That’s like torture 😢
Very, very cool video! I'm curious: does this also work on cerakote finishes or parkerization? EDIT: Just saw some replies below suggesting it *should* work on parkerization. Not sure on cerakote.
I use gibs . You can just wipe it down paint or blue right over the stuff is amazing
Hi…How do we reach you for gun engraving?
Great video…if it’s a high polish underneath would it ruin the polish and have to be re-polished? Thanks for the video tip
Is it the concrete Muratic acid ? That’s all I see that’s why.. thanks in advance
But is it stainless?
Thanks dude!
Do you have to coat the metal after removing the bluing
Absolutely. It'll rust like hell if you don't.
Why would you not want to use evaporust. Seems it would be safer all the way around
Hi good video. Do you know what acid do you used?
Didn’t work on a springfield 1911. Left it in for 2 hours checking every 30 mins didnt do a thing to the blueing
nice tutorial! ty.
Awesome video. Was looking for a way to remove bluing in a hurry besides blasting.
ماهي المادة التي يستخدمها انا لا اعرف انجليزي
Hello. Quick question. What guns can you do this to ??
I'm not experienced in this sort of stuff but I have a RIA 1911 GI, If I were to remove the finnish and keep it the way it is after I'm done would I need to do anything to it like keep it coated in something?
That's exactly what I want to know, but there isn't a single video on the topic.
After doing those steps could you polish the parts to a mirror finish so it can come out shinny like Nickel plate or it doesn't work like that?
Not all steels can be polished to a mirror finish.
@@bgpowley oh ok gotcha
I’d disagree with you on that , there’s so many different polish bars on the market now, I haven’t ran into anything ex specially firearms related that I couldn’t polish,
Can this process be done to remove the factory coating on glock slides?
That what I’m tryna find out as well
Did either of y'all ever find out?
@@Sanguivore lol nope
@@370hssv3 Thanks for the update! lol
Vinegar works to remove bluing, and quickly. 👍
What % of acid and did you dilute?
Just get a gallon of Muriatic, any percentage, at the hardware store and use it straight out of the bottle. it's all explained in the video.
Thank you
Excellent !!!! knowledge is gold !!! thanks
Hello. What fabric/ material do you use to swab the parts with? Is it cotton??
Thank you for the tutorial sir, can this be a critical important step before electroplating the slide/frame with gold or nickel?
Did u ever get an answer?
Were you breathing that in the whole time
No.
what kind of acid?
And why did you remove the color blue? Also, I want to ask you. I have a Russian Tokarev 11 pistol. It has a wide line and a circle. It has suddenly started to rust. It was exposed to water during the rain, and the color of its metal has started to change and tend to turn red to rust with the appearance of some rusty places. What should I do?
It was removed in order to gunsmith and refinish the gun.
Do you have to do an extra step if you want a polished stainless finish or can you start polishing after?
This is about removing bluing from a gun. This has nothing to do with A stainless steel gun---which isn't blued.
I started with a blued gun. Removed it how u showed us. Now can I start polishing or does the wd 40 help it from rusting while I take my time polishing to get it looking the way I want. I know it's going to take time first time ima try.
@@truemagoo8153 You must be thinking "brushed" finish. Stainless is the grade.
Will this work on a Glock slide to remove the black finish?
Already answered that question down below...
so I've been looking for a chrome 1911 for a long time...and now I'll just do this.
This removes bluing. Removing chrome is another entirely different process.
Apple cider vinegar,2 tablespoons of salt and a cup of peroxide are instant on blueing. Cerakote not happening. That is the toughest shit I’ve ever seen
This removes bluing. I never said anything about this removing cerakote
I've got a question. I have a late roman helmet, unfortunatly it's blued. (i dont know if its hot blued or cold blued) does it matter? Does your way remove both kinds? Also, is it requred to fully submerge a part? can it be enough to simply drench a piece of cloth with the acid and wipe it over the helmet? Would that work? (the helmet is rather bulky and has internal liner) with kind regards.
Sorry....I don't have any experience removing bluing from Roman Helmets.
@@bgpowley That's ok. But what I meant with my question is this: 'does your method of removing bluing require to fully submerge an item? Can I drench a piece of cloth in the acid and wipe it over metal? Would that remove the blueing? Also, considering there are two types of blueing, (hot and cold) does your method work for both kinds?'
@@cannonfodder90 No....you can remove bluing the way you describe. and it will removed hot or cold bluing too.
@@bgpowley A great many thanks from me. Cheers. Ciao Ciao.
jeez man where's his enthusiasm id have been so stoked to use an m1928. I also had a question regarding your muriatic acid video, I have a Springfield Hi power which has a matte blued finish, since it is a type of bluing do you think it would work?
Does this work for a matte blue as well?
It works on removing bluing. if the item you have in question is matt blue, then that's because the metal isn't highly polished.
Thank you sir, great video. Just what I was looking for.
I hope I don’t sound stupid asking this, but will this with a parkerized finish? (RIA)
Should.
Did it work?
What acid was this again
It was mentioned in the video.
So u can use this to gold plate after ?
I wouldn't know
Finally less then 5 minutes to strip it down thank you sir
Is this good for pot metal frames ?
I wouldn't know
Mr. Brian respected. I hope to explain to me about this acid you used. What is the installation?
?????
Will this work to remove parkering?
I have no idea
Did you ever engrave it and re-finish the pistol?
yes...
Thank you!
Hey what the best acid for glock gen 5 barrel that blueing so strong lol and thanks
Glocks are not blued.
and Glock finishes are not blued.
Very nice
Will this work on a Glock slide
No
What could be used to remove parkerized steel?
Phosphoric acid
Same stuff.
Was that water u dipped it in after
Yes....It was all explained in the video
