Foundations: Setting Up A Beading Loom
Good ole Google is reading my mind again, lol! I was just wondering, a couple of days ago, how to do raised bead work! Thank-you for this! ❤
So pretty! ❤
Tanisi! This video has been really helpful getting me going! I’m Island Métis too from Nanaimo! Miigwetch
So happy you found it helpful!
I would like to what your are going to if you come president😊
Awesome! Thank-you ❤❤
Your videos are really helpful at learning, I am Métis and trying to connect with my culture on a more deeper level, I have been sharing your videos to my family that want to learn as well 😊
Thank you
Beautiful. I definitely want to try this. How sturdy/delicate is it after it dries? Can/should they be sealed after?
It is fairly sturdy afterwards, no need to seal the finished product.
Thank you for your tutorial but the background music is terrible 😢
Hi Mara, Great vidoe. Where can I buy some quills? Ni road kill available here, hehehehe!
I wish we could find some here! I have purchased some from an Indigenous Artist - Beadwork by Braelyn on Instagram. But have also seen them on Halfords and Ibead Canada. They are less expensive if you purchase them unwashed and clean and dye them yourself.
Very throughput video but I will say for people like me that music is very distracting for me to learn. ADHD is not an easy thing to learn things to begin with, but the music is too loud for sensors. I did still try to focus as I want to learn more skills with the loom.
I know... the music was driving me bunkers.
Can’t pay attention….that music is annoying! See ya
Such horrible music. So distracting. I can't believe someone actually chose it. It was hard to watch the whole video through. Please don't use this type of music again.
Why do you add crazy music? It is not needed and is very distracting noise - sorry but music is not needed.
Please use a softer kind of music or no music at all what ever you have playing in the back ground is more then just distracting, it’s uncomfortable to listen too when your talking, sorry.
Very generous of you to have made and posted this video…exactly what I have been trying to find…thanks!!!
Thank you !
That music is so annoying! Love the tutorial, but the music is very distracting.
This seemed like a really good video, but I found the music to be intrusive and stressful. I could not mute it and get the captions, so I have had to stop the video.
I'm watching these videos and I haven't learned anything
I'm sorry to hear you feel you are not able to take anything away from these discussions with Elders. This program was not meant as a structured language course, but an introduction and gathering. There are many structured courses available online that you can enroll in to learn Michif.
@@northislandmetis you are promoting the podcast as a language lessons perhaps change the title it was disappointing
cant listen to that music.
Hello, please note the video has closed captioning. If the music is not to your taste, please mute the video and turn on the captions.
Thanks
If you can stop that sound we can hear you better

I have done lots of jewelry and decorating with beads but the loom terrifies me. My daughter's wants to learn in the most desperate way. I have agreed to watch every you tube and then not look like I am going to pass out as I show her how easy it is .help
I found the key was just practicing. Your first pieces are never perfect and that is okay. Just keep trying and watching videos. Good luck!
I mean.. it works.. but the way you do it, takes longer than the correct way.. but I guess if you can do it more than one way, there is no correct way? 😆 btw you don’t have to cut the string before you put it on there.
Whatever way works for those doing the beading is fine. For anyone watching the video, if you find different or easier ways to thread your loom, do what works for you. There is no one correct method. Happy beading.
Hi! Where i can found that string holder or what is that name? :) thanx for help!
I think you mean the bead loom? You can get them at craft stores and online retailers. Just search bead loom. If you mean the item that was used to lift and separate the strings, that was just a paper clip with one part straightened. Let me know if this isn't what you meant.
@@northislandmetis yeah that bead loom thanx alot!
The music is only an annoying distraction. I can't learn and listen well with that music. Thank you anyway. bye
Thank you for the feedback. We will keep that in mind if we make more videos.
You made it look so easy. I think I'll try it the way you did and maybe cut some time off setting up the loom. I hope. thank you.

En el tiempo que ella invierte en montar el pequeño telar, ya se hizo una pulsera si solo colocas el hilo de un lado hacia el otro atándolos* en los tornillos que trae el telar, ella lo complica más de esa manera 🤷🏻♀️.

Thanks so much for these free videos. I really hope we can revitalize michif.
Thank you! Merci! Will try it!
Thank you!❤️
Again an absolutely great video. So glad these are on UA-cam. Marsii.
Thanks a ton for this series of videos. They're so educational and informative.
I love this. Thank you so much for making these videos. I really hope they catch on and more people start to learn michif.
Thank you very much! Are you going to make beading tutorials? That you be very nice! Have a beautiful weekend!
Thanks for watching. We hope to make more sometime this summer.
Thank you Bruce! Super to hear your gentle approach and teaching.
Maarsii Bruce, this is important knowledge to share. I am very grateful.
Thank you very much!
Great tutorial!
