We're Starving and Everything is Breaking! - Oxygen Not Included - S2 Ep6
Welcome to Season 2 of my ONI playthroughs! We'll be focusing on learning Mid-Game Mechanics this time around!
Please check out the whole series! tinyurl.com/yc6f5279
I last played this game in 2019, with over 100 hours of playtime. It was such a great experience, I wanted to revisit it now that they are out of EA and have some DLC available!
This is a raw playthrough where we'll learn as we go and we don't edit out mistakes or failures! You see it all from start to finish!
Oxygen Not Included is a space-colony simulation game. Deep inside an alien space rock your industrious crew will need to master science, overcome strange new lifeforms, and harness incredible space tech to survive, and possibly, thrive.
You’ll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth, and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. Guide colonists through the perils of subterranean asteroid living and watch as their population grows until they're not simply surviving, but thriving...
Just make sure you don't forget to breathe.

It seems that your dupes are suffocating every time they're trying to prepare food. They take a break and then run somewhere else
Hi, just a tip to help a bit with the stress, if you make a great hall or even a mess hall and a washroom that will help a bit with the moral. Sorry, missed it when you built the ranches, but why don't you have a feeder in them?
Thanks for watching! Please comment with questions or any topics you'd like to see covered or want more information on!
I make long videos but i speak portuguese mostly
That's awesome! I work with a lot of ESL speakers. I make sure to tell them if they ever sense frustration when speaking with me, just know that it's frustration in myself for not being able to communicate better and not them. Speaking a second language is an amazing accomplishment and they are much better than I. Thanks for the support!
Hi again, it's me, Mario Le jumping on turtles XD 2 things I wanted to say: 1. I'm mostly watching in work, where there is sometimes noice and I don't hear you, could u tune up sound a little bit? Thanks in advance(ye I have phone on max) 2. If u need have question or smth just ask,I will write answer in comments (if I hear it XD)
I'll check the levels and see what I can do. I'm happy you are enjoying these!
21:33 the three primary methods of dealing with germs are time (as you've found), heat and chlorine. Time takes time and heat makes more problems which just leaves chlorine. There is no device that you can feed chlorine and germy water into and have an output be germless water.
It would be super useful, for sure! Ultimately, as long as we don't eat food poisioning or breathe slime lung, we should be ok. Thanks for commenting and watching!
@ivellios_ if you want a hint that I think will still leave plenty of mystery, look up "the worst guide to oxygen not included"
Just found you i also like longer videos too
I love finding a long series with long vids with a chill player. I'll often kick back at my desk and doze off while watching. It's my meditation. :D Thanks for the support and for watching!
@@ivellios_ if that is something you injoy check out @JohnMegacycle
Just tumbled across your channel and am very pleased with the sizable series to dump my free time into! I really love this game and have a few dozen tips I've been waiting to share, I just hope they don't ruin the blind-ness of your experience. Firstly, the 'unusual traits' at the world select screen are actually really fun, they can increase gyser and vent spawning, increase slime molds, and even freeze the chore of the asteroid you select. They're random, but traits make every game a touch different, and all asteroids (excluding terra, clearly), have traits like these, I recommend 'Rime' for extra metal and rust, which can be used for oxygen, salt, nosh beans/ tofu, and steam vents that are cool eneough to use early game. Plus, It's too cold for Slimelung germs! Also, at 7:36 the arrow next to the reroll button can guarantee a skill interest in the rolled dupe. This is nice if moral isn't your thing and you want an easy pilot or rancher. Right at the start of your colony is when you want to *NOT* uproot plants. These plants can be used to make a nature reserve in a central position that you can run ladders through so every dupe in the colony gets a free moral boost, just for looking at a plant for a brief 5 frames. (Muckroot count as plants if you can see their red tufts, and their nice because they do not need things like light and oxygen.) Free blueprints are all cosmetic, but unwanted blueprints can be scrapped to craft others. Blueprint scraps can be made into outfit components too! This has no effect on decor (hence *"cosmetic"*), but look nice to the player and viewers instead! Adding downtime to a shift grants a bit of moral, i don't know if it's forth sacrificing the work time though.... Probably don't forget the priorities right next to the schedule button, making dupes good at digging prioritize digging is actually crazy. My mind is blown. Just imagine, being told you're good at digging, being interested in digging, and then getting told to do less dumb stuff and more digging! Luxury life for the diggers out there. When I first found the consumables tab, I used it to ensure my dupes never ate raw meat, as barbecue gives *much* more moral this is nice for eggs aswell. It can also be used to force dupes who receive extra morale from food to eat nasty stuff; they like it more than the others do, after all. Though it may be considered unmoral to some, there are save scumming capabilities in *Oxygen not included* for those who love the gamble of the printing pod. As for research, I prioritize meal prep because of the metal a plumbed bathroom takes. I may be wrong, but alternate schedules means only one dupe is using the bathroom at a time, as their bath-time blocks are at different times, does this not mean only one washbasin is needed? I do apologize if I just repeat info you already know, keep up the great content with the great game. Thanks for the long-form vids too! I see so many good creators find so much success with a good game and leave it without even making a second episode. I guess they got bored. Love the content, hope I could help, and *REALLY* hope I didn't annoy. Good luck with normal mode! :salute (I could've sworn there was a saluting emoji, idk)
Lots of great tips here. Some of which, I did learn in the first play series but, good nevertheless. :D I'll have to remember the re-roll tip for the next start, for sure! I have been considering the nature reserve and your suggestion makes sense. I always had one but never right in-line with their work pathing. As far as save scumming. While I've been happy to do that in BG3, because I'm story driven, you won't see it in this playthrough. XD If I'm negligent and kill dupes or make a stupid decision. You'll see it. Once I have food security, I'll have more dupes per shift and I'm doing all I can to not germ up my water supply. :D We are one in success and failure in this journey. :D It is frustrating when the dupes do stupid stuff though. LOL Thanks for your comment and support!
at 46:33 dont be a fan for steam vents at the start they produce a lot of heat that can cause more harm than good
I said what I said! XD I'm def not going to open it until I need to but the last playthrough was similar. One near the base right at the start. Sooooo. Hopefully, I'll be able to use the, several, failed attempts as lessons to tame this one. :D
"i love comments"- here I go Hi
LOL HI!
My colony at the moment only has 11 dupes and I'm on cycle 2000 something and it's easier to manage, but things take soooo much longer it's kinda annoying. I've had colony's with over 20 dupes and things like O2 and food can be difficult, but you have enough hands to get things done quickly. There's pros and cons to both, all depends on if you're ok with having idle dupes or not :D
S1 went pretty well with 20, however, the base got too hot and I struggled with farming. So cooling will be a priority for me this time around. I'm ok with idle dupes from time to time, if it means I don't have to wait for things to be worked on! :D
Funny you mentioned Skye Storme, his ONI videos from 5 years ago taught me a lot and a lot of my play style is actually based off of his videos. Congrats on the (now over) 200 subscribers!
Yeah! I love watching his stuff and the planning he puts into it! After I move up from the blind plays and learning, time permitting, I'd love to do some sandbox planning/testing. I'm trying to stay within what can I learn on my own from the game first before reaching out to the wiki or looking up plans. Thanks!
Nice you reached 200 subs!!
🎉 Thanks! And thanks for the support!
Looking forward to more!
Dont forget to put some doors up to create some rooms to get morale bonuses. Also Rust Oxidizer is not new just not alot of use cases on the beginning world since salt and rust are usually further out then the easily accessible algae. But i like the laid back feel good for me to get side work done while i watch what i would rather be doing.
I did that in the little after-recording work I do between episodes on Ep 2. Good reminder though! Thanks for watching!
Turning compost gets more food poisoning germs on your dupes than them using the restroom. Like, so many that they need to wash their hands twice.
Good thing I decided to add that extra sink then! I never noticed that. Thanks!
45:58 , you ignored it on your last playthrough.
Thanks! Yeah. It wasn't useful in that world. :D
research stations get a boost when there is light, maybe worth sticking it next to the portal printer
That's a good idea for free light. Thanks for the tip and for watching!
Thanks for the support!
Episode 99!
Yep! I'll likely stop at 100 and start a new play-through.
Hello aloha In your steam tamer temp shift plates touch blocks around, which mean it takes and push temps through insulated tiles, which mean steam room take heat from steam turb, it's why it don't cool down
Also splash of water on steam turb would drastically increase heat exchange
That's a good tip, to not have them touch tiles on the outside walls. I found this article explaining it in-depth. forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/85371-tempshift-plate-how-does-it-work/ Thanks for watching and commenting!
Heya, imo you're technically still playing blind as you haven't gotten into space yet. Bionic DLC is good, but it's just the bionic dupes that are added basically, so different management of resources in a sense. The Spaced Out DLC will give you a good head scratcher, the dealing with space is completely different to the base game and also there's radiation. :D
For sure! I feel like this playthrough gave me a good handle of some early to mid-game functionality so my next play shouldn't take me 1000 cycles to get to this point. :D Thanks for watching!
Glad to see you're still playing and progressing :D just a note with the aquatuner, it cools the liquid by 14 degrees, so if you set the temp reading to 0 the water will come out at -14C. Which is fine for polluted water I think (check in the tooltip to see the freezing point), but if you use normal water it will freeze in the pipes and cause damage.
I certainly won't use regular water in the cooling loops. :D I had some breaks in early game and did find out that sending smaller packets will keep it from breaking from heat or cold. :D Thanks for the tip!
Hey you, are you considering starting a new playthrough with the bionic dlc? I’ve just found this channel and watching back all these episodes would take a lot of time, so a new playthrough would give opportunity for new viewers to be involved!
I'm absolutely considering a new playthough. We are closing in on 1000 cycles and 100 videos so that seems like a good stopping point and this map save would still allow me to test strategies as we move past this initial blind playthrough. Would you rather see a whole new map or replay this one using the tips and tricks we've learned to build a better base? Are there other similar games you'd like to see?
I always enjoy exploring a new map and finding new ways to use it’s resources, however I really don’t mind when watching, I think it’s cool either way.
Been watching this for ages now keep up the good work matey.
Thanks for the support!
Normally the power spine (what you're building down the middle) is on the outside of the base because heavy watt wire gives off major bad decor, so the heavy watt wire is outside with the transformers and the wires then go through the base. Also, make sure you don't have any "normal" wire connected to your heavy watt wire as that will cause overload as well (not sure if you figured that out already or not) I see you figured it out regarding the normal connected to the heavy watt. :)
Certainly learned that the hard way! :D We're doing a lot of trial and error and testing set ups. Thanks for watching!
What is the purpose of the liquid flow tiles in the polluted water basin?
In this case, they could hop across to dig wider and to mark out my levels. Ultimately, I was inefficient in my dig orders. Thanks for watching!
Hi Ive, me again. regarding the damaged hydrogen generator, you can save some metal by just deconstructing it (let's you reclaim the materials 100%) and building a new one. I usually find myself in maps that are metal scarce and the extra 40 grams of metal really helps instead of putting it into repairs. also, regarding pockets of liquids. it'd be better approaching them from above and draining them in order to avoid it spilling down to your base I'm enjoying your play through and I'm yet to catch up to the latest, keep it up!
Coming in from the top is a good idea. I was considering it to be like a funnel. :D
Hatch farm has 8 critters and can support 4 dupes, if run with fully tamed and happy criters. If meat coocked to barbecue.
I'll have to do more math to see if updates changed it. I've been cracking eggs but I'll probably switch back to meat now that we have 'some' food. For meat it should support a little over 5. But we'll see. :D
33:27 sopping wet actually gets removed by showers after the action finishes as well as heating themselves through a space heater or wood heater oh, and if your dupe gets stressed enough, you can create a separate schedule for them that's mostly downtime and bedtime. easiest to deal with stress though is re-spec-ing their skills through a skill scrubber, but that takes half a cycle to complete.
Learning as we go! Although stress and germs don't seem to be nearly as troublesome as they were when first introduced to the game years ago. Heat has been my biggest issue. :D Thanks for watching! I hope you get as much enjoyment as I do watching chill Let's Plays. :D
Hi, sorry only getting to your videos now so not sure if you've noticed this in later videos, but if you use the dig command and drag and hold, you can see the number of tiles.
I still forget that from time to time. Thanks for watching!
I never met a person on the spectrum who would regret to know their diagnosis. Everybody always agrees that it helped, things started to make sense. And then you can find peole who understands you and can relate to you. You share similar experience. It doesn't really matter, if the diagnosis was first suggested by a medical professional, friend or it was your own research. Knowing is empowering and gives you tools to make your life better. We as a society should have more this conversation. There is unfortunately way too many people discovering this too late, after they burned out...
For sure! A lot of parents and even doctors are reluctant to give these children 'labels'. What they ignore is that these kids already have labels, labels that are incorrect and detrimental to how they view themselves. There's a lost generation of undiagnosed adults out there who need understanding and support.
Thanks for watching! Please comment with questions or any topics you'd like to see covered or want more information on!
Stone hatch is the most common hatch to ranch for meat. And reason why is, that you can feed it igneous rock. Igneous rock is unlimited source, once you tame a volcano. Magma turns in igneous rock, when solidifies. If you want to know how to get a morf egg, go to the tame critter. In your case tamed hatch. And in the status of hatch, you will see the chance of laying specific morf egg. You will also see that what food raise a chance for that morf. Oh and don't give your hatches clay. Clay is used to make ceramic in the kiln. If you plan to play with volcanos and metal volcanos, you will need a lot of ceramic. And deodorizers make just small amount. It's better to save it for later. Egg shells can be crushed for lime. Which is key ingredient to make steel. Filtration medium is sand or regolith. Regolith is found on the surface of the asteroid and it falls down as meteor showers. 58:57 Pokeshels can be tricky, they will hurt your dupe, if there is an egg in the room not just nearby, but in the room. But they are used to eat polluted dirt and rot piles of food and turn it into sand. If they are red-ish as the pokeshel in your case, they will attack. The status of the critter also says Protecting. That means they have an egg in the room and will attack. How many sources of power do you have? That one hydrogen vent, two spoms and one natural gas generator? That is critically low amount. Put your power plants in a room and make it powerplant, so you can get engi's tune up for more power. And try to get more power sources. Spom gives you just a tiny bit of an excess. You need something bigger.
Stone Hatches it is! I abandoned the Pokeshell idea. :D There's a lot of easy sand around to dig up and as you pointed out, tons of regolith. I really should use some coal generators. I've been hesitant of the clean up efforts. Thanks for the continued tips! I really appreciate it!
Any geyser or vent has its point of interest on that 2 from the left and 2 from the bottom tile. That needs to be accessible (dug out) if you want to analyse it or geotune it. If it isn't uncorked, you can't utilise them... Food poisoning doesn't do anything, if it isn't eatent. Have it in air is harmless and can't so a thing. You don't have to be bothered by it in the air.
I was hoping to analyze it without popping the cork. :D At least it's not slime lung! Thanks for all the tips! It's been really helpful!
Water cooler functions as rec building even if it is disabled, so you don't have to use water at all. It is universally used building for this purpose, because it is cheap to build and it's small.
LOL Are you kidding me!? That's crazy and a good tip! I'll disable that the next time I start it up. :D
@@ivellios_ That goes with any building requirement. It needs to be in the room, but it doesn't say, it has to be functioning. Like toilet in the hospital. And so...
What are your PC specs? 🥺
This build is about a year old, so pretty average spces.
21:13 they revamped it. Now you need a new critter in order to plant seeds naturally, they're called Pips. They also follow rules when planting, you can look it up or install a mod called Pip Planter Overlay which if toggle in the overlays bar would highlight okay spots for them to plant on. Good luck Ive!
Doing a lot of relearning as I go. Lots of trial and error. :D I'm much further along now and saw a Pip trick today that I'll use at some point. Thanks for watching!
Steam turbine starts running at 125°C. If you want max power output, you will need to get the temp at 225°C ish in your case. Almost any possible information about the game is on fandom wikia.
I looked it up after this vid, I believe. :D Sometimes even the wiki hasn't had the info I'm wanting. LOL Anyway, I decided that was good enough for now and the materials I currently have.
A criticism of your speak patterns. Instead of saying I'm simply pause to gather your thoughts. The first 32 seconds you said um four times. It's a habit, it can be broken.
That's fair. It's a vocal stim I have when talking to noone. :D Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
Aint anyone gonna comment about the ai generated thumbnail?
I've had very few mentions over 200 vids and ran some A/B tests on YT that were overall favorable to this style. These are all produced and curated by me on my local machine. Happy to delve into more detail and address any concerns in a future vid if people are curious about the process.
@ivellios_ what makes me think ai are things like flesh molding into other materials, on this thumbnail its the ear on the right, ive seen a couple others where I believe it was goggles, if it is not ai I apologize but these are just one of the key signs I know to look out for
Don't get me wrong, it's AI. Generated locally not using an AI farm. Could I draw these digitally myself? Yes. Is that how I want to spend my time? Nope. Is it Renaissance art? Again, nope. XD Plus, I like them and think they are cute! It's fun for me to tweak the prompt to see what I can create. :D Thanks for watching and giving it a chance!
The usual set up for bathrooms to get all dupes wash their hands is to have the same amount of sinks as toilets. And the same amount of toilets as many (or one less) dupes are scheduled in the shift for a break. And sinks on one side only. Door on the side of the sinks is walk through both directions and the door on the other side only allows dupes come in and not out. That way they will always go around empty sink and was their hands. But you have only one sick dupe, so you seem to be alright on that. The sleet wheat spoils over time unless is stored in deep freezed in sterile atmosphere. There is one trick, tho. Build a pedestal and put the grain on it. You can do it with any tipe of ingrediente/food with spoil timer. If it is on the pedestal, it will never spoil and dupes will never use it for anything. It is safely stored until you need it. Amount of liquid is best controlled by liquid meter valve and liquid valve. But that requires plumbing... But you can do it very precisely... Dupes will always pump either required amount of liquid for the building they deliver for. Or max they can carry. The triage cot restores 50 points of a dupe's health per cycle, 1% of their breath per second and 10% stress per cycle. While a dupe lays on the triage cot they are considered to be sleeping and another dupe can treat the patient to give them a buff, which improves triage cot's effects to 75 health and 20% stress per cycle. 1:15:25 If you want to get that debris out of the room from the anti entropy thermo nullifier, use auto sweeper. They can reach through corners. Only a dupe with mechatronics engineering can build those.
I did make the toilet change on the next vid but It doesn't seem like germs are nearly as bad of an issue as they were when first introduced. Good tip on the valve. I didn't even consider that option. I'll probably harvest wild wheat for a while now. I need to do some research on gasses and spoilage. I remember when CO2 would be sterile and keep food from spoiling.
@@ivellios_ CO2 and Chlorine are considered sterile atmosphere. Polluted O2 makes food spoil much faster that every other gas. Gasses also has their density and heavier goes naturally down over time. And from the left to the right. CO2 is heaviest and will accumulate from bottom right. Early trick is to make kitchen with part which "sinks" below the ground level. Usually 2x2 tiles. Or 3 in dept with ladder. Then put ration box or fridge in the pit. Over time, dupes will run around and cook. And exhale CO2, that will sink in the pit and create sterile atmosphere. If your cooking station is on the left side of the pit, it will happen faster.
47:35 1 hydrogen generator needs 100g/s of hydrogen. 1 electrolyzer makes 112g/s of hydrogen. If both runs all the time, you should have a surplus. If you fix the overpressurization of your electrolyzers, you'll be good. They overpressures as all sublimators at 2 kg. Solving this would be adding 2 more pumps for oxygen. 1 pump takes 500g/s and your max potential output is almost 1800g/s. If you have 4 pumps, you get to the point that pumps stops and not running all the time, that will save some energy too. You will also have to add one more pipeline, so you have a way to actually get the oxygen out. 1 pipe handles 2 pumps. This would be the optimal max output for your system. At the end, you were talking about having infinite storage centralised at your base. I try to avoid infinite storages in general, but people likes them, they are very useful and practical. But my advise would be build them as far from your base as possible. Look at youtube for infinite storage explosion. Specifically crude oil is really fun, because it's so hot and can turn to petroleum and sour gas...
Good Info! I'll look into adding 2 more pumps for O2 on those SPOMs. I have enough stored up so I'm not really in danger there. :D Once the apartments have been moved, I'll have a ton of free space so I can look into some refinement and pulling in the salt slush to cool down the base a bit.
Germs die in clean water.
Yeah. Just really slowly. :D Thanks for watching!
funnily enough, your comedy has lasted for about three months and still counting I guess I'm enjoying your blind playthrough of ONI and hope you don't get discouraged in making more.
Thanks for watching! I'm enjoying the journey and sharing my mistakes. :D
Slime, polluted dirt etc doesn't off gas in liquids or pressure over 1,8 kg per tile. It's generally advised to store them in a liquid. Or in chlorine gas to get rid of germs, if you wish to do that. Germ also doesn't survive in a clean water or clean oxygen. So as long you do not ad any germs to your pool, all the germs die eventually. Heat and cold will kill them too, but faster. 28:29 liquids behave weird on air flow tiles. You cannot see liquid on them. It's just a quirk of the game. If you look at your storage with polluted water, water basically floats in the air... Check out infinite bathroom loop.
I was surprised that I didn't even see a drop floating on the airflow tiles. :D I was thinking about a chlorine room to clean the germs but as long as we can make some water from the steam vent, we won't have to worry about those germs. I remember that loop from when I was playing in 2017. With the new sieve set-up, would it be worth doing? Another sieve just for the bathrooms? I'm enjoying the playthrough for sure!
@@ivellios_ The loop is definitely worth it. You stop adding germ to your water and if done correctly, it will run forever, if you have the power. Dupes peeing is water positive process. Meaning they produce more polluted water than toilets need clean water. So you will need overflow. That is usually done by 1 hydroponic farm planted with thimble reed. Or arbor tree, if you want wood, but that also requires dirt. While thimble reed need only water. Those plants need polluted water and they are not food source, so no food poisoning... Depending on how much dupes you have, you might add another farm in the future. If the plants has correct temperature and air pressure, you won't need to worry about the system ever again.
37:10 you don't make enough power. This game is about math. Learn to count everything and your life will get easier. One hydrogen generator makes 800W. The left side (the spom) need 960W in total for all the pumps and electrolyzers. That is more than you produce just for the spom alone. The right side needs another 720W. That is 1680W in total, if all it runs all the time. That is not the case, so you probably need only one more hydrogen generator to run the system. One electrolyzer produces enough oxygen for 8,8 dupes, if it runs all the time. Ideal conditions aren't a thing in this game as you might notices... I like to count that 2 electrolyzers supports 16 dupes, so I play on the safe side. This is simple way how to know if you have enough oxygen or not. And when you need to expand. Unless you have dupes with divers lungs or mouth breather (never take one of those). You can also count that you should have about 3-4 pumps venting oxygen from your spom for optimal efficiency. 4 is better. 2 pumps connecting in one pipeline and you can have the most optimal gas distribution. You have 2 spoms, but they not work on 100%. You have only 1 oxygen pump per electrolyzer. So if your spoms would work all the time without pause, they are working only on 62% efficiency. That means your 4 electrolyzers doesn't support 32 dupes as they could have. It actually supports 20 dupes. If they run all the time and you have optimal oxygen distribution. That one spom doesn't have enough energy and doesn't run all the time. In reality that means, you don't even produce oxygen for their breathing. They didn't suffocate yet, because spoms are not the only source of breathable in the colony. Every building has a point of interest. This is the tile on your mouse arrow. That is the tile where dupes interacts with building. This is a tile where duplicant needs to stand when operating a building (no matter where the animation is), or needs to be reachable in order to build the building. Example: air pump has it as a bottom left tile. If that one is reachable, it will be always build. But it will not be accessible, it the tile is not the one in the corner you want to build on. Food poisoning is only a problem, if it is on the food they eat. If the raw food is contaminated and grilled than the germs are destroyed. But the raw food can contaminated fridge. If it is in the water used for oxygen and they will breath it in, they won't get sick. Otherwise nice progress in your colony. Keep going :-)
Great tips! Especially on the POI tile. ;) I'm trying to tread carefully so as not to produce power I don't need or waste power and resources unnecessarily. I'm probably good on the SPOMs now. Power doesn't seem to be an issue and the base has "some" food available.
Dupes constantly use suits, those requires refill of oxygen in quite large amounts. You don't really want to have them on the same pipeline as oxygen for your base. You don't have enough oxygen generation for 20 dupes. Look at full Rodriguez spom. It can can support over 30 duplicants. Soyou would have plenty of oxygen for suits and pressurising the base at 20 dupes.
I've debated whether to pressurize the base and have also had issues with it being over-pressurized or overheated. I've seen a suggestion for the full rod, but I'm considering a hydra. When looking at the plans, a rod uses 4 electros, which I currently have in the SPOM. I guess what I'm lacking is the additional pumps needed to get the O2 into the base. Thanks for the tips!
@@ivellios_ Normal gas vent overpressures at 2 kg. If you need less, than you can use atmo sensor to shut down the vent. Ideally, use it with the filter gate set on 30s for example, so the vent will not constantly turn on and off. Any spom needs to be cooled down eventually, because the stable temp of electrolyzer spom is around 70°C. You have plenty of water. And if I'm correct also some cool slush geyser. You can build spom close to it and the oxygen for your base let go through the pool of water from the geyser. It erupts at -4°C and gasses are easy to cool down, you probably don't even need radiant pipes. You can even put a pump into the polluted water controlled by temp sensor, which will pump warm water to the water sieve. At for example 10°C. And this pure water can be used in the spom for oxygen. You would have an infinite loop, singe geyser never runs out, it just hits dormancy. But you have a huge amount of cold water stored already, so you won't run out dry. The same can be done with cold salt geyser, just use desalinator instead water sieve. This can be done with any spom. Oh and it doesn't really matter how hot oxygen goes to the suits, it can be hot and it won't do any damage.
You don't have to deconstruct a building to change the material it's made of. In the option tab of a building is material tab, where you can change it. And dupes will automatically redo the building from the requested material.
Sadly, that's how the change material function works. When a rebuild is ordered to change material, they have to deconstruct and then rebuild it. If the material is used before they get to rebuilding it, then the building is gone completely. :D Thanks for watching!
The dupes need a 2 tile high gap to move through so they can't enter the room. Is this the no metal refinery no steel challenge run? It is cycle 740, where is the refinery?
proly a first road player or just casual, he uses a lot of things that are unescessary in a vision of someone more "profissional" with the game
Been a few days since I played this one. Which room? It's not a no steel challenge run. I've just been struggling as I learn new mechanics and hadn't had the power or time to focus on some of the refinement mechanics. Thanks for watching!
