My grandmother was from Ballybunion. She immigrated with my grandfather to South Dakota more than a 100 years ago. I visited County Kerry and it's very beautiful, however the sea is scary. I now live in Montana.

Such a tragedy that the icon that was the old "Castle" is now a runt! It is like chopping off the right arm and head of the Statue of Liberty for New York or truncating the Eiffel Tower to its lower two levels for Paris.

It looks like you were filming during lockdown so if you have a chance, please come back and capture the real people, the restaurants, hidden cafes, shops, marketplace, a concert in the Square, cattle- and sheep market, the pier or get on a horse-back or on a bike or buy some delicious ice-cream and walk in the rain or in a close-by park and so on...

I’m going!!! I plan on staying in Killarney but this place seems much more laid-back!!

For music freaks (like me) the pier, which appears at 0:28 secs and re-appears a number of times, was the location of the death of the British composer EJ Moeran on the 1st of December 1950. He suffered a cerebral haemorrhage and fell into the water; as Wikipedia says he "had died before entering the water".

Daniel O'Connells Castle in Adare is so different. My Brother Pat and I walked in the natural garden path behind O'Connell's, there is a pier that launched boats from the harbor. we had a great trip. Waterville has Payne STewart statue at the Golf Course.
