Chaseaway Live At Taste Of Chicago 1993 full show

In the summer of 1993, my band Chaseaway performed at the Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park during the Taste Of Chicago. It was a talent show put on by the Park District of Chicago. The show featured many diverse musical acts, including a high school student performing a trombone solo, a young child playing Chopin on the piano, several rock bands and a Gospel choir. We were the last act to per...

Mario Andretti Vs the safety truck- CART at Detroit, 1991
Переглядів 1,4 тис.4 роки тому
Back in the early 90's, I created a CART/IndyCar highlight tape for my own amusement. One of the more humorous highlights was Mario Andretti running into the back of the Safety Truck during a local yellow. To add to the hilarity, Michael Andretti crashed into the back of Dennis Vitolo's car at the same corner. I had some fun editing the video on two VCR's back in the day. It gets funnier the mo...

Chaseaway live at Taste Of Chicago- "Until The End"
This era for Cart and F1 looked the best. What the hell happened. I mean Indycar looks good but F1 designs look awful
WTF???🙄😳😯😲🤣
I agree that this was funny and embarrassing, but this indeed should have been a full course yellow lead by a pace car.
detroit workers werent ready top 2 drivers both gone .... that cannot happen
You guys definitely have a tight groove happening - nice to hear the rhym section on point.... Your drummer is like a quartz watch.
Thanks, Alan. This is a very old song we are re-recording. Steve is a rock solid drummer. This take was done without a click.
dave did you ever finish the car?
Hi Scott- No, unfortunately the project is stalled right now. I don't have a place to work on it or the money to do it. The car is safely in storage, though.
@@davegto67 oh dave sorry to hear, im sure at some point you will pick it back up. Your video gives me motivation to start a old car project myself, I want to do a full build... Body off frame / ground up. I'd like to do the majority of the work myself... Take care
@@scottmcneilly5993 That's my plan- to do as much of it myself...well I'm sure the guys that helped me pull the body off will give a hand. Maybe I should watch the video again to give me motivation!
This is exactly why the standing double yellow flags is known as the Andretti rule. It was this incident that led to standing double yellow for support vehion track.
Thank you for upload! I can smell methanol
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it!
RIP Pontiac 😥
Great video I have my GTO at that stage , how heavy was it , wondering if I can get like 4 friends to help me lift it off
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video. The body shell is around 600 lbs. Six guys lifting it was rather easy. I did it again with only 4 guys and it was a bit of a struggle. Be careful, be safe and hope you get your car back together!
Great.. awesome. Bravo guys 💪👏👏👏👏👏
This guy should reinvent this channel with the 67 Goat if he still has it!
I still have the car, yes.
@@davegto67 good to hear!
This is how real restorations were done in the 70s '80s and 90s when people would help each other out! and also just remember the good ole Day before social distancing!
This is the condition my 66 GTO is in. The frame, suspension, brakes and rear end were completed in 1990 and my Uncle never got around to finishing it. I bought it a few months back.
That's sure is a good way to do it. Me and a bunch of buddies did it the same way when I started on my 68 GTO years ago
Why not strap it to cart with ratchet straps
I did that.
@@davegto67 Yes I should always wait untill the end of the video before I comment. I have a 1965 lemans (Iris mist with black vinyl top) and would love to do a frame off. But dosen't really need it . But I do want to replace the body bushings.
@@suewatson1912 Hi Sue- If you haven't replaced the rubber on a 55 year old car, you should definitely do that. Not to mention sandblast and powdercoat the frame. But, I digress. It's your car, do what you want with it! Thanks for watching!
Going up to Road America this weekend for the Double Header. Getting myself pumped with these.
This is bad. It could have been made better. This is where people would comment back to me and say "wElL wHy dOnT u JuSt mAkE yOuR OWn ViDeO Of iT ThEn" and to them I say... I might.
How could it have been made better?
Highlights of 1991 with no coverage of the 2 500 mile races at Indy & Michigan both of which were won by Rick Mears his final 2 CART wins???
Everytime I see that clip with Mario I wonder I know in IndyCar during that time they had local yellows as well as full course cautions so was there not a safety guy with a yellow flag just prior to that turn cause it seemed like Mario was at speed.
Ahhhh I love this video. I remember watching this live and it was hilarious. Certainly the safety truck should not have been out there without a full course yellow but its hilarious everyone not named Andretti made it through just fine. Everyone else seemed to understand what a local yellow meant but the Andretti's were all gas all the time. Then the ever so predictable Andretti whine. (Yes they made a lot of whine before they made wine.) "My poor dad's stuffed underneath the truck" "I was in first gear taking it easy" One thing you could count on from this era....it was NEVER an Andretti's fault!
Thanks for watching! Gotta love the Andretti Whine!
Watched it live too! was 6 at the time and thought this was hilarious. (now it's pretty scary for every one involved) If i remember correctly Mario just had a hole in the nose cone, they taped it up like it was NASCAR and he continued after the red flag
That’s the main reason why I never really cared for the Andrettis. It’s never their fault, never has, never will. And they’ll have no problem throwing a driver under the bus if they want to deflect blame. And if Marco was a Smith and not an Andretti, he’d never be given the time or day for a good ride.
Ahhhhhhh the remix XD I'm tipping you were about 14 when you edited that?
I was in my twenties.
God dayum!
Thanks for watching!
God, those CART turbo V8s 😍 .. Before Tony George and his retarded split damn near killed AOWR
I think the idiot TG did kill AOWR. it's just not the same anymore. We lost 20 years of top OWR...for nothing...for an ego project.
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed it!

Wow, this is pure gold. 1993 was the first US open wheel season I followed as a kid here in Germany thanks to my uncle who got satellite television that year. I had previously just seen pictures & read a few articles about the "American F1" as mainstream media often called it here. I always loved the whistling sounds those great engines made alongside the combustion sounds. Thanks so much for uploading! Greets!
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it. I'm going through my racing video tapes and have some more home video from Road America and Mid Ohio from the mid 90's to upload soon...

Does it matter if some of the floor is gone
As long as the body is securely supported, you should be ok. Good luck on your resto!
Very cool to see! Bunch a guys getting together on a nice day cooking out and saving a old gto. Looked like a nice smooth operation, good team work!

body is in great condition. nice ride
Thanks for watching... Yes I got lucky, the body was in overall good shape when I bought it back in 1988. It only needs new trunk pans and rear quarter patch panels. Otherwise, the car is largely original, just in need of a proper restoration.
im about to do my 1980 el camino
Nice to get a visual of what needs to be done. I have this project (1966 Tempest) in my upcoming future.
I just did the same thing on A 67 Lemans
Great video, im about to do the same with my 67 impala.
KLEEN454 Thanks for watching...it was a fun afternoon. Good luck with your resto!
Me to I have a 66 impala
Oh yeah, absolutely. My dad uses them for the rush tribute and some Zeppelin stuff. I try playing them I'm just confused, haha.
I also use them at the end of Limelight.
Yup. PK-5. Triggering an ancient Ensoniq ASR-10. Those Rush guys make that bass pedal playing look easy. It's harder than you think.
Knew it! Are they Roland PK-5's???
I'm using Roland Midi pedals to trigger sampled organ chords for the verses
Is the guitar player playing some kind of midi bass pedals around the 1:40 section? It sounds like it.
Always my favorite!
