coolest dark talking voice; sounding like a serious case of copd or lung emphysema but he's still alive. intelligent, friendly, no b*llsh***ing... rare, these days.
"We are a regular rock n roll band".....!!!!!!! Bob Mould was pretty ridiculous in 1985-86....!!!!!! He was ashamed to even call his band a punk band. He wanted to be a mainstream rock band. What a disappointment!!!!!
They are so beautiful...
Just got a Yamaha G100 and a Silverface Twin because of him.
only 25 here!
Wondering why the English interviewer would ask if the band was influenced by Brit punk bands, as if they would have needed to be. The Ramones were from New York. And the Brits took what they and Television and Blondie were doing and ran with it. In addition, America never gave up on punk rock the way England claimed to do back then ("punk is dead" and all that). Hardcore alone is a testament to that. And what would he have known about the Minneapolis scene back then, lol? Umm, Prince? The Replacements??
Still absolutely awesome and incredibly intense after 40 years. Although the visual quality is worse than a videotape of world war I that had been stored on a heating, the sonic assault is there.
Everybody in the comments is saying the same thing I was thinking.
For some reason American interviewers tend to be airheads while British interviewers tend to be rude and haughty. Love the little condescending swipe the interviewer took at Minneapolis - "Not exactly the center of the universe." They had a great scene in the '80s.
Wow cool find. I used to watch you guys play back when you were still Softcore. I was trying to figure out whatever happened to you all and it lead me here.
Fuck....this is amazing,,how can it be chaotic and tight at the same time?
Straight forward, unpretentious and direct in his answers. Great interview
Husker-Du the true definition of D. I. Y.
I love Bob Mould. But I really, really love young Bob Mould.
Aren't the Replacements from Minneapolis as well? They totally hung out together and probably, even lived in the same giant compound (robot butlers). Paul even wrote a song called something to dü lol
This is from when the band was playing a Twin/Tone showcase that was being recorded for a live box set. The audio from this is on the new Hüsker Dü box set. I just realized it the moment Bob yelled "Fuck you!" to the crowd at the end of the set!
Do speed and make great hardcore!
Do you remember Husker Du?
A very intelligent, eloquent man.
Yes indeed. When I read his book See A Little Light: As a child, Bob was able to do math equations by adding a total at a grocery store checkout without a calculator. Bob was a nerd, and I say that as a compliment. His music is timeless and I've been listening to him since 1985, so it goes without saying.
Such a great fucking album , I grew up on it
OMG DET ER FAREN MIN
The band is one of very best ...
advertisment :)
What's the first song
Bricklayer
Hell yessss!!
" You must be tired from jet lag" " nah, I pop ten black beauties every 8 hours"
That's a more truthful answer! xD
please, explain me this
@@nicolasmrn black beauties are amphetamines.......the retail version of those (lighter doses) were called Trucker Speed
Did anyone else notice that most trios in rock break up?
Except Rush
Last track at 8:00 is 'Call On Me', it's unreleased, unfortunately.
Over. The. Top.
1985? I used to know the album was out by march '86. Am I wrong?
Your right. Candy Apple came out in '86.
Flip Your Wig came out late '85, and as duly noted, CAG was a 1986 release.
wait a second, greg norton wasn't born with a moustache?
I KNOW RIGHT! AMAZING!
so that's what greg norton looks like without a moustache!
why is this tv interview from 1985 wether Candy Apple Grey is from '86?
they have lot of blood, sweat and speed brewing in this primeval wall of sound hardcore punk rock show. timeless.they're really blowing shit up here. huskers forever!
Minneapolis -------- Husker Du, The Replacements, Prince, Soul Asylum.....yes Minneapolis had quite a music scene
Both Hüsker Dü and The Replacements majorily influenced 90s Alternative rock.
@@jimbo-fk4dq yes both legendary
Agreed and not to mention dylan
Wow she's a real cow! Moooo! Looks like Monica Blewinski!
And you're a real idiot ;) congrats on showing the world. Your parents must be proud.
I think it was about a week later or something. Same venue and same set. Probably same crowd too.
Still better quality than Land Speed Record
"No jet lag" That must be the speed taling
too true
i believe that night they only played the warehous album and i think they ended with the Beatles Helter Skelter
can anyone confirm if this was Orpheum in Boston cause i was there !!
lol, look at rockstar Grant Hart. He has a cute face, though. I can't believe Bob didn't get along with him. They were both gay and a pretty guy is right there to fuck.
Why doesn't he mention that they were originally from St. Paul? Pussy.
no set list? that's crazy! like being at sea without a compass!
Grant Hart is gay too. I'm pretty darn straight and Husker Du is one of the best bands in the history of anything, so suck on that jackasses.
Grant Hart was bi, not gay. He was married to a woman at the time of his death.
Greg had no mustaches ....loool
Diggin in the trash for cans
Land Speed Record! Absolute classic!
Bob's sexual persuasion really has nothing to do with his music , so any comments referencing it are rather trite and annoying. Grow up.
