Thank you for posting this. I hate hearing Brian struggle but have to admit that this is probably the best he has sounded in a while. I am so proud of him even with all of the struggles. And for all of the "fans" complaining about his voice 🖕. At least he is trying we may never get his "old voice" back but he is putting in the effort to entertain all of us when he doesn't have to

I guess as a lifelong BSB-er, this might be the best time to pipe in on all the Brian chatter, and, based on some of the comments below, the onslaught of hate that's being directed his way.... that was news to me. And someone mentioning that if it was anyone else in that position, namely Nick, they wouldn't receive a fraction of the backlash - I would have to vehemently disagree with that... based on. Nick's checkered past, and what I. consider to be the unconditional and widespread love and support for Brian, I'm pretty sure Nick would get slaughtered much more aggressively. That said, I am sort of on the fence with how I feel about the situation... for context, my current "GOAT" and artist who I continue to put at the top of my "must always watch live" list, and conveniently that happens again this October (cannot wait), is Justin Timberlake.... that said, while the BSB and NSYNC collars and mash ups I have seen online are cute, and I just saw that Joey and AJ are touring (? weird flex but OK), I have always been a bigger BSB fan than NSYNC (JT is treated in isolation), and that's based on everything - longevity, music catalog, concerts, member contribution, vocals as a group etc etc....but I have to admit that the Brian "frog-voice" as I have heard it being referred to is a bit hard to listen to as a fan...partially due to a genuine feeling of sympathy, because you know how much his voice and the group mean to him (not to mention his unwillingness to "let it go", so to speak) and partially due to the fact that it is categorically impacting the live performances negatively...now I would never encourage lip-syncing or anything else along those lines, but when the melodies are affected, that can be masked, but the solo verses are a complete and utter struggle... As a fan just watching from afar, I almost cringe listening to it, and have this overwhelming sense of anxiety when I know a big vocal arrangement is coming up, and pretty much sit through the solo parts with what I feel is the same amount of discomfort and internal sadness as the group members...well, considering they have performed together for the better part of their entire lives, I am sure they are feeling it a bit more intensely. Is there an immediate solution that makes sense or doesn't destroy the confidence and morale of the group....probably not... but this isn't their first rodeo...or their 100th, and you would think someone on the team, assuming none of the band mates have the heart to step in, would recommend ways in which his vocal arrangements can be shared amongst other members or divvied up in a way that's more audibly pleasing to their legions of fans worldwide... I am positive they (or we) would understand... and this hate I am reading of must just be the byproduct of your run of the mill keyboard warriors, as I struggle to believe that fans in the flesh would be brave enough to chastise the poor guy based on the vocal tension ailment which I believe is dystonia or dysphonia...I am no doctor, but I have ears and have listened to them perform live for decades and this approach where they just perform with the same vocal ownership is not working.... Brian, Nick and AJ are easily the band leaders in terms of vocal responsibilities, but this is hardly a situation where the other two are there as pretty faces...I mean, they still make the girls swoon well into their 40s, but Kevin and Howie can hold their share of a note...and a verse....so I don't see why they can't jump in and share the wealth unless there really is some behind the scenes tension or group conflict around Brian and his voice... as I said, they aren't children...is it the case that they are all just too scared to say something. I mean come on, Stevie Wonder could hear the struggle and then it's painful to sit through him struggling through the verse, almost begging without saying for the fans or the other band mates to step in and save him from his misery.... it's fitting that as I am typing this that "Show me the meaning" is playing in the background....and it's bad, folks...it's bad...there is no way to sugarcoat it or spin it in a way that is truthful by any stretch of the imagination.... this is a professional group, playing live for fans across the globe...paying fans.. hard earned money, not to mention what it must cost for this Cancun contingent to experience this otherwise epic 30 for 30 arrangement....but if not the team or the band, then Brian needs to man up and take it for the team, for lack of a better choice of words....he is a pro...and someone addicted to his craft, not to mention the band, and it's obvious based on some interviews I have seen in the past that this kills him, and also glaringly obvious that he has a very hard time letting go...sure, we wish him the best and commend his work via therapy, but sometimes, just like an athlete accepting the inevitable L to Father Time, you need to do what's right for both the group and the fans...especially if you want to be around for decades to come.... #DrusViewz
