Very good tip on the two button fix. However, the new installer is now the G3 software and the X3 firmware file is on version v1.15. I have attempted your method on TWO new devices, both ended up bricked beyond return. Unfortunately the fix in this video does not apply as a fix. I have contacted Godox technical support for assistance and they have directed me back to your video! Wondering if you have any insight/ have learned anything new since the posting of this video. Thank you so much!

I have done this TWO times to my Flashpoint batteries..not working as much and they sit for many months...but came back to life with this great tip.

Phew, thank you for this. It worked for me but possibly for less obvious reasons, firstly, holding the top rotating button was the thing that woke it up each time it crashed, and second, it wasn't obvious that you have to go find the v1.1 of the G3 app to do the firmware update options page, since the version number appears only in the support page title and not in the actual G3 download page which doesn't tell you its version number

Don't need to dismantle the battery. Just push the test button at the "far right" position with help of a straightened paper clip or something similar.

Hm, I'm so nervous. Will the weight eventually break the handle off the 400 after continuous use?

Thank you very much; you've saved my X3N. I had to attempt the process six or seven times on a Mac before successfully completing the upgrade.

I first charged the X3 then followed these steps. After following these steps for updating and unplugging the unit, it does not power on. I tried the process 3 times from the start each time with no luck. It's still won't power on after unplugging. Maybe I need to drop test mine too?!?... 🙂 Any suggestions?

Weird thing. Mine was bricked, I went through the process several times because it keeps stopping with a DEVICE ERROR.. I got tired of this and just powered it on and it's updated to the current version 1.15 Just mind blowing

Dear readers: If the batteries are completely dead, you need to trickle charge it using those large silver pads for a few minutes. The control board is clearly powered exclusively by the batteries, so a reset doesn't help if there is nothing to reset. The wall charger does not power the control board at all. Another video showed the UA-camr using a 4a battery minder. I used a DC power supply that I already owned, set to 12v at 1.3A for about 5 minutes. It didn't even pull 1W after 5 minutes, but the C26 connected and a few minutes later began charging.

in case you're having problems with some camera brands (i.e. hasselblad) this update adds "legacy hotshoe" , so you can do basic one pin firing from the camera to the trigger and still control your flashes. you lose the TTL capability depending ont he camera, but as long as you shoot manual flash (set your settings manually) you're okay.

Just got the Flashpoint R2 Nano version of the X3. Luckily it came with the 1.14 firmware already installed. I’m going to mark this video for future reference. Thank you for the very clear instructions.

this is not working. I pressed the button on the far right, tried holding it for a few seconds and tapping multiple times. Nothing happens, that is suppose to happen according to this video? The battery was attached to the flash on not used for about a month but left plugged in to charge. Is it really so easy to damage this battery?

I have updated all my Godox gear, X1-n, 4 of them, my Xpro-N, and my X3-N, what a performance, thanks for the x3-n help as it was the last unit, now to see if it cures my two Nikon SB600 from going of every time I fire one of four Nikon flash guns and yes I have tried every combination going but when there off on the Xpro-n or x3-n they still fire, don't matter what X1-n I connect to the flash units.

What are your thoughts on the x3….or do you have a review of it? Thanks!

Well I must have done something wrong as it was bricked. Brand new Windows PC and used to do all of this. I tried and tried on my PC and going nowhere. I went to another (also new FWIW) and BINGO this worked the first time on said other PC.......Scratching my head still. I hope this helps and thanks for the helpful vid.

Thank you 100x over!!! I was charging the battery for my new AD400 for only the second time and ran into this. Yes, it has been a while so it went dormant but now works after following your instructions.

I did all the steps and my trigger still won’t power on.

Thank you SO much, I was just about to send one of these batteries back...I bought it a while ago and actually never used it. Interesting enough, the voltage was definitely not too low. After resetting, the charger tells me that the battery had still about 50% charge. So it seems to me that these control boards can go to hibernation for other reasons as well, maybe this information is useful.

OK I got bricked and followed your instructions but when you dropped yours i accidentally pushed another button whilst pulling the cable out. Tried several times and it did not work. I uninstalled and went through the whole process again and now it works,. Phew!!
