Hey guys!! I hope you enjoy this video where I give my personal opinions of the jewelry showcased on the red carpet recently! I would love to one day have a piece of my own worn on the red carpet, but until then we'll be reviewing them from home :) Also, I only reviewed a handful of people who's jewelry stuck out to me, so no hate to those not discussed.
I hope you guys enjoy this video! If you're interested in checking out more of Ruru's Rings, my creations, social medias, or even buying some handmade jewelry from me (do it!!!) click this link here :)

I’m late to watching this, but I love the vlog style!! You should definitely do more of them!
Thank you so much!! I enjoyed filming it and definitely will do more in the future! Thanks for watching and commenting 🫶
This is exactly what I needed to understand how to make a bezel setting. Are there prefab setting styles that you prefer to buy to save on time or headache?
Im so happy to hear that!! Thank you for watching Im glad you enjoyed! I create the bezels myself, although I would be opposed to doing that in the future :)
Oh wait I misread that lol!! I create my bezels myself using strip metal and cutting it to size. When I first started the stone I had were all different shapes and sizes so it seemed easier to make them myself! I haven’t looked into prefab ones yet personally but I’ve seen many metalsmiths use awesome decorative ones!!
I love your video hugs 🤗, Michelle
Thank you Michelle 🥰🫶
Gorgeous ❤
Thank you! 🥰 Not as gorgeous as you 🫶
Love these so much 😍😍
Thank you!!🫶
Suggestion for you - with the set of 3 rings if you first solder 2 individually then add the center one then solder to join the 3 rings - you can set up an assembly line - complete all your triple links then finally joined each section to your oval links you may find it goes a little quicker and less concern with solder runoff. Just the way I've found works best for me with chain making. Yours turned out beautifully, well done !
That sounds awesome I’ll try it out next time!! Thank you so much for the suggestion! Anything to make it go by faster/easier lol

Wow, as a convert to christianity, I never knew or heard about this. Thank you for sharing. I'll make sure to bring it up in my next bible study x
Love having another friend in Christ🥰Isn’t it awesome?! Although some of the exact stones have changed overtime due to many reasons such as marketing, other historical influences, etc. the origins of birthstones derive from Gods instruction of how to create the breastplate in exodus 💕
@@rurusrings Thank you for this wonderful information ❤
What's your birthstone? Jan-Garnet Feb-Amethyst Mar-Aquamarine Apr-Diamond May-Emerald June-Pearl/Alexandrite July-Ruby August-Peridot September-Sapphire October-Tourmaline November-Topaz December-Zircon (Pin for first?)
Sure I’ll pin ya🥰my birthstone is the may emerald!! What’s yours?
@rurusrings thank you! This is my first pin! I'm a March Aquamarine!
That’s my sisters!! It’s a beautiful stone🦋

I love it!!!
Thank you <3
How did you drill holes in the sheet metal?
Hey there! At 6:40 I drilled into the metal with my rotary tool, be sure to have it lubed up ( I use beeswax) my rotary tool only has one speed so it will legit melt the bur if I don’t lol. I use super tiny drill bits and just drill a little hole with my rotary tool and then start sawing :)
@@rurusrings Is there a model of rotary tool you like/recommend?
Fine processing technique and great design✨✨✨
Thank you so much!! <3
How long do you want to do jewelry for?
I love this!!
How long does it take for each of your pieces?
Thank you for commenting!!
How did you decide on a name for your business? And the branding/logo. I love how outspoken you are about your faith. It's been encouraging to see fellow believers in the jewelry making space.God bless💜😊
Thank you for your question I’m excited to answer it in my Q&A!! I SO APPRECIATE YOU!! It’s so fun meeting fellow sisters in Christ!! Thank you so much for watching and encouraging me!! It means the world <3
Hi sweet young Metalsmith!!! if you can try to find a rot iron skillet a big one so you can put your soldering board on top of it… and yes, it will keep your desk from burning… you can buy them at Walmart if you want a new one they’re not that expensive there… or you can find them at resale shops most likely they might be rusted up, but that’s OK because all you do is get some steel wool that has some mild soap in it and you clean it up with the water and then dry it really good and it’ll be like brand new… Also, Walmart sells the turntable connections and you can make your own rotating soldering board yourself . It’s a lot cheaper than buying them off of Amazon or Rio Grande or the other jewelry supplies places that I’ve mentioned to you in other videos. You know what? I will do a video on how to make them…. Anyway, keep up the good work. I just had to stop in the middle of what you were doing and now I’m getting ready to go back and watch. I think it’s awesome that you got this gold commission job!!! Big hugs 🤗, Michelle
Oh my goodness I never thought of that!! That sounds awesome!! I would definitely watch your video and love to make one!! That is so insanely helpful!! You’re so kind <3 thank you Michelle 🤗🥰
Do you have a wooden ring mandrel? Or do you have a wooden peg vice? You can find these really cheap at Otto Frie or Rio grande… The first supply store I gave you if you sign up with your email they will give you a first time 5% or 10% discount . And I find that some of their prices are cheaper than Rio Grande. But I love both jewelry supplies, businesses. The reason why I ask you this is because it can help you hold your ring and be more stable instead of your hand shaking while you’re putting on the prongs… I hope this helps hugs 🤗, Michelle
I have a wooden mandrel but the ones with the blade to cut the size out of the wax blanks. I love both Otto Frie and Rio Grande they’re awesome!! I got my beginner silversmithing kit from Otto Frie! I’ve been wax working a lot more since this video and think I have found a really good method, using my wooden peg and metal ring sizer wrapped in tape (to allow the wax to stick) and using it as support just like you mentioned (thank you) I’m hoping to film a newer wax carving video but just need to block out the time :) Thank you Michelle 🤗
You are so pretty, you have so much personality over the camera… keep up the good work. I just found your channel.. I am a professional Silversmith and I say Silversmith because I work with silver very little bit of gold… but I understand why you feel the way you do on camera because I was exactly the same way…. Anyway you keep up this wonderful work and once again, you are a very beautiful young lady. Hugs 🤗, Michelle
Oh my goodness you’ll make me cry!! 🥰🥺🫶You’re so sweet thank you so much!! I appreciate your kind words and hope you have a wonderful day God bless you Michelle <3

Amethyst is a very pretty stone!! Garnet is a beautiful deep red, it’s such a classic color!!
Beautiful. I bet she loved them 🥰

i just discovered your channel, because i needed wax carving tutorials. you look cute on camera.
Thank you <3 I’m actually filming another wax carving video tomorrow!! I just recently found another caster so I can cast again :) thanks for checking my stuff out 🫶
I like the ring... shame the owner wanted generic jewellery instead.
Hi there! I’ve stated this in a couple of videos regarding this custom!! I absolutely adore the vintage design of this ring but if it’s between storing it in a drawer bc it’s not your style or recreating it you should 1000% make it into something more your style so you get the use of it! The history is still carried through the materials used! It’s better to remake it into something you’d wear then never wear your heirloom jewelry. It’s all up the owners preference of style :)
As always, NICE!!!
Thank you angel 🫶🥰
You did a nice job but what a shame to destroy that gorgeous ring.

@rurusrings I agree with you 100% but I guess I love stuff like that & forget that the young ones today aren't as sentimental or like older style stuff. As I said I give you much respect because you did a beautiful job transforming the ring I just know I wish I had it because it was so gorgeous. Thank you for responding and having an adult conversation. Take care and stay blessed always. 😁❤

Thank you so much💕I knew I had to go big with the stone and the sparkle from these pear shaped CZ were just too good to not use!!
Beautiful!

Pearl is NOT June birthstone. June is Alexandrite not Pearl. 🙄
Actually you're sadly mistaken, pearl IS in fact a June birthstone as well as alexandrite AND moonstone.....need I continue?
Actually it is! You can find this information from a quick google search and it is published on many accredited gemologist sites!! Many months have multiple birthstones, as June has pearl, alexandrite, & moonstone! Another example is December, including turquoise, tanzanite, zircon, & blue topaz! Thanks for the comment!
You are so talented!!!!
& you’re so sweet!! Thank you so very much 🥰🫶
If you don’t have a crucible for melting your metal or you don’t want to use it for something so small, it works better if you do it on the charcoal block than the soldering board. Even if the soldering board is made for soldering, you still need something under that. You can use a metal pan under it. Your desk will be happier. Plus if you make a small groove in the charcoal block, the metal you want to melt will stay there in one place, easier to melt, no need for the soldering pick.
Thank you for the recommendation!! I will definitely be doing this thank you🥰🫶
@@rurusringsyou are welcome! You are doing a good job, congratulations!
Thank you so much🥺💕
There is some type of bowl you can use for melting. I will message you

How did you get the stone out
The wax is easy to kind of pick the stone out of. Just work slowly as the wax can also break. I use an exacto knife to dig in between the wax and metal and kinda use it as a lever to bring it out of the wax. Again work slowly and carefully cause you don’t want to accidentally break off the wax lol
First time seeing it done this way. Thought you pore the vax in a mold then pore the metal
So the wax ring or whatever it is you’re making is used as the mold. You put the item in sand or plaster to make the mold, as it shapes around the item you make, melt out the wax and then pour the metal in and you get the replica item made in metal
That part of the process I out source as I am unable to do so where I live. That’s what the caster does 🥰
@@rurusrings oh I am stupid did not think it through
do uu ship globally??
I do!! It all just depends on exactly where you’re located and what you order which would determine the time frame but yes!!
I'm thinking of making this for my girlfriend, what are the required tools that are needed to get all of this done? I see you have several tools you are using but I don't have any of those, do you have a list of basic tools I can buy that will still get the job done?
I’ll make a video of the bare minimum tools needed for jewelry making soon as well as other tools that aren’t necessary but help tons!! From this video specifically my tools would include: (gold and diamond - there’s a range of jewelers sites, this diamond was a gift from a jeweler friend, the gold I ordered from Rio Grande which I believe they sell diamonds too) 14k gold solder, pumice block or charcoal block to solder on, micro torch, third arm, flux, jewelers tweezers, solder pick, hammer to flatten the melted gold ball, hand vise/pin vise for stone setting by hand, differing ball sizes burs up to the mm size of the diamond you’re using, beeswax for ball bur lubricant, rotary tool(if you have a proper one you should be able to stone set with it, I have a cheap one from harbor freight which allows me only to sand and polish with.) differing sanding bits, burnisher for stone setting, jewelers rouge and polishing wheel. A great website to shop jewelers tools is PEPE tools I have a discount code with them as well just use the link in bio and you get a discount code that pops up when you load into the link :) thanks for watching!!
where did you buy the gold and the diamond from?
There’s a range of jewelers sites but I’m almost certain they all require you to be wholesale or a registered business to order gold / diamonds. I get a lot of stuff from Rio grande though. If you have the tools and just not the gold or diamonds I’d recommend trying to find pieces on Facebook marketplace or thrifting some!! Then you can take the stones out and melt down the gold and have a fully recycled piece!! I wouldn’t recommend selling items like that unless the buyer is fully aware of that process though. I also would only do that if you’re fully confident in your ability to tell stones apart and metal. Most gold items have a hallmarking to say the karat and they have diamond testers on Amazon for cheap. Hope that helps!!
What type of file are using for the wax?
I use files from Harbor freight. They’re basic hand files with different shapes and sizes :) the thicker larger ones I received from a friend so I’m not quite sure what they’re called. I know some places sell jewelers saws specifically for wax carving
Awesome video!
Thanks for watching Im glad you enjoyed <3
@ I make removable grillz, I’m incorporating your technique into my grillz making process.
