio
wowee:D that’s awesome, keep it up, team!!
holy canoli
Kinda sucks ngl
An 80 point auto sucks to you?
@@JHolmes-v8g Yeah but i'm on the team so I know we can do better.
@@W.E-Edits Yeah but I'm the programmer and I know you engineers can do better
Your team can do what 16+ samples in a game? Can it do specimens? Does it hang? Teamed up with a specimen heavy robot you're probably unstoppable.
I just looked at your statistics. Ranked #1 but have had issues overall with allied teleop scoring, but that looks like a league wide issue. No doubt you'll win your league tournament. Good luck going into State!!
Good job!! Reefscape just got announced I’m so excited to start working on our bot
Wbat servo are you using for your bucket arm? Moves pretty quickly.
We have an Axon mini on our depositor.

Very nice robot technology ❤🎉😊
Almost ready to fully automate amazon closer and closer the needle moves soon the unskilled will be unemployed

Amazon McDonald's burger king dennys Walmart etc. Are supposed to be entry level jobs and os supposed to be mostly worked by highschool and college kids
This is a children's robotics competition. Calm down.
???
Whoa it uses omnidirectional wheels
Mecanun wheels
Sick swerve drive!
@@northstarai5640 this is mecanum, not swerve. It functions very similarly, but slips and gets pushed around a lot more easily. The only reason we use it is that it uses fewer motors and FTC isn’t contact heavy.
@FirestormRobotics ohh okay, thank you for the correction. Very cool!
Are you using any odometry?
It is interesting to see ftc focus on robot ability over the brute force tactics seen during powerplay. Robots this season almost never have to touch each other.
@@MrMegamike2k yes, we are using odometry. Yeah I mean with this game, there isn’t much you can do for defense, especially with the submersible and how easy it is to get penalized.
That's right! The square hole.
meanwhile a person doing that would simply toss the thing over into the bucket without moving.
@@ADobbin1 unfortunately there’s no yeeting of game elements. (G433)
This is an FTC challenge. It’s for middle to high school student, they build and compete robots
That's the "Suck-It" toy vacuum invention from The Office !!!😮😮😮😮
How confident are you that the sweeper is legal? Have u competed with it? Rules state that u can move however many samples u want, but not to your advantage. This seems to be to your advantage in the submersible
Could you cite the section in the manual?
I can’t find a specific mention in the manual, plus it isn’t that different from extending our intake to move samples around. Also, I we control the sample for less than 3 seconds (momentary) and aren’t launching samples either.
It's legal. Even though you do control multiple scoring elements it's for a short amount of time. If it were close to three seconds that's when you get penalized
Just think if the boys from sandlot would've had this one, bam, movie over!
Wowzers
40 point auto technically but still awesome
Technically the sample is counted twice at the end of the game. But also 80 sounds cooler :)
@ Yeah lol
80 does sound cooler, but it's still only 40 points for autonomous. Amazing job nevertheless!!
Wouldn’t that be illegal since judges may think you are rearranging the submersible for your adavantge?
No, you may control any number of samples in the submersible zone (rule G410-A in the game manual).
I’m part of LOST 23871 FTC. Can we have the intake CAD
Try emailing one of our mentors (elijah@cherokeemakerspace.org). I currently don’t have access to Onshape since I’m on vacation.
Thanks
Very interesting

Nice specimens are going well.
Not well enough for us to confidently use them in matches though. The mechanism is still kinda janky.
What makes the claw let go of the specimen?
@ARandomMidnight the whole robot backs up. Basically, the claw is two slabs of polycarbonate with a 3d print to keep them from falling off. When the robot backs onto the specimen, the polycarb flexes out of the way, then clamps onto the specimen. When we are releasing on the high rung, the opposite occurs.
Oh hey guys I was not expecting yall to be on my feed 😅 Unfortunate that y’all aren’t in FRC anymore. Anyways, props to the coders 68 points is crazy
Yep! That’s Luke! Not only is he the only programmer, he is also the driver!
It handles balls better than a gay bartender at a bear bar 😂
ILL BUY YOUR ENTIRE STOCK!
You guys do know you can’t use neutrals for specimens
We know. This practice for the drivers on the in-competition practice field.
Whats the purpose of the skinny elbow pieces bending upward? Cable management, and then you wanted it to be semetrical?
I believe those are linkages that power their slides which allow them to extend forward, but also serve to aid in cable management- hope this helps!
On our first intake iteration (comps 1-2), we actually had only one slide and a smaller intake. Our main issue was that the connection was super janky and inconsistent. We decided to completely revamp the intake for the third comp, and one servo was too little to have it extend at a reasonable speed, so we just added a second connection.
Ive seen a lot of teams, mine included, rely on that specimen for their clip autos, could cause problems in alliances. Just be aware
Yeah. In our last comp, we had the same thing happen matches 4 and 5. We still have our 0+4 as a backup for these situations, although there aren’t a ton of teams who have a consistent 2 or more specimen auto in our league.
@FirestormRobotics lucky. My league is pretty stacked
"68 point autonomous" lol wut?
