I had the privilege of being invited by Dr. Isuru Kariyawasam to deliver a lecture for students enrolled in the Advanced Molecular Genetics course at the Department of Botany, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The session covered the importance of genome sequences in molecular genetic analyses, genome sequencing methods, and gene annotation. Engaging with these bright minds was a pleasure, and I hope my talk inspired a deeper passion for genomics among the students.
