What kinda horsepower is that set up pushing ?
Mike, I just got a TNT in the shop this weekend that I'll be working on. I haven't tried the "recoil update" on the fan engines. We've updated our F/A engines to the 80's style recoil and then said goodbye to recoil issues. I'm sure the same can be done on these fan engines but I haven't verified it yet...........gimme a week or so
Awesome keep me posted! I called Agri Sports this morning and to my surprise they have a couple pawl kits in stock so hopefully i will be riding soon.
Its back breaking work moving those machines around on cement or ground. These ought to help.
You are 100% right, trying to move one of these around with out these dollys is a nightmare. For $50 each they are worth it plus i can use them with the tri-motos.
Nice seems like they work just fine......
They do and make life alot easier!
I'm not a snow machine guy so I can't help......hope you get it solved soon.....
Good looking sled for sure....I think this machine in the shape it's in and non running would sell for $150-$300....just a guess.
Thanks! It was a little more than that, but not much lol. Its in very good condition and luckily i found a place that sells all the NOS parts for it
Why are you waiting two months for parts that are probably in stock at Agri-Sports in Regina or can be here in two days.
Agri sports dont have fuck all since Doug sold it and we had a postal strike.
What did you do to use the nbs trans behind the 350 ?
That's to bad we can't get quality parts anymore.......good job otherwise.
Thanks, wish i could still get my parts from Agri Sports but its not the same anymore
Had a JDX6. All it was good for was fouling spark plugs. Good luck.
Lucky girl, John deer is reliable machine
Thats a familiar sight. Friend of mine has a 400 which is identical except has the 340 engine. We made many miles way back when my 340 Kawasaki was still running. That 600 was probably sold new right out of the JD dealership in town.
Very cool project and yes my first engine build was the Renwal Visible V8 !!! Did you buy a Traverse and it blew up?
Nice work. I remember building one similar at about the same age. The "visible V8" by Renwal. I did not do well. It took a lot of time and a lot of glue. You know the kind of airplane glue that probably damaged my brain :-) It was fun though and I learned a bit about the internal workings of an engine.
Merry Christmas to you also Mike...see you next year !!!!!
@tahoe’sNTurbos you did a smog legal swap bro?
hey please respond if possible! do these motors have a decompression lever
Good job on the AFR...... And have a great holiday look forward tp seeing your new ride !!!! All the best...Cheers Mike
My friend just pulled his shoulder to just like u
According to rock auto catalogue you need 4802 for the right side. 7/16-24 inlet thread.
I hope you get well soon and those parts sorted out......Glad to see you back at least part time......
What bad luck. Hope you heal up soon. Wonder if those wheel cylinders are for a U.S. Pontiac instead of a Canadian? Those short steel brake lines are readily available if you happen to twist one off or it rusts through. I've bought several at the local Co-ops. Sometimes you can repair the old cylinders if they are not too badly corroded and pitted but a brake hone can only do so much. Most of mine were too far gone and I bought new ones. Either Napa or Rock Auto.
Nice one!!
You need a multimeter more than you need air... Only thing more important than a multimeter is a gun w/ammo.... More important than food. Or heat. Possibly even a wife. ....okay, maybe not.... But yeah... i'm tired (can't sleep cuz no roof over my head, but I do have a multimeter....) Gonna eat my neighbor's dog - but I will still have a multimeter.
That 30 days went very fast......WOW look forward to what's next.
30 days went by pretty fast for me. Maybe not a bad thing when its this cold.
You will quickly learn how to use that meter. I enjoyed the month of content.
Looks like a good one. I bought a.cheap one from princess auto a few years ago and its been good. Mainly use it for testing battery voltage.
Thanks for all you do and bringing us content!!! Cheers Mike
If you have a multimeter you can test it to see if the heating element is working, needs to test around 13.5 ohms if it reads 0 it is bad......
Thanks I have been looking for mine for the last few weeks as I wanted to test my coils but might have to just buy a new one tomorrow. It was frozen up and got quite wet when it thawed so im pretty sure its the issue.
Yes we all hope the strike is over soon......Thanks for the shout out you can just call me Quebec Garage. LOL
CP's union picked a great time to strike but they might fool themselves. The country may find they can get by without the post office and they are out of a job. Too bad Agri-Sport in Regna was not still around. Used to be a great place to buy snowmobile parts.
I live in Dysart
Looks interesting but I don't think they would work over glasses.
Thats a very good point and something im going to have to test out. The lenses are removable so i wonder if a fella cant get prescription lenses like you can with normal sun glasses.
That's a pretty cool invention.....Thanks for sharing....
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hope someone can help with the tune.....I moved snow for over 1 1/2 hours !!!!!!
Cheers mate, Mark Australia.
Block heater cord fixed.....heat now...well done.
Exhaust looks good......Hope you can find someone to help you tune it......
Hope the new sparkolaters make a difference. Mine didn't help. Replaced them on 3 different engines in the past year or so with no noticeable improvement so I've got other problems.
What serpentine belt did you use and what water pump?
Tahoe actually sounded pretty good to me. Idle speed plenty fast enough for my standards. Little stumble there on start up but it smoothed out nicely.
The Ski-Doo is looking good....I can't help out on the tune........🤔
This is so weird for me to see snow in other places now. I live in Oklahoma and we usually get about 2-3 inches a year the last couple years. I wish I had some snow. Ot doesn't even get really cold until late January.
You were a serious RC guy. I remember seeing some running on main street during one of the Mopar Muscle shows at Southey. Way back before your time I'd guess. Maybe 1990.
Thanks and yes i do remember the RC cars at Mopar growing up, i was born in the early 80's and have been into the RC hobby since i was about 5. Its a great stress release and im looking forward to taking trucks back out now that my tahoe is road legal again. Heck just thinking back, i think i know where some of those old RC cars from mopar are.
@@TahoesNTurbos I've got a bit of vintage vhs of the July 2nd, 1989 show on the channel at ua-cam.com/video/rdbRiV8kpVI/v-deo.htmlsi=4YMTbPoj8tynUViF
@@roosty6 I'm gunna have to watch when back home to see if I see my little self haha those were the days, thank you so much
Cant wait to hit the trails again!!
So not ready for winter even though its late this year. Only upside for me is there is less work and more free time. 750 is a pretty good idle. Exhaust sounds great. Probably got a thousand bucks into it at a guess.
Winter is back and I'm glad I have a well sealed up shop!! Tahoe sounds good. I would like to do something on my 98...... I'm guessing with the muffler and pipes plus labour you could be into this for 1,500 but not sure add new O2 sensors and it is 2 grand. Well done Mike.
Maintenance is always a good thing !!!! Thanks for sharing.
Those heaters may need a 15 amp breaker each, a typical 1500 watt heater needs 12.5 amps. Amps = Watt's divided by Volts. Thanks for sharing.
