Anyone have issues with the leash nuts hitting the nuts in the motor mount bolt?

The idiots who installed my jackplate/motor put the bolts in backwards so the nut is facing forward towards the splashwell. I am afraid to take the bolt out so I have to have someone turn the bolts around.

Do these work on aluminum boats without a jack plate? I have an Alumacraft Trophy 195 with a Yamaha 200 SHO. She tops out at 49MPH.

So, the aluminum insert doesn't get put back in after you slip the tether through, before bolting?

There is a slight bit of screen showing yet around the edges of mine, it’s the correct one for my unit. What if I hit the tiny spot of open glass & it breaks my screen? My luck I’ll hit one of the tiny exposed edges 😭

My bolts are to be torqued at just 50lbs, w/o jackplate, 90 with. Mercury 225 pro, on a V-19 Targa.

So what happens when the jackplate goes with the motor. Looks like a dumb gimmick to me. Just dont run wot in that shallow water

Just put one on my Helix 12. I cracked the glass screen casting a big jig. Replacement screen will cost over $350 for a Gen 2 Hummimbird. I'm going to be replacing this unit in the next year so I'm using Graph Glass to hopefully let me use the unit as is and save the repair cost that I can apply towards a new unit.

Do you make a bracket that bolts to somewhere closer to the transom, like the transom to jack-plate bolts? It seems as though some incidents involve the jack-plate itself breaking when hitting a submerged object and this installation wouldn't seem to help in that case. I want to buy one, but I'd like to see a different mounting option. Thanks for the vid.

If an accident tears the motor from the motor mount bolts and hurls the motor into the boat, wouldn't the same thing occur since the Leash brackets are attached to the motor mount bolts which break ? If the Leash is attached to the motor mount bolts with the brackets provided in the kit, and the motor mounts fail due to the incredible force of a wreck which is strong enough to tear the motor off and throw it, how will the Leash stay attached and serve its purpose. If the motor mounting bolts fail under the force of the wreck, and the Leash is attached to those very same motor mounting bolts, won't the Leash fail as well? If I am missing something obvious here...I apologize.

Has this been tested? How do I know it will not fail?

Not to be knit picky, but it maybe a go idea to mention that the engine transom bracket bolts have a torque specification and should not be exceeded. Over torquing can cause premature breakage and/ or wear. Thanks for the video.

This stuff saved me $3k....twice!!! Highly recommend it for people that do stupid stuff like me from time to time out fishing.
